To think how Alera's life would have ended in that alley way when he was so very tiny. It took a lot of love & a spirited little cat soul to pull through & go from where he was to what he finally had, 2 wonderful years.

I found about Alera yesterday. I then found out later that he was no longer with us. I was just so moved that Thomas took this poor kitten in and saved him...most people would just leave a cat like that in the streets...but he put his heart and love for Alera.  I know Alera was thankful and loved and lived as best he could. Thank you Thomas, and thank you to those that helped out with Alera.

I actually learned that Thomas named his baby Alera. In his video archives on Justin TV, there was a video titled "Holding baby Alera" and it was after May. I was excited, thinking maybe Alera was still alive, but it was Thomas holding his baby girl...and I cried. Love that transcends lifetimes.

I found the videos of Alera last thursday.. I found out last night that he passed away.. I cried my heart out. Thomas has inspired me to fulfill my lifetime career as a veterinary nurse. I'm not allowed any pets yet I love animals.

I found Alera on here lastnight and watched most of the vids :( When I saw Alera passed away I cried !

It is so sad hope people abandon poor helpless animals and leave them to defend for themselves. I wish they could be adandoned and let to starve and see how it feels to be a baby like Alera was, and unable to walk and fend for himself.

Thank God Thomas found him, loved him and dedicated his time and love to him that his short life was as comfortable as possible.

Sweet video. So sad, I did not realize Baby Alera had died. I saw almost all Thomas' Youtube videos. I was subscribed to his blog, and got updates, but lost touch when he switched to JustinTV. I was unable to watch at work. Thomas is such an inspiration for humane treatment of animals in everyday life. RIP Baby Alera.

U guys're actually inspiring me of doing the same thing. U huv big hearts with animals, which is rare to Asian (that's the fact).

When my cat died 7 yrs ago at the age of 1, I cried so loud and so hard. I took care of him since he was a new born, after all the sudden, hes gone for a week, came home and fallen ill...Unfortunately, Vietnam VET sucked so bad that they couldnt find anything wrong. They gave my cat mostly vitamin (WTF), which didnt help abit. SO SAD.

This is really touching. My cat just passed away this past August, and he lived for 18 years, 5 of which he was diabetic for. I highly commend these guys who adopt all of these abandoned strays and take them into their own homes, and find a place for every one of them in their hearts. Thank you for doing what you do.

I think it started when the first video about Alera appeared on YouTube. Somebody posted it on Digg and it made it to the front page of Digg. That's how I found out about Alera and Thomas. I've been friends with Thomas, Alera and the other furkids for over 2 years now. He has a large following.

i was heartbroken whne i confermed Alera's passing, Thomas is a wonderfull person for taking in animals that no 1 wanted, he did every thing possible for Alera. the cat i have now, is a rescue from a NO KILL shelter, the moment i saw his pic it was an instant connection, and when Mozart was in my arms the first time, it was instant love, i can not imagine my home with out him. i never buy pets from a store,i rescue from shelters

i monitored them for a few days before i took away the kitty, and it was interesting to see how her brothers/sisters helped her when she couldn't move and got into trouble because of her bad legs, and the mother was away...it was so touching... thanks for all the videos. that cat was a very special one! Just like his owners!!!

when I asked the vets what to do with that kitty all of them told me that let natural selection do its job but I disagreed. (In my opinion, as cats are domesticated animals, we are not allowed to let them die when they are injured or having a handicap or disability, even if they are strays.)

I was searching the web to find out what to do with cats with paralysed legs, and found these videos.You must know that this cat saved an other one's life who had a similar (but not that severe) leg poblems!!she was a kitten of a feral mother and this story touched me that much that I caught her...and now I take care of her.
