When I first heard this version over 20 years ago, I knew that I had to learn it or die. It has been one of my favorite songs to play ever since then. Just played it last night as a matter of fact. Gorgeous.
Looks to be a Breedlove AC25/SR+. They've been discontinued, replaced by the C25/SR Stage, which is lighter and has new fretboard inlays, an L.R. Baggs pickup as opposed to the Fishman in this one, and an onboard tuner but is essentially the same guitar. Both retail for about a grand. Hope that helps.
look it up on guitaretab . com...it won't let me post the link
that's the link to the song...you'll need to reformat it in microsoft word because it doesn't fit in the page.
There are a few tiny errors in the tab, but they're barely noticeable until you start playing along with the song. I've been playing it for about three days and i have it down almost perfectly. Good luck!

You do an excellent job, but you forgot the sound of fingers squeaking across the coiled strings.

Irie. Good job! What is the guitar? I love the inlaid mother of pearl? The head looks like Breedlove?

Is Joni's version in the same key as Judy Collins'? I think the popular version of this song was in Ab.

strange to hear this song played in standard tuning. Not bad, just different. Harder, too, I'm sure :)
musicloveranthony 5 years ago
What tuning is it in? I'm just learning this...
dusty300 5 years ago
the original is played in open D tuning with a capo on fret 4...so DADF#AD capoed @ 4 :)
