@dasgemuse based on 2 years experience, I can tell you AP, especially dissolved in solution, is not that sensitive, like NG, if you're gentle with it, you won't have any problems

@BenHBX Dude no shit, i've messed with both, and i guess if you were running around with a hammer hitting it everywhere then you might detonate it...No i get a kick out of these dumbasses that say this shit will go off from talking around it. I honestly think when they say the explosive is very sensitive they mean that it can be set off by a hammer, i think they compare sensitivity compared to stuff like c4, which i guess nitro is very sensitive compared to c4.

@334683171014 hey man, i know as well as anyone that AP is not thaaat sensitive, but with the trek i have to make to set this stuff off and the climate of the area i live in, i do not feel like walking for miles in the god awful heat and humidity with a mix of (relatively) unstable materials 'primed and ready to go' in my backpack...

@dasgemuse Yeah i just add more catalyst in mine to make it crystallize in 30 min, i've never made AP the normal way,all i know is mine is more stable than anyone's on youtube that i've seen,i can barely set it off with a hammer.Pay attention to this line though,you should never ever carry your shit around with the primer in it and you should never use a fuse unless it's really long use electrical, and you should never have your detonator hooked up while your hooking up your cap!!

@dasgemuse But yeah im sure you already know this, BTW hit me up incase you don't know how to make an electrical detonation system because i use a pretty fool proof system, i've used nichrome but it sucks, i use 10 ohm 1/8W resistors now, there just as fast only a lot more reliable due to the fact that there tougher and you can solder them!!

Nice one. ETN and nitroglycerin both have extra oxygen, so you'll get more power if you add a few% Al powder, and probably more brisance too

Unlikely. a mix of the two probably has all of 4% too much oxygen and thats assuming 100% nitraion of the glycerin and erythritol which just aint gonna happen.

A little Al might add an extra bit of "power" against less that steel-hard targets in the form of more gas volume but brisance and true shattering ability will be lower.
