Yeah, the guy was pretty smart. He signed the petition because he wanted to END the suffrage. He got the joke, and the petition is for what he wants. Therefore - he signs it. You judged him too quickly.

@paulyski Im a little confused. He knew what suffrage was but signed a petition. Since he knew what it was i can assume that signed it because he wanted to end it. just my 2 cents

The petitioner failed to specify that the petition was for the REPEALING of the 19th amendment.

The man asked if it "was a reenactment" This shows that he was thinking that it was a petition (like the original) for the 19th amendment.

Watch it closely.

The guy knew what the 19th was, but the kids omitted the reason for the petition (to END it). The guy seems like he thinks he's signing a reenactment of instating womens suffrage.

@paulyski absolutely spot on. give the guy credit. he knew it, he thought it was a reenactment to support women's suffrage so he signed it. he didnt sign it to stop suffrage. huge difference from the idiots who signed it thinking it had something to do with women's suffering

@paulyski We actually never showed the big sign we had on the front of the table. We had printed a 3 foot sign that said in large red letters "END WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE"
