How to change Russian Battlefield 3 to English [WITH 6th of December PATCH!!]

@kenpoiss14 sadly I don't know.. It worked well for me the first time I tried it.. maybe you could try redowloading the packs.. wish you best of luck in figuring this out either way.

and no. The game will NOT function if the new patch is not applied.

note: the 1GB language file is NOT to be changed in ANY way.. only the patch file located in the update folder.

Hi, I followed your tutorial. The game works ok and the menu is in english but I couldn't hear the English voice-overs even if I switched it in the game menu.

Do you hear the English Voice-over in the game or only the russian?

@TheKratos147 Nah i finally figured out that the Update-en files (the small 2kb files) were out of date so i just went to cjcdkeys and downloaded a newer version. *** For everyone else, If you check Date modified and it says 10/18/2011 then it is out of date.

RU version wasn't launching. It would just say that it's starting, I can see it launch in taskmgr, and then it disappears. Switched it to english, still the same thing.

@TheKratos147 Thanks for answering. Whenever I go to Battlelog to launch the game, it says it's launching, but never does. bf3.exe shows up in taskmgr for a few seconds, but then disappears. I contacted their support, and so far they have been no help. Tried patches, reinstalling, checking if it's corrupt, and now I was told to do clean boot and see what program is conflicting with it. I've seen hundreds of people on battlefield forums with the same problem, but no solution.. Any ideas? Thanks!

@Chameleoguy Hmm.. I recommend first checking your PC.. maybe its practically outdated; if nothing else, reformat your PC. but only as the last measurement.

1. Defragment your PC and clean your registry.. I recommend CCleaner for the cleaning, and windows' Disk Defragmenter works fine for this.

2. Clean your files, ones that you don't need/use to save space.. clean your temp folder (go to start > run > %temp% )

3. open tast manager and delete all the processes you don't need.

Can the RU codes sold on that site be used to play BF3 online in English, or will servers recognize that the sound files have been changed and boot you for a modified game installation or something? @WhiteAlcatraz do the reverse from this.. change everything from en_US to ru_RU and put russian GDFBinary.. but it will be a problem patching, since russian patches surely won't be just released off..

@TInoobIT press start button (between Ctrl and Alt) + R. type regedit in the box and run it.

while you're in there, press Ctrl + F and type "ru_RU" and change every single match you find in the registry to en_US. after you're done, close regedit, open it again, and this type type Battlefield 3 in the find tool.. re-check all your matches (GDFBinary should be en_US and all localization should be en_US. also 1 tag called "Language - Russian, change that to "English") I guess that would be it.

@TheCaciqueLempira There is no such thing as VPN and US server.. dedicated servers are worldwide and you will always be able to find a server in your area. on top of that, there is a Region filter in the Battlelog server list that will help you get the best game service possible.

@zvoninemir90 ajde, u redu, čut ćemo se onda. ja se isto mučim na svojoj GT240 malo, al sa večinom postavkama na high i nekim na ultra, radi solidno na 25-35 slika u sekundi jer sam malo štelo po igri..  znam nešto što će ti definitivno skinut večinu lag-a (ako misliš na štekanje igre, a ne na internetski lag kao delay od servera) pa ako te zanima, javi mi se u inbox sa svojim Skype-om ako ga imaš, ili WLM / MSN-om

I ended up figuring it out myself. When I tried doing this it was late at night I didn't figure out what I was doing wrong till the next morning. Anyway what I didn't notice is that one your in the battlefield 3 folder, there are 2 sets of files that need to be put into different folders. First being the update folder, then the other one is the data folder
