  • fun and enticing overture, can't wait to hear more. The prospect of a steampunk opera is pretty thrilling!

  • I broke the replay button..

  • I'm writing a novel for the moment, and I always listen to this song when I need inspiration. It is beatiful

  • Could you please upload more music from The Steampunk Opera?

  • @5ARamir6 Okay. I've included now a link at the top where you can listen to the entire 1st act. (YouTube won't let me post it here in comments.) While the entire thing is written, the vocals for the remaining 3 acts won't be recorded until Apr 2012.

  • Now that I think about it, it kinda gives the sense of a demented, twisted, dark, evil little world, and/or a demented steampunk scientist who can make amazing wonders but can also cause amazing trouble. Or something.

  • @illeatyourself yoou're right! It does.

  • 1:32 reminds me of the new Sherlock Holmes movies!

  • that picture reminds me of the book "Perdido Street Station"

  • @hotguyfranky I LOOOOOOVE Perdido Street Station and it was absolutely an inspiration.

  • I LOVE the theme at 2:12 - absolutely transporting.

  • Support their shadows and the machines! -zumbakamera

  • I WANT THE PICTURE IN HIGH RES!!! DESK TOPPPPP

  • @BadTanLines Google "Steampunk desktop backgrounds" It'll be there. I have it ^^

  • I totally agree this is what steampunk should sound like. Get rid of most of the singing, and do this.

  • WoW! What Steampunk should sound like. Make a whole album of this---no voices no singing and it would sell like hotcakes.

  • In the near future I and some other high school friends will be filming a steampunk-themed movie in our local sandpit. We are already starting a budget. If you are interested in seeing the end result, visit my page and subscribe. I have no steampunk videos up yet, but by mid february the project will be finished. See you on the other side.

  • Why does this music remind me of Danny Elfman?

  • @AlbaGoBragh lol that's what it made me think of too

  • @Elenathiell: Let's hope he does. I've never seen a movie with Steampunk heavily in mind... ._.

  • sounds like a xylofone C: but i guess when it is steampunk it's more like metal pipes or sumthinf right? C:

  • Awsome pice of music. Can totally see a steam filled world.

  • A beautiful elfin girl with long red hair sits in her torn ballgown next to a still pond, dipping her feet in and out of the water. She looks up into the night sky, her eyes enveloped by the black of her soul. She smiles, wiping her curved mouth of blood.

This is what I just saw while listening to this. I've found my muse! Thank you steampunk:)

  • @thatonechick2012 Creepy, but interesting. I like it! Now write a story based on that thought, and you just might become famous one day!

  • Tim Burton needs to make a film with a Steampunk flavour, using this song as the theme...I can just see Johnny Depp playing an elegant, eccentric cross between James Barry and the Mad Hatter.

  • is this on itunes? i must have this!

  • @thegrief13 there are other ways than itunes my poor close minded friend.

  • That is so incredibly well done!

  • I love the eerie sort of mischievious feel to this music! Also the slight tones of industrial sounds to it! It definitely fits steampunk to me, love it!

  • This is so much better than the crappy minecraft music, better for caving too

  • It could easily be in one of the Final Fantasy-series's games

  • I really like the disturbing feel of it. its like it was written by the mad hatter from american mcgee's alice.

  • 0 dislikes. That's what I'm talkin about ^_^

  • Fantastic...and perhaps one of few tunes that display the theme of steampunk so well. Not within the name, or how the musicians dress - but at heart, the sound itself.

  • Some guy : "Do you believe in anything ? "

Me: " Actually, Steampunk is my religion..."

  • @Eythen0 AWESOME.

  • I haven't the slightest hesitation to call this a masterpiece.

  • this is amazing.

  • This song literally sends shivers down my spine, in the good way.

  • oh... my... god... (immediately opens new tab to check out blog)... whatever it is, I must see/hear it...

  • I like this one!

  • I can see this being the opening scene to some sci-fi movie. But isn't an overture basically an opening?

  • @rebelscumIV Pretty much.

  • dam i like this.

  • Wow I love this music and I will actively seek out more from the opera. I would love to use it for dance music at the Steampunk Exhibition Ball. It is a great fast waltz.

  • LEGIT

  • I love it! I got a sort of Harry Potter meets NMBC vibe off the chimes (or is it glock? Either or, it was great).

I LOVE the music in both HP and NMBC :D

  • i love the subtlety... think i spelled that right?

  • INSANE !!!!!

    This is sooooooo Awesome :}

  • good song

  • OMG, i love this tune very calm, like a good overture should be, but very steampunky feeling as well, favorited.

  • This is amazing. Deserves WAY more views than countless other 'music' videos.

  • Awesome.

  • big like

  • I like! It is soothing enough for an overture yet mechanical enough to set the mood for the rest of the opera. To me it felt like it transitions nicely and flowed through the entire piece. I was feeling a little of Danny Elfman with a lot of Paul Shapera. Can't wait to hear the rest of it.
