Because of Disney movies I grew up believing not that everyone was beautiful in varying degrees, but that there was a definite "pretty one" and "ugly one" in every pair.
@extranera oh no problem he also used to tell us that if in the middle of the night u start to hear a dog howl that a ghost is around the area ..and let me tell you there was plenty of times where i would wake up at 2 am and began to hear a dog howl and i lived in the mountains ...that was SCARRRY
I was amused to find our recently a real person from my home state of New Jersey helped inspire this story. During his time in the colonial army, Washington Irving encountered a captain Ichabod Crane from Elizabethtown, NJ-when he settled down to start writing, he remembered the odd name and decided to use it for his story. Crane's tombstone still stands to this day.
i love how i am have watched paranormal activity 1 & 2, insidious, Jennifer's Body and the Tim Burton version of this, and this is by far the scariest movie I have ever seen
This song and the hands covering the moon were the creepiest parts of this whole movie for me as a kid. Who knew I would grow up to be a haunt actor/horror enthusiast, and this is one of my favorites!!!!!!
@creepydoll415 The (very cool) 1957 movie "Night of the Demon" has a moment where the moon disappears behind clouds that I swear was lifted right from this cartoon!
Man the head less horseman laughs constantly the whole time he shown. I guess it was that joke at 7:34 that made him laugh so hard.
but in all seriousness it's the song while ichabod is traveling through the forest that makes it so scary. I should know, I played it once, the whole version. It scared the shit out of me just playin it!!!
@coasterjudge yeah, that was scary, it all was, but i thought the part where you didn't know where he was, was scarier! i dont know why, but i was laughing so hard when he was running away from the horseman!
@coasterjudge well yea the crickets are saying what sounds like "thats right be afraid" and the frogs saying headless horseman, and u hear a wolf howling in the background and all these creepy looking branches and shadows, but when the horseman does appear, hes not as scary lol i did notice that
@izlude2, I think they might be cattails. I believe they mostly grow in English-speaking countries like the United States, Australia, the U.K., and New Zealand.
@Tonykomnenos If the Headlss' Horsemans head was behind his armor how could he steer his horse? Also ichabod rode close enough to see down his armor. His terrafied reaction shows that he did not see a head, you cant hide a head that well to not see it completley. If the rest of your body is usable your head cannot be hidden behind your back. He stoped EXACTLY at the edge of the bridge(wouldnt be able to see if under armor)? The Horseman also threw the pumpkin with accuracy (needing eyes for human)
@Suneki Actually my reasons are very good.... Also ichabod LOOKED down the horsemans armor....not noticing his head with a scared reaction. As well as i agree a regular horse cannot jump as far as it did. Im getting at if the tale existed before brom used it.....Brom could not have been the REAL Headless Horseman....he might have just USED it for his evil doings but he isn't the original Headless Horseman.
Read the book, it is definitely implied that Brom Bones dressed up like the horseman to trick Ichabod. In the end of the story it says something about Brom laughing every time the pumpkin was mentioned when the story was told.
1. A fair point, but a dark grey horse could very vell look black in the middle of the night
2. That Brom didn't invent the tale doesn't mean he couldn't take advantage of it in trying to scare Ichabod
3. When dressing up as the Headless horseman you would try to disguise your head, not cut it off, and there's no indication Sleepy Hollow is still terrorised by the Headless Horseman.
not saying it must be Brom in disguise, I just don't accept your reasons for why it's not.
@bellamovie2 There's a superstition which says that when you spill salt (which was once an expensive commodity) the devil appears. By throwing a pinch of salt over your left shoulder you catch him in the eye with it, and back he goes to hell.
The left side of things was always associated with evil, hence the term "sinister", which is the Latin for "left".
There is an old belief that throwing salt over one's shoulder is good luck. When Bones saw Ichabod do this, he realized that the man was supertitious and a ghost story would scare him.
@mikethesmooth Michael Jackson and Jeff Goldblum! Do u like them! R U a fan?! Ya know --- Beat it! (Beat it!) Beat It! (Beat it!) no one wants to be defeated!!!

Only Disney can make eating a slightly peppered egg look epic , it was like he was eating a Habenero or something. I used to watch this every Halloween when I was 8 and 9.

The Headless Horseman tale existed before Brom bones was supposed to have used it killing/running off ichabot.(He MIGHT have dressed up as him to scare ichabot but i doubt it).3. Brom did not lose his head so it cannot be brom because the headless horseman still looks for his head today. Therefore the horseman is not brom he is an undead hessian soldier, head shot off by a cannon ball.
@CommanderJackal i agrre with you my friend..i think itd be funny if he WAS the headless horseman and chased ichabod and while chasing him he lost ichabod and the real horsemen comes in and continues the chase Xp
Not to mention that a normal horse can't jump so high as you can see at 8:55. Moreover if you watch at Ichabod's terrified reaction in the fourth part when he looks down the Horseman's neck, I have some doubt The Horseman was Brom Bones in disguise.
@CommanderJackal About the horse, don't forget, this is in the dark of the night. And Brom could have pulled his shirt or something over his head. In fact, you can see a bulge in the front of the headless horseman's cape.
@CommanderJackal Your points don't hold up; aside from the fact that the horses looks the same, Brom could've easily used another horse, and your third point presupposes that Brom couldn't be the headless horseman;ergo, it begs the question. Being that the legend was well known during Brom's lifetime, he could've easily taken advantage of it and scared Ichabod away. The headless horseman even matches Brom's build and voice, and of all the characters, Brom had the most incentive.
@Caqui hey dont nock it, i question the whole story, this is my fave, just last yr i met annie van tassle she talked ALL ABOUT THIS STORY AND HER FAMILY!!! I KID U NOT!!!
@CommanderJackal According to the original book, it was suggested that Brom Bones pulled this rather cruel joke on Ichabod, just as it was also suggested that Ichabod survived and ran away.
Brom's song is the best part of this movie. I love Ichabod's reactions, especially when he pours tea on the cat and doesn't realize it: he thinks it's Brom's story that scared it. XD
I want someone like h.i.m korn or a really good rock/metal band to do a remake of that headless men song :)

3. When dressing up as the Headless horseman you would try to disguise your head, not cut it off, and there's no indication Sleepy Hollow is still terrorised by the Headless Horseman.
not saying it must be Brom in disguise, I just don't accept your reasons for why it's not.

@CommanderJackal According to the original book, it was suggested that Brom Bones pulled this rather cruel joke on Ichabod, just as it was also suggested that Ichabod survived and ran away.

This song called "The Headless Horseman" reminds me of Kuroro the Vampire from Outer Space
in Jetter Mars Episode 14 in May 1977.

@Yugi40 I agree with you. It looks like Baum Bones doesn't want Ichabod to married Katrina in my other movie that Katrina is married to Ichabod.

Brom's song is the best part of this movie. I love Ichabod's reactions, especially when he pours tea on the cat and doesn't realize it: he thinks it's Brom's story that scared it. XD
