  • Nice Demo. U have the choke on? I need choke on constantly on mine.

  • Brazil here. For the skeptics: We use ethanol a long time, and any engine can be coverted, for a bettter performance on ethanol. One detail: Here in this moment we are running on gas due problems in the production, that not keep up. Our cars are FLEX, run in GAS or Ethanol.

  • you haven't shown us anything here, you didn't prove that the gas tank was empty prior to filling with the ethanol , you didn't show that the engine won't start up before filling the tank , and you didn't show to us that this is in fact ethanol ...

If you're going to go to the effort to make a video like this you should at least establish a few baseline facts before proceeding...

  • hi thanks a lot for your skepticism, because the skepticism equals to interest, and to prove myself right I have made another video where I tried to show that the petrol tank is empty and in fact dry, the engine is not starting prior the tank filling, and the liquid I use is water soluble - definitely not petroleum.

One more time thanks a lot.

  • could you use it in a stock car engine??? how about a slightly modified one? i want to run my car off grass clippings...

  • Yes you can use it for a 4 stroke car engine, there are some tips, it is good idea to have a carburated car (so you have to modify a carb), short intake manifold really thick with a coolant running inside to keep the temp up, replace the thermostat for the hottest one available for your car, use a real engine coolant that is capable withstand a subfreezing temp and you'll get the liquid that will get very hot without boiling, do not use water.

  • Your trying to be a smart ass :P but you actually can, Ethanol also has a better octane then gasoline.

If you ever purchased a octane in a bottle, the ingrediant will almost always read "Add 7 HP!!! contains 100% ethanol"

Grass "can" if converted to sugars but is harder to use then other things.

Way to go on trying to be a smart ass, hope someone ELSE here learned something about the direction our planet is heading.

  • im not being a smart ass, thank you. i was asking a simple question. i know that anything organic can be made into alchohol, i just wasnt sure if grass was a good one. i was just thinking, all that grass out there, and we could turn it all into fuel. thanks for the misjudgment though

  • I would also like to add if its 100% ethanol with no additives "only stuff you made at home"

you can also drink it lol

  • @samljer there is no 100% ethanol purest is 97.something % besides u can go blind very eazily from drinking such a strong alcohol

  • @Newbpwng

actually blindness is caused from other alcohols in mash not distilled.

i KNOW its not "literal" 100%, any idiot who can read does.

as for blindness, its caused by higher alcohols known as FUSELS.

look er up before you reply please, dont waste my time.

  • @samljer thats is not true i was specifically referring to ethanol alcohol and it causes blindness i am 100% sure from real life experience, one of my friends went blind for over 10 minutes when he tried drinking the stuff

  • @Newbpwng Hi, I use to serve in army as a lab tester of fuels, bake fluids, antifreeze and spirits, so the fact is: the blindness may not be caused by ethanol, and if you fit enough and know the technique you can drink 96% purified ethanol, while only 30ml of METHANOL may be lethal and wil cause blindness, - thus the ethanol is penetrating your bloodstream and get pumped around till get neutralized by liver, while meth is absorbed by brain along with water causing brain swelling

  • @samljer Continue, so methanol that stored in brain is starting to absorb the water and make the brain bigger and bigger, and as soon as human scull is not expandable the person that drunk methanol is experiencing a high brain pressure, that causing strokes, and also eye nerves to die due to no blood is supplied to the nerves.

  • I do not remove any extra water and use the ethanol straight from the still my still is capable of the highest possible percentage of distillation 96.6% and this is more than ok for use as a fuel without water removal.

  • great video, thanks for posting

How are you removing the extra water from your ethanol after distillation? are you using zeolite or? I ran my first run this last weekend and was sucessful in running my lawnmower on 180 proof, but had to prime the mixure (no adjustment on my carb.)

  • Have you thought about using grass clippings to make the ethanol?

  • yes I thought about it and even experimented, the main issue is legnin that is material that forms the sceleton of grass and trees, plus one will need to use speciall enzimes to reconvert cellulose, and grass mut be used while it is green and not really dry, but this is the solution because the amounts of the cut grass that disposed daily is enormous and this feedstock do not require any specially prepared lands, but for the more efficient use of grass I would consider pyrolysis.

  • Do what my uncle did, get 5 crab apple trees from a nursery, its been 3 years and now he gets enough apples to make more ethanol then he can use... by a lot...

  • As I mentioned bebore about simplicity of this carburator it does not requires any modification and fuel air ratio is controlled by only one screw, tus there was not any problems to tune this carb. Thanks for your comment.

  • since ethanol requires a lower air/fuel ratio (more fuel) than gasoline, you might try pulling the choke a little to richen up the fuel mixture.

  • Great work. I'm experimenting with making ethanol myself. Hardest part is making a still.

  • No 193.2 proof and this carburator does not need to be modified, too simple.

  • 200 proof? and did you modify the carb ?
