i actually drive the white cj8 in the vid, my friend owned the cj7, but he sold it years ago so im not really sure what year it was. Bummer on the transfer case by the way, but there pretty easy to replace usually
@scrambleralan Yeah I was climbing a huge log in 2nd low and it just kept tearin up the log then it caught real quick and dropped out the transfer and front drive shaft.
I'm done with jeeps. I'm getting a 79 1500 and I'm gonna through the 302 in my jeep in it and jack it up and put 45s on it.
sounds like you just needed a better transfer case like a dana 300 or something. well good luck with that, most o my friends had trucks at one time but found they're too heavy for offroading, although, if you loose the bed and fenders and some more weight in other areas maybe juice the motor a good bit that might be a sweet ride. you are planning on putting in bigger axles to run that big o tires arnt you?
@scrambleralan It's a regular cab short bed but it's got a nice turbo 450 tranny and I'm probably going to end up putting bigger axels on it after a while but they work good right now. It's lifted 12 inches they clear good enough. But other than the axels it's a great truck. I don't have to put the 302 in it because it has a chevelle 454 in it.
love those scramblers ! I just bought a '83 in very ruff condition. Frames been hacked back together and body is gone! I'm afraid it'll never be street legal again. It's got a GM 4 cyl. in it. I was told it was stock. But givin' the situation, I'm gonna drop a AMC 401/TH 400 in it that I've been saving for the right project. Gonna build it from the frame up. Where you scrambler boys from?? I would REALY like to get into a scrambler club or forum to share build ideas. I'm from northern Indiana
scramblers are definatly the greatest four wheel drive vehicle ever made. and dont worry bout the body, the one on my blue jeep in the 3rd vid is actually a fiberglass replacement tub i got out of ohio and is better than the original. And were in the southeast, me and dad live in chattanooga, theres one in knoxville, and 2 in montavelo, and one more in chattanooga. As for a club i would try the scrambler owners asociation, their on the web check um out
Here in Brazil, in 1968, was the union of the Willys Overland of Brazil with Ford Motors in Brazil renamed Ford-Willys, starting to manufacture their vehicles until the last in 1984.
In 1970, Ford-Willys renamed simply "Ford of Brazil." Gradually, Ford was replacing the Willys vehicles, and dying brand in Brazil.
In the United States do not know the history of the Jeep brand.
My jeep is one of the first out with engine GEORGIA FORD 2.3l OHC.
wow thats crazy, na in america it was bantam in 1939-41, willys till like the 70s, then amc from 70s to late 80s, then chrysler but they never mixed w/ any other companies lol
Here in Brazil, from 1975, the jeep left with only the Ford brand (she had bought the old willys) with 4-cylinder engine (OHC Georgia 2.3l) and 4-speed exchange.
was well until around 1984.
this same engine (OHC) left in SVO Mustangs, turbine manufactures, if I remember correctly.
Looks like a fun trail !! Like to run it, but livin here in oregon, well thats a wee bit far to travel. Otta come out to oregon some time we got some nice spots to run to. Oh by the awsome vid shoot some more.
well its near racoon mountain if you know where that is, its across from lookout mountain, and if you dont know where that is its about 15 mins outside of chattanooga
ya but if trust me even though moab has some really fun trails, if you want a challenge come to the east coast theres a lot less crawling and a lot more hammer down lol
well, the stock rolbar helps, but its nowhere near as safe as a cage, u either need to get a whole new cage built, custom make a cage to tie into ur roll bar, like the white jeep in the vid, or i believe certain places make prefabricated cages that you just have to put in, but i wouldnt know where to look.
hi i really like jeeps but one thing i dont understand is how when they go thru deep water and the engine doesnt suck it up! can someone please explain?
well, in our case the water wasnt high enough to get to the air intake(as a result of the really tall tires), but sometimes the water can get high enough, so most of us cary snorkles that raise the air intake to your roof
well none of us got stuck that day lol, but my new vid might have some winching, its gona have my new jeep in it, so i guarantee there will be winching lol
I have a pretty stock 99 wrangler that im looking to do a few mods to... any tips you can throw this way? the only thing so far is a gas tank skid plate and some 1/2 decent 31's. I need an oil pan and a power steering box skid plate and im undecided on what size lift to go with
well the first thing is a cage, if ur gona do any kind of ofroading u need a cage, it has saved alot of lives, second would be a winch trust me u dnt wana be stuck in the middle of no where, then i would think about a lift if your gona change out ur driveshafts, go as big as you want, but if you dont wana change out ur driveshafts yet 3-4 in is about as big as ull wana go, then acording to your lift and how much u wana drive it id pic an agresive or alterain tire if you have any more ?S just ask
lol ya this hummer guy obviously has never been wheeling with jeeps. Or truly wheeling for that matter. He probably is thinking of 1+ rated trails that a Daewoo could wheel
well i live in lookout valley which is at the foot of this mtn and i have been up there my whole life and i dare the guy in the hummer to come up there.. c how long it takes before we burn ur piece of shit when it breaks.. o and by the way to the rich fuck in the hummer just cause u got money dont mean shit up there
This h1 looks pretty stuck to me...I know I've made it through holes deeper than that. Hummers are one of the worst 4x4's for the price. I could take the 140k for a h1 and build one helluva TJ. Jeeps win, just face it.
you can get a used h1 for 50,000 dollars, and a lot of times there pimped out and not stock any more, btw you guys have to floor it to get over things, you have to use momentum to get over, a hummer takes it nice and slow, much easier on the vehical and more fun, you guys need those huge tires or else you wouldnt move, now try driving on a highway with those tires, good luck, lmfao
really? b/c ive never had that prb. infact ive never seen a hummer go up any of those hills so yea no ur full of it, and by the way, the big tires keep you from bottoming out...like hummers
