  • Very cool, indeed! I have a new project for my 93 yr old husband (woodworker)! Well, that is after he puts the finishing touches on my new art studio side arm desk on coasters! Girls eat your heart out! LOL! what a MAN!!!

  • I'm subscribing to your channel. Anyone who can DIY through most things is considered brilliant in my book! Way to go!!! (:

  • Great idea. TYFS. Best Wishes Lucinda

  • I'm glad to see you discovered the same tip I did years ago. I have a video about it also. Nice job! I found my wood blocks already made at a yard sale! There were 15 of them for a dollar! Love It! Take care! Debi

  • I normally use the sponges from stampin' up to do my blending, but it can get costly when they need to be replaced. This is such a GREAT idea! I'm going to give this a try, but I think I will start with the blocks I have from unmounting my stamps. Thanks again for this money-saving idea!!

  • Great idea!

  • This is so awesome thank you so much for sharing it. I have my blocks being cut this weekend and brought to me on Sunday.

  • Thanks for creating this video. I am new to cardmaking and scrapbooking and I can't keep up with all the neat tools out there - they add up quickly. I def can do this. TFS.

  • Instead of buying the wood, I am going to use all my stamp blocks I have been saving when I unmounted them! Wahoo!

  • Wow! Its pretty awsome and so simple! Thank You so much for the tutorial!

And any video I take with my Ipod come horribly!

  • Thank you for this excellent tutorial!!! I just inherited over a hundred stamps that I don't like. I was going to give them away, but now I will use them for the block of wood by using the wooden side of the stamp! THANK YOU AGAIN. Great job. Smart girl.

  • I'm making my own right now I'm from Australia and those things aren't cheap here either lol thanx to my dad with his off cuts and some things in my stash it should cost next to nothing! Sweet lol

  • TFS Great idea

  • Hi Leanne, I just want to say thank you so much for your tutorial! I am from Australia, and it's very hard (read: Expensive) to get craft products here. I get a lot of stuff online from the US, but 36 of the Ranger tools, even at 4.95USD is out of my price range.

So I followed your tutorial, bought a length of wood, and got my dad to cut it up.

$8 for the wood, $3 for the velcro & $2 for a piece of foam = 32 blocks for me to have! I don't have all 36 colors yet so 4 blocks out doesn't matter.

  • Nothing wrong with the footage! Better than some videos on youtube! Thank you for sharing, a GREAT idea!

  • If you are unmounting your wood stamp blocks, you could use the blocks that you like to make these! Recycling!

  • Great tutorial! So, you just asked the people at Rona to cut the wood for you? And they would do that many cuts for you? I didn't know you could do that? I wouldn't bind making up a few of these for the colours that I use the most!

  • @scrapeahappy Yes...I asked REALLY nicely hahahaha. They are so sweet at my Rona. I only ask if they are not super busy :-) TFW ~ Hugs Leanne

  • you should ask any stamper that is unmounting their woodstamps...more or likely the throw away the woodblocks and be happy to give them away

  • Great idea! I love your ideas!! I find things so much more expensive in Canada than they are in the States...so any $-saving tips you find are so helpful.

  • I wish I would have seen this sooner. Actually, I guess it's not too late. Right now, I have all my foams attached to old Jenga blocks (you know, from the game Jenga?)...the game wasn't getting used, so I figured I may as well put the blocks to use! LOL I attached the velcro to the ends and the foam sticks. But I'm not really caring much for them, b/c they are too skinny, so 1.) only a small part of the foam gets inked, and 2.) my arthritic hands are uncomfy holding them! Yours look better!

  • LOVE THIS!!! Having my hubby cut me some wood tonight. He is amazing at woodworking, so I know he already has some wood out in the garage. YAY!!! Ive already got everything I need to finish them up too... THANK YOU!!! ;)

  • This is a very good idea, Craft stuff in my country is very expensive, unfortunately I have never seen the velcro or the foam.

  • What kind of foam do you use? Thanks so much, great video!

  • @cass2sons I used the Inkssentials: Ink Blending Foam (by Ranger). The kind used with the Inkssentials ink blending tool. You can also make your own by using make-up foam. I bought some flat shaped make-up foam from the dollar store & cut them into rectangular shapes & glued either the soft Velcro piece or felt to it. It works just as great & costs much less! When using felt, I used glossy accent to glue it to the foam & it stuck on there really good! Thanks so much for watching! Hugs ~ Leanne

  • @cass2sons Thanks Leanne for replying back so quick, I appreciate your time in doing these videos. Have a great day!

  • Funny thing, I made the exact tools :) last yr I was fed up with removing the sponge on my one aplicator and refused to spend $9 each on more tools, I decided to ask a carpenter friend to cut me blocks, my wood was free, but I did the same with the velcro and I took it one step further, I printed the labels out on my computer and glued them on the top of the block, then with my Micheals coupon I bought one of those cute magnetic closure boxes and placed all my blockes inside. Fun to save money!

  • @Lisa6812 Great minds think alike!!! LOVE saving moola!!! TFW ~ Hugs Leanne :-)

  • You are fantastic, what a brainiac. I loveeee your ideas. Thanks heaps for sharing with us. Looking forward for more videos from you.

  • Wow! Just bought my first blending too, but already "hate" changing it out every time, being a student with a small budget, this really is a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing your ideas for the ones with a small budget!

    xxDebbie

  • What an absolutely FAB-U-LOUS idea!!! I'm sooo going to do this.....off to part two!

  • @yoliebean Thanks so much!!! I'm glad you like it!!! Hugs ~ Leanne :-)

  • Wow great idea gonna do mine this week but wanted to ask could I add a foam on each side that way it's two blenders in one

  • @emds698 You sure can!!! great idea!!! More for less LOL!!!! Thanks so much for watching! ~ Leanne :-)

  • Great idea, but what kind of foam is it?

  • @lisasmith54 When using distress ink, pigment ink or chalk ink, I use the Inkssentials Ink Blending Foam (by Ranger). Or you could make your own by cutting up a make-up sponge into a rectangle and gluing the opposite peice of velcro onto it. If you are wanting to use alcohol inks...you would use felt instead of foam (you can buy Inkssentials felt, but I just buy felt from the dollar store and cut it into rectangles). I'm glad you like the idea. Thanks so much for watching! ~ Leanne ;-)

  • Your idea is just fabulous! Great savings tip!! TFS!

  • This is GREAT!!!!! I lvoe your idea!! I saw another video where the person used a make-up sponge on her wood, with a Chess board piece glued to the top of the wood. I am going to try your idea! I have a serious lack of craft/storage space..so I am going to have the wood cut into shorter chunks. well...maybe..it might be to hard to hold if it was smaller... hmm.. at this point I only have 14 distress inks....more to ponder! lol. Thanks for the great video!

  • Thanks everyone for your comments!!! And to everyone else watching....please please let me know what you think and feel free to share my video with others if you like. Also...be sure to checkout my channel for more videos ;-) thanks again!!!

  • Love your frugal idea! I want a tool for each color too but can't afford it! I'm gonna try your idea. Thanks for sharing & saving us big bucks!!

  • I love the Idea and thanks for sharing. We are making mine this weekend.

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful idea.

  • What foam did you use? I love your idea!

  • @MrsWhite077 I use the Inkssentials Ink Blending Foam made by Ranger. You can buy it at most craft stores (ie: Michael's, Jo-Ann's, or check out eBay!!)

Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for my upcoming videos on saving MONEY with more homemade craft creations!

  • thanks so much i love it please make more videos like this to teach us to save money your are cute
