  • Cool Orthoptera Ensifera you've got there, bro.

  • Look behind you... a colony of ants is taking a video of "ants attacking feet", then posting it on ant tube.

  • Katydids: Although they are large and distinctive, Katydids are really just a type of long-horned grasshopper. Katydids tend to be very large compared to other grasshoppers, and are known for their song: katy-did-katy-didn't, which is sung by both males and females in some katydid species.

  • This species is: Tettigonia cantans

    English name: Small Green Bush-cricket

    Dutch name: Kleine Groene Sabelsprinkhaan

Not that it's realy small, but it's small compared to Tettigonia viridissima (Great Green Bush-cricket).

  • omg so beautiful

  • yer, which is why this is a bush cricket.

Infact screw the facts. How did you come across this magnificent insect? good job :)

  • I got one of these in my room right now v_v

They're disgusting but also some kind of beautiful...

  • that aint cricket dumb ass that is a grass hopper because its green dim shit

  • is everything okay with you?

    a cricket looks different.

  • Katydid, and that thing on the end is for laying eggs, not stinging.

  • I agree. It resembles a katydid more than a grasshoppers. If you look at it's horns, they are long, and therefore, it cannot be a grasshopper.

  • Thanks for the post! Very relaxing to watch, its super cute. Seems pretty fixated on cleaning its feet.

  • Sehr schöne Großaufnahme der Riesenheuschrecke. Habe selbst schon einige dieser ziemlich behäbigen, aber dadurch auch würdevoll wirkenden Vertreter der Schrecksen beobachten können.

  • Kewl

  • LOL I paused it at 3:10 and I feel like it was staring into my soul. Thanks for recording this!!

  • that's creepy...

  • AUUUUU! That is a KATYDID!

  • It would seem that this hopper is not camera shy. Thanks for showing such a nice closeup of the being.

  • it can sting?

  • wow groovy!!!

wildtothebones sent me ur way - Bless

  • this is a female look at the back of her abdomen and you will see that it's pointed males do not have abdomens pointed at the end.

  • Cute...how did it stay there so long, cleaning itself? She/ he's not intimidated very easily are they?
