Love bertil on the piano too. There's a very interesting documentary on here about Jussi. Tenors of R.P.M. I believe its called, anyway Bertil speaks very fondly of him saying accompanying him was, "the greatest experience of his life," or something to that effect.. check it out, its a treasure to any Jussi fans.

You cannot really compare Wunderlich a lyric tenor with a Spinto like Tucker or Domingo, yes compare him to Pavoratti or Jussi but he was a lyric tenor, Domingo, Tucker and Corelli where not. Wunderlich was wonderful. I agree but died so young before his prime even. Bjorling was a great lyric spinto tenor and even before he sang in America had sung many roles at a young age, he was a great artist besides having a great voice that ranks with the best of all time

As an old swedish seaman i remember when departing from Okpo S.Korea a newbuilding very delayed delivery, finally when leaving i played this 'till havs' surpringly all the yardworker standing in salute, i asked the pilot whats happening - well they tought that ''till havs'' was the swedish national anthem...

Jussi är svensk! Det är ingen annan som tror eller hävdar nåt annat här på tuben. Han visste bara inte att Hamsun och Ibsen oxå var nordbor. Han menade nog med sitt citat: "vi nordbor måste hålla ihop" att vi ska ta till vara på det kulturarv vi har fått ärva.

I agree that Fritz Wunderlich was a remarkably gifted tenor. I commented on his

version of Granada that he had outdone all the Spanish/Italian tenors on Granada and indeed had outdone Mario Lanza on Be My Love. I ranked him #2 behind Bjoerling and ahead of Tucker, Pavarotti and Domingo.

the greatest tenor that I have heard and most likely

the greatest who has ever lived. Luckily he left a grand legacy for those of us who love the tenor voice
