Although the entire plot was not at all new, the description of human relationship still served as a bowl of chicken soup that refreshed our soul. Rather than just being an encouragement to the local film industry, the reward was also a glory for every Hong Kong citizen. Director Law has given respectable tribute to our older generation's perseverance towards life's hardship. Without such deterministic attitude, perhaps Hong Kong wouldn't have achieved so much or be called "The Oriental Pearl"!

其實好多行業都好困難, 我都唔明白點解政府要特別優待電影業. 既然羅大導都提倡有什麼困難都應該甘之如飴, 不要爭取應有權利. 咁, 點解唔可以自身先擁有六十年代克服困難的精神, 不向政府要錢, 自己搞掂?
