  • I love this song, and this solo is absolutely amazing. Not the hardest he has played, for sure, but one of the most beautiful.

  • Amazing Yngwie=Guitar God Jeff=The best vocalist of Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force era Anders and Jens=The Viking's brothers

    I AM A VIKING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • For some reason those pick slides every now and then in this live version make me feel like a fucking man. LOL. Does anyone else know what I mean? It's just so badass.

  • Jeff Scott Soto is one of the most underrated vocalists ever along with Paul Shortino. Imagine those two guys doing something similar to what Jorn Lande and Russell Allen did. WOW!!!!

  • Jeff Scott Soto is the greatest!!

  • Jeff Scott Soto is a bloody GOD of rock vocals. Everything his voice touches is gold. And, he's soooo versatile. Yngwie is great but arrogant. You don't hear about him anymore but JSS is still cranking out GOLD!

  • SKITBRA,,FICK EN PIRATLIVE AV YNGWIES BROR EN GÅNG I TIDEN,,R,I,P BJÖRN MALMSTEN VI SAKNAR HONOM,

  • My Tree favorite Rising Force members 1) Yngwie MAlmsteen( Couldn;t you have stayed Single?)

    2) Anders Johansson

    #) His Brother Jens

  • FENDER EXTRA HEAVY WOOHOO!!!!

  • YNGWIE AINT LOST IT U PEOPLE-TO ME THE GUY WHO HAS BEEN THE biggest DISSAPOINTMENT LATE IN HIS CAREER HAS BEEN ..WITHOUT A DOUBT...EDDIE VAN HALEN

  • enhanced randy rhoads hehe, randy couldnt hold yngwies jock-EVER

  • I like the play of Yngwie of those days, also the tone of his guitar.

He rarely uses a bridge pickup at a lead play these days, and t the tone is distorted too much.

  • This reminds me of Bathory's "Man of Iron"

  • Jeff Scott Soto has such an awesome vioce!

  • i wish yngwie could still play like this

  • @Carlosgtrsnk wtf r u talking about of course u he can

  • @Carlosgtrsnk Yeah, when he could improvise amazing melodies in his solos... It was a magical period. Sometimes I think he died and they got a replacement look-a-like who got fat.

  • @Carlosgtrsnk You know, that got me to thinking. What if he really did die in '87...

  • @GameJourney what if Yngwie hadn't touch his first drink ?

Would he still be playing at this level?

  • @Freyja1133 LOL. He was most likely doing coke around the time of this show

  • @GameJourney freebase...freebase my friend big difference lol jk

  • @Freyja1133 leave the dude alone, hes prob 50 times better than u ...drunk, hes a grown fkn man lol, if he wants to have a drink now..fk it .i dont care, u think all those 18 hours a day practicing for yrs, hell, id want a drink too, hes done plenty ..the man can have as many drinks as he wants lol

  • @badhorsee I never said anything against Yngwie.... I was only stating facts... that when he goes on the road... liqour & cigarettes are there but ,If he deosn't want to subject his son ( antonio) to that,,then Maybe april should stay home?

Plus , all alcoholics have a weaknessin common.. I wasn't picking on Yngwie at all Only speaking from expirience ( as my father was a alcoholic until he died !)

  • @Freyja1133 i was just gettin u guys all riled up lol , dont take it so serious,im sure antonio will be just fine lol..HIS DAD IS FKN YNGWIE MALMSTEEN !

  • @badhorsee It would take more than that to get me riled up..

I didn't take it that seriously

But ,there are jerks who would say nasty things about the paganini of power metal

  • @badhorsee Maybe you should leave me alone... At least I'm honest enough to admit that i'm a lousy guitarist.... that's only because I never had to the Chance& time to practice.... ( myparents always got me involved with their bullshit...instead)

  • @Carlosgtrsnk Seriously, just watch those slides at :33. The new Yngwie just seems to carry himself a little differently than the old Yngwie.

  • @GameJourney I think he just lost his will to play giving 100% in every song, maybe because back in those days he was trying to prove he is the best in the world, and was trying hard to be sucessful with his music, now hes already rich, so he does not need that anymore hahaha

  • @Carlosgtrsnk That could be true. I will agree that he was better in his younger days. He was more off the wall. Sounded like an enhanced Randy Rhoads.

  • Yngwie should have hooked up with DIO (RJD) if he had to have a singer. I always felt, and still do that Yngwie just could never get together the right mix for a band. He’s much better off doing instrumentals and should go that route.

  • @jjooboo. They did a version of Aerosmith's "Dream On" that is fucking killer.

  • @jjooboo egos come in to play here... and yngwie 's ego can get in the way at times

I don;t thinkthat RJD had the right voice for Yngwie's material at all !

  • @Freyja1133 -I think RJD had exactly the right voice, however I don’t think Yngwie should have any vocals, he’s better off doing instrumentals. I also think that people have to be careful when talking ego’s, many of the people that Yngwie might play with are just not up to par as music theory and talent, and frustration with idiots can be misconstrued to mean big ego.

  • ese negro canta bien che

  • @X0ldmetalheadx muy bien

  • Taste My Steel...Fuckin love it!

  • Yngwie Malmsteen is a Viking who keeps becoming more handsome as time passes by...

( no April, I'd Rather be friends with Yngwie...And nothing more)

  • the lyrics remind me of Manowar

  • damn good song, outstanding singer, but the lyrics... ah well, still a kick-ass performance

  • Jeff is best of the best,Yngwie made his bigest mistake when he lost Jeff. He is second R.J. Dio

  • @TheAntialah Lost? Yngwie fired him!

  • i keep leaving this VHS at work- its just a beast as 25 years ago \m/

  • real power voice , for a real power metal....ingwie rulesssssss!!!!!!

  • in the religion of music, yngwie is god. he will shit on you. he will make u take up the flute. he will shred till u burst into flames. he fucking owns all!

  • Last comment. Yngwie's inspiring because when you see how easy everything is for him it makes you want to just slave over the guitar until you can nail everything he does and then act like a pompous jackass on stage for the rest of your life. This is all in good spirit by the way.

  • Still, that main riff is one of the best in metal.

  • He didn't do the amazingly fast solo intro... Disheartening... Still good.

  • Awesome.

  • Bruce Dickinson would take the vocals on this song to a whole other level of awesomeness!!

  • Jeff Scott Soto is great singer! wonderful! I knew him not singing, I really liked!

  • In Japan all lives are epic.

  • fuck does anyone think the singer sounds kinda off key?

  • 1:36 is nuckin futs. That Swede sure knows how to shred.

  • Try watching jeff scott soto sing this with his own band from the" live at the gods 2002" dvd, still awesome, the dude can still do it

  • Soto has to have THE. FUCKING. BEST. live voice of ANY. FUCKING. metal band there is/was/ever will be. I've never heard live vocals as good as this dude.

  • @FeMaiden6212

i agree dude i personally think dio has one of the best voices in metal although live, i hate saying, dio sucks. when it comes to being onstage this guy blows dio away

  • @Morkadov dude, 100% agreed. He doesn't SUCK live, but he's so much better on the records.

  • @Morkadov Lets not forget Bruce Dickinson. The old Dickinson from the 80s. Anymore he's starting to sound too strained and can't keep his vibratos near as good. Sotos been around nearly as long and can still sing like he did in this vid. Dio was great in the studio, much like Dragonforce, but onstage they can't compete with Soto.

  • @FeMaiden6212

true true. lets not also forget jeff tate though from queensryche. (at least i think thats how you spell it) the man was a vocal genius when he made operation mindcrime back in the 80s. although now hes not as good but he still delivered at mindcrime at the moore on dvd

  • @Morkadov It's Geoff Tate.

  • @Moh1Z no ,this is JSS ( Jeff Scott Soto)

  • @Freyja1133 I know. I was answering to the other comment.

  • 5 dislike = 5 justin beiber fans

  • They should have a soundbyte that plays this song next to the word "metal" in the Dictionary. it truly is the definition.

Soto and Malmsteen can't be beat

  • Am I not seeing a scalloped fretboard? Well, this IS 1985 and he probably either couldn't afford to have all his guitars done or didn't have the time to do it himself.

  • Are the vocals really live? Cause it's fuc*ing PERFECT!

  • I want the voice of Rj here.

  • @alesmith95 I want Jorn Lande to be Yngwie 's frontman !!

  • I agree w.the comments below... Soto was Yngwie's best singer!

  • A black guy with a freaking afro singing "I am a viking" doesn't give much credit to the song. xD

  • @SpectralUltra ooh com´n man, the first viking in America was a black guy, don´t you know nothing about history? hahaha..........just kidding. But I think Jeff isn´t a black guy, he is more a latino guy.

  • @SpectralUltra First,Jeff is not Black are you blind? He's mixed.Second guess you must be white so go sing the song lets see if you give more credit to it,Why said racist crap ?Jeff is the best malmsteen singer by far.His voice of mixed race kick ass of any "vicking" singer.Growww man ...gfroww up.

  • @beroth77 JSS is half puetro rican& half black you dim wit !

be careful of what you say about viking singers! we can& will shove a sword in your gullet!

  • @beroth77 JSS is half puetro rican& half black you dim wit !

be careful of what you say about viking singers! we can& will shove a sword in your gullet ! And Either spell Viking correctly ,or go back to 1 st grade !

  • @beroth77 I'd have to agree with YJM in this case.... But only for his first two solo lps

I know that.. I know that there aren't any Vikings..only those who are of Viking blood

    RJD? I doubt it...different voices& ranges....

    Ego,yes.... especially in Yngwie's case

  • @Freyja1133 yes,the two first two albubs are the best ask anyone...who is a malmsteen fan...he always make some good songs in these new albuns...but is not the same.YesMaybe Dio wouldn't work in makmsteen band i say mostly by ego of both sides...but see dio worked with Blackmore and Yommi(mainly Blackmore has a huge ego) ad it work out for 3 years resulting on awreome records,But we never know that ,,,And Dio 's range would surprise um my friend belive me ,peace

  • @beroth77 Have you forgotten that RJD died last eyar? how could his range suprise YJM at this point?

    maybe a valkyries singer ? '

My ego is that if YJM's gets out of hand..mine will knock it down

  • THis was and still is METAL.. sum of Malmsteens best work.. HE really brought out the best in us METAL players in the 80;s when he dropped his first two albums... a true Guitar great and inspiration to all us 80s Rock guitarists....Peace

  • i think mark boals is the best

  • I like Jeff Scott Soto rather than Yngwie.

  • I like Jeff Scott Soto rather than Yngwie.

  • @jason430305

They do 2 different things... You can't compare them.

  • BEST YNGWIE´S SINGER

  • ...my mind is set to kill !!!

  • Next life Iwant the talent and the asian women

  • every time I listen to this song, i think "man, wouldn't it be best if Dio sang it?" his voice would be perfect for a tune like this :)

  • @beefcake0354 best i dont know, but i really like to see that! Unfornatly theres a stupid thing called cancer that killed one of the best metal singers EVER!

  • @beefcake0354 It 's to late for that to happen

But,i don;t think that RJD could sing this song... it's in a different style than he was used to singing

  • @beefcake0354 me too dude! lol!

  • im really2 like this song N the enviroment chords

  • exelente video, but I know how I can download

  • my favourite song!

  • When did Slash stop playing guitar and start singing? ;)

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 --LOL nice, cool words!

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 when he saw yngwie playing :)

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 that's not slash ,you GNR Appologist !

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 When he realized he could never achieve Yngwie's level

  • Jeff is probably like 20 years old here, and that means Yngwie would be 22 or 23... amazing how young they were really.

  • Fucking yeaahhhhhhhhh, good guitar interpretation and vocals, and one of the best Yngwie´s songs. From the Marshing Out album, Heavy Metaaaaaaal´s Fuckng Great

  • My favorite Yngwie song but the worst solo in my opinion.

He is capable of doing better justice.

  • @MultiTimL Worst solo????????, Fuck you, that solo rocks, all Yngwie´s solos Rocks

  • dragon-ships are charging throu the waves...

  • Jeff Scott Soto is his best singer ever. He adds a whole other dimension to Marching Out, which is probably Yng's best album because of him.

  • i love this song

  • That tapping run to start the solo... So bitchin!

  • Favorite line " you are a loser, and it's such a shame that you're a fool and you don't know"

  • Best guitar solo ever :)

  • I wonder why Yngwie kicks his singers out and hires new ones.

  • The lyrics... That´s poetry.

  • One of my favorite Yngwie songs.. Scalloped frets!!

  • AMAZING shredder....

  • Jeff later went on and joint Journey, if you can believe it!

  • 2:16 fuck yeah man

i only like 2 albums by yngwie really, trilogy and marching out

  • Jeff Scott Soto!!!

  • "Nä nu jävlar, nu JÄVLAR asså!"

  • So corny but awesome. I love this shit.

  • Jeff Scott Soto, the best singer of Malmsteen

  • @nachofilo

nope.. Jørn Lande was definitly the best one.. On his 2000 tour

  • @nachofilo True, but it looks like he's lip synching here.

  • @nachofilo I totally agree with that.

  • u know what thıs yngwie is not a HUMAN...

ıdk what it is but absolutly not a human dude ...

  • Yngwie is god, and Jeff Scott soto is his perfect singer. This is a fucking beast of a song.

  • @NisseEricsson ganska rätt

  • @NisseEricsson I fucking agree with that :D

  • @NisseEricsson Definitely my favorite!

  • i wanna see some of the modern high tec guitar gods like vai and satriani play that good with a REALLY distortion, crazy.efect free dist,......i assure you all, the would sound like shit xD.......just think about it, this sounds REAL,

  • Melhor do MUNDO !!

  • The singer is called Jeff Scott Soto.

  • Yngwie's best singer!!! Great range and tone. He hits the high notes and still sounds like a man. Rare.

  • True, he sounds very metal. The only Yngwie-singer I've actually liked.

  • This song pumps me up every time I hear it. Man I loved seeing him in cincinnati back the day after fire and ice was released . Goran did a great job on this song!

  • genial

  • lolz u guyz are dumbassessss ..... yngwie is not playin guitar right?? lol whats the point of it.. a rock legend on a show , doing like he plays but he doesnt.. ? weirdos! anyway these guys are great... except for jeff's pink girl's shirt.. i think that even my grandma would not wear that shit lol

  • quanta tamarra fierezza in questo epico brano

    \m/ è_é \m/

  • Great vid, but what a bunch of serious morons posting. You ALL are unworthy. Go fuck off.

  • And you are worthy?

  • Yes, I am worthy. I am a viking. And by my sword you will die.

  • And you smoke your shorts too.

  • And you smoke bone. Ain't this fun. Arguing like bitches, on the web.

  • Yeah its cool. i actually saw this band back then. The singer was great..But yngwie OVER PLAYED.

  • I didn't see them then, but my guitarist did....came back with a big boner over Yngwie's playing. I think most people react to Yngwie as you, they think he's great, but a bit much.

  • yngwie isn't even playing! his guitar isn't even plugged in you dumb-butt fart-heads!!!!

  • Are you retarded?

  • yea he is, he's got a wireless cord that straps 2 his waist and it sends a signal back to the reciever plugged into the amp... dipshit lol

  • actually those recievers are meant to be strapped to the back of his strap so he does not trip on the cord

  • Ahh but u kinda figure if he don't got a plug that's goin 2 the amp it's the wireless cables

  • the '85 stands for 19hundred85 idiot! those wern't even invented back then!!! get your facts checked!!! IDIOT!!!.

  • It wasn't? Fuck off.

  • Ken Shaffer-A lifelong amateur radio enthusiast, in the 1970s he invented a low-noise/wide dynamic range wireless microphone and then a wireless guitar system. He made more than a thousand microphones (at $4,400 each). Among the first bands to adopt the Schaffer system were the Rolling Stones. Mick Jagger used when he danced around the stage, as did nearly every other major touring rock group in the 70s and 80s.

  • @zephmann he is fuckin plugged in its a thing players use who move round a lot called a radio transmitter

  • hmmm in some scenes of this vid, it looks like soto's miming

  • Bad sync in the vid.

  • aahhh

  • I think Yngwie were a good player in that time

  • He's still a good player:P

  • what a voice!!!

  • awesome singer!!!

  • Jeff Scott Soto!!!!!! What a rock voice. Very talented.. I saw malmsteen with Steve Vai and Joe satriani G3 And well Malmsteen over played to much way too much Ruined the show. When they breaked to do their own stuff during the show it was much better ,. But when they played together He over played. It sucked.

  • agreed ..... terrible together.

advice to all up and coming musicians: Go to as many "open jams" as possible so you can LEARN how to play and interact with other musicians. Sitting in a bedroom 8-10 hours a day working on chops isn't enough. If you can't put it in a musical context and you end up walking all over what the other players are doing ... it ends up terrible

I though Yngwie ended up sounding like a 12 year old in that jam. what a shame, cause he's SUCH a monstrous player.

    JAM!

  • He is also super rich so all that time in the bedroom paid off some how. :)

  • true true! :)

just such a monster playing when he's the main guy ... but we all know playing with other guitarist can be rough.

one thing i recommended to friends/ students is when jammin with another guitarist and its your time to play the rhythm and the other guy to solo ... just roll off the tone level completely. Volume can then stay the same without stepping all over the other guy.

or just roll off the vol a little ... but some guitarists have an inability to do that. ha ha!

    :)

  • These are professionals man...they know what they're doing

  • Awesome!

  • the one and only who matters the maestro at his

  • He was a much more disciplined player back then. His fingering had machine like precision.

  • i totally agree with you. i actually mentioned something similar on another video about yngwie being a much better player when he was younger as opposed to today. he's sloppy now.

  • you know what i think it was man? before he got in the fucking car wreck he was flawless. afterwards he became very sloppy and undisciplined.

  • the car crash affected him, but he is still a monster imo - his phrasing is always killer... can't teach that

  • I've got this on VHS , Yngwie's performance sucked so bad that he overdubbed most if not all of it , I aseptically like the parts when he's shredding while his hands aint even on the guitar lmao

  • you fucking retard, dont you realize the gig was filmed from two separate performances, he does this a lot in his live dvds/vhs, its dubbed with separate gig with music from the latter sometimes, you cant overdub a live sound and making it sound obvious, and its obvious this is not overdubbed in the studio.

  • Thank you for re-stating the obvious , I also find it fascinating that in 1985 when this video was released by PMV you were not even born yet.

  • haha.. doesnt surprise me at all.. every artist does that at some pont in there lives.. haha. its only a matter of time
