Having trouble with the laser shutting off when the gun fires AGAIN (second laser). I called smith and wesson and was put on hold while being told every 3 minutes that "a customer service agent would be with me shortly" then, after 55 minutes I was told to call back later and disconnected. words can't describe how posed off I am right now.
its a double sided sword, pocket pistols are....an enemy cant see it giving you an advantage, BUT having a visible say 1911, an enemy is less likely to rob someone they know has a gun. not dissing pocket pistols tho im trying to get a Taurus pt22, but just an opinion. plus if the criminal is on crack or something, i don't think it matters if ur gun is out lol
Remove takedown pin and slide/barrel action and look down in the frame housing and you will see the lid compartment for batteries. Use the provided Allen wrench to remove lid.
Great review! I currently own a beretta PX4 storm subcompact in .40 cal but I'm thinking it will be a little to big to carry in some situations. I'm thinking about buying a small .380 to carry when I can't carry my .40. Right now I'm looking at this and a kel-tec PF9. I'd love to know what you think and see if you have any other suggestions.
@Yesterdayslunch90 Ive been looking at these as well. I shot the kel-tec a couple days ago and i hated it. the trigger pull is long and hard, it jammed on my 3 times in about 10 shots. Was not impressed at all. Although i haven't shot the bodyguard, it looks like a much much better gun.
I like the gun and the review was pretty decent however I do have to say, although I am not knocking you but as soon as I saw nutnfancy's talking points I was turned off. I wanted to hear your review.
Please post any problems. I just put a deposit down on one for my wife. The video with the slide detaching on the 3rd shot has me palming my face now! Thanks great video!
That was an issue when S&W first released the Bodyguards (takedown pin coming out while firing). Specifically with the EAA# Serials. Anything that has a serial number with EAG# or above should have all the kinks worked out.
Great review! Thanks. I just purchased the BG380 two weeks ago. My only complaint was that the buttons to activate the laser were hard to useI contacted S&W customer support, who sent me new buttons within three days. The new buttons work perfectly now. IMHO, the BG 380 is one of the best looking guns in its class, and has a great price (MSRP is $399, April 2011). I like the fact that it locks open on last round, has the extended plate and has the integrated laser.

i prefer revolvers... more accurate and the reload time disadvantage can be minimized with speedloaders/jetloaders and plenty of practice!

This is the gun I plan to buy next. Thank you for the review. The only question I have is...where is the battery compartment for the laser?

Nice video bad gun
I had a second generation model and still junk
Trigger failed first 50 shots. Ooops I'm dead
Then after they repaired it the gun kept misfiring or denting the case but not hard enough to fire. Ooops dead again
I got my money back right from Smith and Wesson and bought a Kahr. 380
