  • i hare morality preachers

  • Doom is not the problem its just a freaking game god dang it

  • Hey retard politicians

  • Doom is not the reason why this happened. It was the carelessness of Eric's and Dylan's parents. Letting them listen to ICP, Marilyn Manson, letting them play doom without any guidance blinds them from their better judgement. If they got help from their parents about the bullying and let them know it's wrong to kill people, then maybe this wouldn't have happen. Parents aren't doing their jobs nowadays which saddens me very deeply.

  • These PEOPLE need to MAKE THE GAMES THEMSELVES AND STOP BITCHING ABOUT EVERYONE ELSES!!!!

  • I bet they eat poptarts as much if not more then doom. I guess PopTarts cause Columbine.

  • in my personal opinion video games especially violent ones help because if you think about it it ca calm you doen by killing unreal people some people who are messed up might just act on what they feel but if they kill something without actually injuring live things people are safe

  • The people at columbine had major metal problems. Doom was just the medias scapegoat. Games can't make people killers. People with weak judgement and life problems kill people.

  • These people make me sick, the columbine had nothing to do with videogames, it was stress related, that is misused to prove a point. That had nothing to do with games and to be honest, these students are proving no point, I have yet to hear how violence relates to the videogames, they've only stated that games have violence in them, they are far from being professionals on the topic, they're jumping around the topic too much.

  • Thank-you for the videos, this needs looking at away from politics, as that is a corrupt and self-serving, hypocritical arena.

I would like to see more research looking at the effect of the media upon the imagination, coupled with emotional response, coupled with alteration within ethical behaviour patterns.

I am a former video game industry worker and gamer.

I came out of a trance about 3 years ago.

Many games are now grossly violent.

  • The majority of comments on videos of this type will be negative, from gamers of course.

The broad majority are incapable of objective analysis, as they are in a trance like state and accept this activity as perfectly normal, due to conditioning.

A conditioned response is difficult at first to see beyond.

To snap out of the trance, I would suggest thinking long and hard about the effects of what we feed our imagination on and what role the imagination serves within our whole being.

  • Gaming within itself is morally neutral, but gaming trends, in my estimation have developed to include that which leads to immoral wilful behaviour, even in a virtual world. A decision making process and subsequent action still take place regardless.

The games are also tedious and repetitive beyond the eye candy; most being designed with similar goals in a new frock.

I now see few benefits to squinting at a display "destroying stuff" - "because its fun" is no real explanation.

  • come on.... weres the parents, i mean these kids made bombs and were were the parents, wtf ?!?! Doom is the least of the cause

  • they were desterbed in the 1st place.

  • i dont really like that mother, but she realizes that the parents are the ones that need to take responsibility and i agree

  • they both had mental illness's how to can u blame games for 2 messed up kids

  • lol in doom you kill monsters, that can't surely be bad?

  • yeah, your killing the deamons of hell, how can that be bad ?

  • at that period in time, you would be very surprised. back when Doom was released, it was the source of controversy and is still criticized by religious groups today and oddly enough Jack Thompson as well as parents that do not check the content of the games played. and Doom contained files that could be modded and people actually created their own maps and modded the enemies to look like real people or animals or whatever.

  • it normally isnt but if a parent doesnt teach kids the differance between fantasy and reality then that could cause a few disturbing problems and the reason doom got blamed is because the 2 guys that did the Columbine massacre were HUGE fans of Doom which I played growing up and I didnt go on a violent rampage, now I did get expelled for saying a Duke Nukem 3d catchphrase to a teacher that kinda looked like a hooker.

  • violent games actually make me less violent. They are the good way to take stress off.

  • indeed.violent video games are made to do things you are not allowed to do in real life.i love them

  • lol yeah

  • And THERE is STILL NO PROOF that Video games make people violent up to this day. Only crap they have is some idiot brain-waves test they perform to see if there waves go up after a game but doesn't prove jackshit. If video games were the cause dont you think we have dozens & dozens of shootings every year nonstop? millions play games yet and out of those millions one person decides to shoot and people blame games.

  • there's a Columbine RPG?

  • the stupidity of this documentary is absolute infinite like Alber Einstein proclames "The univers is infinite like humans stupidity."

  • fucking bullshit ted bundy, jeffery dahmer, john wayne gacy, and ed gien. didnt play video games at all and they commited some of the most horrie crimes ever they didnt even watch violent movies. real life neglect abuse and sheltering children is what turns kilers into killers.

  • This video series is total crap. Kids don't need to play a good majority of these mature rated games, but it's not because it will transform them into maniacal murderers. It just isn't healthy to see such realistic graphic violence, and that applies to all forms of media, not just games. This made my stomach turn when the makers of this crapumentary showed Columbine footage, these fools are really reaching with the lame scare tactics. It's not the gaming industry's job to raise kids.

  • violent videogames dont make violent peapole.

    VIOLENT PEAPOLE MAKE VIOLENT PEAPOLE!!!!!

  • i play on voilent games dusent make me wont to go shoot some one your just crazy its not games datdoo dat

  • I know, right?

  • Teachers, parents, students; they all just wanted a simple answer.

    Fuck em'.

  • SHE IS A FUCKING NOOB at that game JESUS I CAN PLAY THAT WITH MY EYE'S CLOSED

  • Violent people turn to violent things. They don't become violent because of them. Playing violent video games and listening to violent music doesn't make you want to go shoot up your school. People that do go and shoot up their schools like those things because they can relate to them since they're filled with anger and hate. If you don't dream about killing people from the start you won't start dreaming about it just because you play Doom.

  • saying games make murders sounds like FUCKING lame excuse
