I remember this as part of a 30 minute david holmes non stop mad music sweep in one of pete tongs friday night essential selection programmes in 93.....used to have all of it on tape but lost the friggin thing.....anyone remember and more importantly able to upload it on here?
The euphoric flute-like melody starting at about 6 and half minutes is beautifully uplifting to me. I've been whistling it every now and then, over the years, and it always makes me feel so happy. (I'm surprised I actually still remember it so well.) When I whistle it, I remember the incredible feelings that I had at those warehouse parties in Toronto; WHAT A RUSH!!!
@countersignal this flute tune is from the original soundtrack of the movie "once upon a time in america" composed by Ennio Morricone, the track is called "Poverty" try searching it here on youtube if you like it.
@Necriptos thanx for the info. I had a listen to Ennio Morricone's original, and the disco evangelists I wondered how a song titled '...poverty' could make me feel so happy?
When I have some time I would like to see the movie. I'm curious-I wonder if the famous actor DENIRO is in it since this track is named 'Deniro'?
House will never be like this again! this is when house and the dance scene was ace! 92-94.... the dance scene has sold out now! too many greedy people for my liking! God give me the 90's scene anyday!!!! none of this shite thats out now!
@numptyarse1 86-93 best years proper acid house right through drum & bass & techno. no fucking R & B. N.W.A would have shit on that sound. Anyway never lose your hardcore. G.

loved this track, loved the arts college too, sugar sweet, base, etc those days where hard to beat, proper ecstacy and such an atmosphere, ian mcready homer and davy anderson etc rocked that place everytime

this is the only mix you guys need to know, the best one around! remember queing up at art college yrs ago just to get in and listen to all these great tracks homer served it to the crowd!
big time, i really miss the old days of getting ass dressed up, getting into the art college, getting wasted then your brand spanking new clothes went to mush cus of that manky hallway, but did we care? not one bit!
and that was some queue!! used to be mental outside it from real early in the evening lol homer owned that place full stop! some crazy times in there!!
lol totally, pulled some faces sitting there while talking to the most random of people, it really was a mad mix and match from hoods to hairdressers it had all types! kids these days really dont know what they missed. youtubes full of 30something ex ravers reminising haha!!

I got this around when I first started DJ'ing off the Sasha and Digweed Renaissance CD set. STILL in love with this.
Raver's from the 90's, claim it like hippies from the 60's do. Magical times.
