This is the first time that I hear this song. I don't think it's so bad. I've heard better but I've also heard much, much worse. C'est la première fois que j'entend cette chanson. Ce n'est pas un chef-d'oeuvre mais c'est loin d'être un désastre.
I never heard this song until now. I was afraid to think at first I was the only fan of Mireille that didn't like it! But I read the comments and see I have allies... I don't think she sings it badly, it's just a bad song - cheesy music, cheesy words, cheesy orchestration. Just a wrong song for her, never mind English or French... Well, I guess everyone is entitled to occasional flops... That's what makes the good stuff even better.
I think this was written by Phil Coulter and Bill Martin who wrote Cilla Black's 1969 smash hit, Surround Yourself with Sorrow. Listen to Cilla and I'm sure you'll agree. I love Mireille, and this is a good find. Is it available on disc?
