  • Where's the rest? Nice!

  • The chord after the C is similar to a Major Bar Chord, but turned into an Open C formation.

    ( E A D G B e) 6 6 5 3 3 3

665 with middle, ring, and pinky such as any bar chord, and Bar 2 frets under, rather than 1. I couldn't play the chord until i figured that way out.

  • a guitar is like a women in many ways. Hold her in your arms and if she feels right then shes the one for you. Treat her with respect and care and she will play beautiful music. If you leave her strung out she will let you down and if she becomes warped or twisted, you can remove her neck.

  • try guitarmanual.typepad.com/blog/ for beginner lessons or google guitar manual blog and see first result

  • Nice. Good job. Thanks for posting.

  • thank u so much for this video, im about to play tht for a girl...

  • Good lesson, I think the STP really plays it that way, but that E-flat 7M chord shape is killing me. I prefer using this shape: XX1333 wich is technically the same chord, am I right? X68786 works for me too

  • @fazcuna Close enough for rock and roll!

  • @fazcuna Technically, 3X1333 would be a little closer.

  • ty 4 upload

  • it's both fascinating and embarassing to realize i'd always been playing it G/F#/D/F/Em, not C/E. do'h!!

STP always has interesting chords in their songs... try interestate love song, there's some crazy stuff in that one.

  • interstate love song is a fantastic song to play. almost all the chords are jazz chords, only stp can make that fit into a rock song

  • i read somewhere that the deleo brothers originally wrote it as a bossa nova. i would LOVE to hear that version.

  • so where's the rest? :P

  • Clearly explained...Thanks for the post.

  • Why call it Eb instead of D#. Or does it not matter much what you use..?

  • In this case it doesn't matter.

  • Eb and D# are the exact same note because there is only a half step between D and E so D# sharp basically just doesnt exist everyone just says Eb

  • its a whole step between D and E.... B/C and E/F are halfs... so Cb and B are the same and Fb and E are the same.. as B# is C and E# is F. these exist only in theory to keep the chormatic steps in order with the alphabet(no triple sharps or triple flats)when figuring out triads,7ths,9ths,13ths.

  • the cycle of fifths!

  • @sangolt88

Its an enharmonic tone. They are the same thing. For most purposes it is simply what you are custom to calling it.

  • why is your action so low

  • That's the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.

  • Thanks man.

  • your sound is coming out in mono on the left channel and very very low

  • LOL! 2:20 lift your middle finger!

  • cool! thanks!

i always wondered bout the e-flat chord!

    now i got it!

  • What a genius chord progression! Amazing composition in this song.

  • Agreed 100%

STP was truely an all-genius band if you ask me. The guitar player thinks about every string when he writes, the chromatic downward progression is just perfect in this song.

The bass player especially amazes me in this song and all the other songs for that matter, that guy knows how a bass should carry a song, just genius

  • @SoilentGr33n you're really right. I've just heard the bassline of Plush, and it's complex but not complicated, and goes along well with the song rhytm

  • @SoilentGr33n I totally agree with you ! Individually the guys in the band are great musicians, but even better when playing together. Kinda like watching FC Barcelona play football. I play the bass myself and I´m amazed about the intelligence behind the melodic movement - now I´ve started playing guitar, but man... those chords are tough to spot, so thx for posting this.

  • Yeah I just watched Dean DeLeo in one of their performances and indeed he uses 365333 instead of x65333. Other than that great job man..you rule!!

  • that's because you can grab it better and tour wrist does not break!

  • at 2;17 you have to bar the entire 3rd fret to play the actual chord correct. but thanks for helping others.

  • n1 dude thx

  • Great talking bout the "in the bass" stuff, most are not aware of that sort of thing. Can be done with loads of songs as long as the bass notes are accessable near the cords your performing. Loads of Zep. and Beatles songs and things of that nature can be played with/without bass notes. Awsome job man, keep up with the free exchange of knowledge. You are good people.

  • thanks for the upload

  • dude the punch on the chromatic was not even apparent to me on the real thing! your totally top five..

  • Thanks a LOT!!!!

  • good lesson!

  • thank you very much! Exact 100%!

  • Well done. Ive been wanting to learn this song and now I can accurately.

    Thanks much!!!
