just so i understand this.. this amp, a computer..plug it in, and BAM you got yourself a "home recording studio" ??. well i mean as far as guitarrecording goes;-) recording bass and voc w/ this littly thingy would be pretty hard! hahaha
@jwebsmall It's an 812V from a 4-5 ago. It's stock apart from the bridge pickup is a Duncan Screamin' Demon (std was a JB) and the natural finish was never available in a production 812V.
@spudy44 You should contact the place you bought it and ask them for the updated power supply. Was it us you bought it from? If so use the 'Contact' page andertons co uk to get in touch
@spudy44 if the powersupply is the older type that causes the buzzing they should replace it (that's what we're doing for our customers) free of charge but you'll have to ask them and see.
I can't even find this, where can I buy one and can it plug in to an electrical out put or do you have to use batteries or a laptop? Also what is the price range for this?? Thanks :)
Hi guys, thanks for your review, it's really useful. Could you tell me what kinda batteries and how many does it need? How long do they last? thanks in advance cheers
@chrissuddes we're due a big delivery any day but half of that delivery is already reserved for preorders so you would be better preordering it now search our website andertons dot co dot uk to find the product page.
Whats with that awfull buzz issue for price payed. Many other smaller amps maybe dont have that many things integrated but that buzz sound that the guy at left try to volume down between each demo is rly to much for the money payed! Sad othervise would be promising little fella sad, sad. The buzz set in as soon you stop playin your guitar which is by the way recorded through microphone.......
@stoofbuis unfortunately it doesn't have speaker outs. Even if it did it would be somewhat against the raison d'etre of this amp which is to sound good as quiet as possible!
has nobody noticed how noisy it is? there's always a buzz when the guitar payer stops playing. and the guy on the left promptly turns down the volume...
@sebaseba33 There was trouble with the power supplies of the initial batch that caused noticeable hum but this problem has since been rectified with improved power supplies.
@sebaseba33 i tried one.. there was lots of hum because of the gain .. but my marshall puts out lots of hum when i am close to it and i have a high gain sound...i turned it down to ac/dc type overdrive and it was fine
@fraidwoodcesco the THR10 has 2x3" speakers based on the high end stereo systems from Yamaha. Point is isn't suppose to be pushing out air like a Guitar normally amp does but to provide the finished and polished sounds you would listen to on a high end stereo system if you were listening to something allready mixed and mastered.
@sebaseba33 not always, it depends on how the pickups are wound, wired, and their magnetic polarity. that humbucker could be wired to auto-split in the "in between" positions as well. lots of possibilities there.
lol, i hadn't seen someone puting a mic in front of such small speakers before! I guess it could be usefull for practising or playing outdoors, like in a street or with a small group of friends...
tried this amp out today , can't believe the tones that i got out of the thing , bought one straight away ,if you want great blues and rock tones in a practise amp this is it ,react's just like an real valve amp when cranked up and at bedroom volumes.
With some people all you have to do is say the word "modeling" and they go and shove their heads up their rears regardless of what it actually sounds like.
But can you take your Tonelab and monitor speakers outside, or backstage to warm up with, or to a friends place to rehearse with, or run it on batteries, or get a proper valve response, or get a comprehensive Cubase package, and ...etc etc....I'm not saying there are not alternatives..I'm just saying this is the best i've ever used..simple as.
I have played one and they sound AMAZING!!! Don't be fooled by the mic'd up sound on the video...it doesn't capture the stereo spread or the bass response too well. The audio playback is as good as a Bose Idock system and it comes with Cubase AI for free so you can record direct to your computer. What's not to like??? Or you could just stick to your 'great' processed sounding modelling L***e 6 boxes! ha...
you are very lucky then, since the rest of the guitar playing world has to wait until they are launched. Everybody, when they want to prove a point always compares stuff to Line 6 knowing that Line 6 have not got the greatest rep for amp modelling. For £300 you can get the Vox Tonelab ST and a decent set of monitor speakers for your computer and download some free receording software off the web.

@BradleyJohnHunt That really depends. Single coils on high gain are always noisy in general. Then, you have to take into consideration what lights and other electronics and equipment they may be surrounded with. And in some areas of some countries single coils will hum even worse than in other areas of those same countries because of the way the electricity is cycling in the local power grid. There are many variables.
There are bass, acoustic, and flat (keyboard) amp models, can we hear a demo? Also, is the THR10 10W or 10W per speaker (the official site has the same specs for both)?
Nice to see an andertons original video, it's impossible to judge properly the sound but it looks awful. I have no problem with vintage but looks like something a granny would have in her house.

Sorry but this is the worst amp i have heard in 20 years of playing. Sounds like its being played through a turn of the 20th century mono radio that my mum used to have in the kitchen. And £299 retail - you gotta be joking. I feel sorry for the Capt'n, he has got to try and sell these things. Seriously if you have 250 quid burning a hole in your pocket, then there are better amps out there. Even better modelling amps.
@flatfoot1983 No, nothing to do with me! My gut feeling is it's designed to fill a room with sound the same way DAB radios are, I want to hear one when I next visit as your getting a lot for your money here. If it is designed that way it will be very hard to record with a mic on the cone, it will need a good room mic and a good sounding room to get a true sonic picture. Interesting concept at a unbelievable price....
@maplewoodstudio Thanks a lot for the explanation. I was quite sure the Cap'n wouldn't feint excitement over an amp that sounds so gutless and pure-treble in real life.
LOL, Yeah i play one all the time. When i am finished gigging at the weekend I rush home to plug in my Yamaha Amp Radio with 2" speakers to spend some quality time with my guitar. You cant tell exactly the sound quality from youtube but Andertons usually do a good job of mic'ing up the amps. It sounds like what it is - a modelling effects pedal through tiny speakers that runs on batteries. There are much better options for people with £300 to spend. Just my opinion
