Just so everyone knows, you can also go to the Lover's Guardian Stone to get the lover's comfort buff permanently if you don't wanna go through the marriage crap and need to rest whenever you want the buff. However you can only have one Guardian stone buff at a time.

@ShottySniperz401 You can only marry certain characters, but you do have the freedom to choose who from that list (Currently, there are no Khajits or Wood Elves available). You need to a quest for them sometimes before you can ask them though. For example, I married Aela the Huntress from the Companions, but you have to do all the Companions quests before you can propose to her.
