me gustari poder conseguir la partitura de esta cancion para coro mixto alguien, la tiene que me la podria fascilitar? / I wish I could get the score of this song for mixed chorus someone, you could get it to me?
Love this, and have listened to it over and over. I've watched the facial expressions with fascination and finally decided the actual words must be found somewhere. Found them, and guess what! Oya Oya actually appears in the lyrics! Well, the first one does anyway, but the lyrics don't have one at the end. Has anyone got the final version which made it to CD?
olala moi je fais ça je me perd dans les voix!!! mais j'adore c'est trop beau je suis cap' de l'écouter de millions de fois sans me lasser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
heres my theory on the oja 1:36 part. this is all just a rehearsal, just like the other video Bastiao. At the very end of that video Paul Phoenix says,"it's getting better".I think they're all just being critical of eachother trying to figure out what they like and dislike.i mean the oja itself comes out of no where as far as the call and response is concerned.and not that I would EVER be too critical of ks since they are great, but stephen didn't really sing that with the best feel.just an idea
Well, now you've just said it, I'm seeing it too. And you see the face of Christopher turn from a smile into a 'thinking face'. I think Stephen did something wrong, maybe he's supposed to sing a line instead of Ojaoja. Hmm, mysterious...
Ok, so around 1:36, Stephen has a little solo. Then he looks at Philip...and Philip gives him this little shrug back, making it look like Stephen messed something up a little. Just wondering if anyone else noticed. It's driving me nuts trying to figure out what that meant.
DAMN! Yup... I noticed too... and it drives me nuts as well!
Maybe Mark26111984 with his theory about how Stephen was supposed to sing something different from his "Oja-oja"...
Actually... another thing I noticed is that around 3:10, Stephen is not paying attention after the instrumental bridge, so when everyone starts singing again, he reacts like "Oh, right! We' re singing! ehem..." Anyone else noticed?
@atrienna I noticed that face, too. It's hilarious!!! Christopher too looked at him in a perplexed way... And did you see stephen smiling as he was thinking: "oh sh*t, I wasn't meant to do this..."?
It's not "galaico-portugues". It's 16th century creole from Guinea (Crioulo da Guiné). The accent needs improvement. The vowels are too short. I haven't researched the subject with depth but that's not what crioulo sounds like. It has much more open and long vowels. Anyway what they miss in pronunciation they make up in a great feeling for the luso-african rythm.

what language is this
Lenangreal 2 months ago
@Lenangreal It's a humorous imitation of the 'macaronic' Portuguese that African slaves spoke in 17th century Portugal.

@suzie106 I do! You can get the CD on iTunes: L'Arpeggiata- Los Imposibles. And the Oya at the end is on there.

Then at 2.28, at the musical break, Philip and Christopher look over to Paul's music to check his edition.
