I totally agree. It sounds haunted and mystical, gothic and cold, as oppose to warm and fussy like many other Christmas songs. Her voice sounds very much like how Sirens (of Greek mythology) would be protrayed. She has a beautiful voice, though.

The reason it is not warm and fussy is because it is not a Christmas song but an Advent song expressing the heartfelt longing of the people for the coming of the the Christ, Emmanuel. This is one of my all time favourite hymns and I adore the way Enya gets that feeling of longing and expectancy spot on.

No, I meant the way the song is composed here. Other versions I've heard have different feel than this one. I totally understand the meaning of it though. I also wait for Christ, the Messiah to return. This is also one of my favorite Christmas songs; the most beautiful IMO.
