Damn all who hate the prequels. Those of you who do, it was YOU who killed Star Wars. You all took the childhood of two generations, and just threw it down the toilet, all because of your whining and bitching. Sure, the Blu Ray changes aren't my favorite things in the world, but it's his freaking movies. If he wants to go back to them, I say let him. Thanks to all you trolls, the next trilogy is dead. Lucasfilm is dead. Star Wars is dead. All you Prequel Haters are not true fans. You did this.
It's Sad. And all you so called Star Wars fans that hate the prequels, You aren't Star Wars fans. You would like them for what they are. Yes Episode I was slow starting, but when you watch them in order you see it's like a book, Starts slow then gets right into all the great stuff we love! I think he is done with star wars movies, but what about that TV show, that he's producing? That should be cool and The 3D re-releases! at least there are 6 3D films actually worth seeing for the next 6 years.
I really wanted to see some episodes that continue the story past episode 6. However, there would probably need to be new actors for Luke, Leia, and Han as they are gaining in age. I've read a lot of the books, i.e., the New Jedi Order, and I think that some of them would make for some great movie scripts.

J.J. Abrams doing a reboot/re-imagining of Star Wars but starting with Episode One this time around would be freaking sweet! (Maybe even get Peter Jackson in on it too)
I'm not exactly sad about it, but glad for him that he'll get some time away from SW. I've enjoyed all 9 movies he's made (I include the 2 Ewok Adventures and SW Holiday Special) & hope that if anymore do get made in the future, they're as good as--if not better than--the originals. 1 good thing I see from this: fans will now stop complaining about his minor changes.

I'm not a fan of all the merchandising. I think it's playing on people's nostalgia to package the newer toys in the old style cards. They should be a bit more creative.

I would like to see a show on the expanded universe like Darth Bane. I feel "anakins/vaders" story is at an end.

I love the idea of JJ directing some new Star Wars Flicks! I think SW will live on. Look at the games/comics/toys/and cartoons! Do you guys watch the Clone Wars? They’re good and he has a big part in that. Also if they can get the budgeting worked out they have 50 episodes scripted for a LIVE ACTION tv show! The big GL also is not done exactly, he plans to do some "artsy" movies, so with him saying he's retiring, I don't buy it. We will still see his influence in things to come.
Well its very risky to do another Star Wars saga in my opinion because it might mess up its legacy or something. Although there is a continuation of Star Wars via. Considering all the changes Lucas made to the original trilogy, I think he lost sight of what it was that made Star Wars so good, and what's more, his original success was a fluke. It took Irvin Kershner directing Empire to really give the movie the space opera feel that Lucas was going for. So thanks to Lucas for making the Star Wars saga, now let it go into the more capable hands of movie makers who can make it even better.

I want Old Republic movies, i think the series of movies now dont have a lot of story left to tell, but there is a 1000+ years to work with between those and the old republic...

Would have loved to see more Star Wars. It is sad, but he dose have a family to rase so it would be great for him to spend more time with them. ya know its hard to think about it but i think its time he did. his creativity has gone down and his ILM company was beating by weta workshop. his strong belief that the added scenes on the starwars movies are whats needed and he refuses to accept that the originals are the best work. even though he didnt direct either episode 5 and 6. i hope he lets a bigger and better person take over skywalker ranch and his empire

I would like more star wars as for George Lucas I think it's good he is retiring. I still wouldn't mind him producing some Old Republic movies. As for Angie I think your best bet would to look online. I know there is a lot of Star Wars choices on Amazon. Best of Luck in the search and you guys are AWESOME! Would have loved to see more Star Wars. It is sad, but he dose have a family to rase so it would be great for him to spend more time with them. Plus he has already proven himself, but at the same time he could always change his mind if a project he really wants to do comes along. Try starwars.com to look for a Vader Helmet or even Ebay or Amazon.

No, I would not like more star wars movies...mainly cause 9for the most part) the 6 movies tied things up VERY nicely. Star wars will always be cherished and known,but it is time to move on to different projects.

i think stars wars will always live on. the good bad and ugly, and of course the greatness(sorry sounded like a rock quote). lucas will be missed, and never forgotten (just like my grandma). i give him 3 month. he will be so bored he will lose his mind and come up with another universe to tell us about(wishful thinking).
