I do try my best not to be an old stick in the mud moaning about how much better artists were back in the day but... Jesus Christ... every second of this - the notes, the physicality, the feel, the emotion... etc etc - is riveting to the point of complete hypnosis. The art of performing a song is surely something in terminal decline; Simone here dismisses about 99% of the current crop with a mere twitch of her shoulder.
