Isn't it possible that the informants were being less than truthful, especially considering that many others who were present deny the mass killing happened? Wouldn't there be some evidence of this on the site. Couldn't some forensic archeological investigations be performed, to see if the story can be verified.

Nonetheless, there are now hundreds of web sites that cite the "Tantura massacre" as historical fact. And while Arab sources rushed into print to trumpet the news of Katz's thesis, none has mentioned the retraction save a few who cite it as an example of a massive coverup.

My father was a 17-year-old high school student when the massacre happened and he was placed in an Israeli concentration camp for two years, tortured and starved, so he weighed a mere 45 kg when he got back out, and all this just because he had the wrong ethnic background. Just because that side of the story didn't get earlier to you doesn't mean it wasn't there. My Dad has been publishing his experiences from the massacre for decades, e.g. in letters to editors of newspapers, in magazines such as the one from the German Association of Physicians, etc. Many of the other survivors used similar channels to get their story out. It's the Internet that helped to bring the truth to light during the past years as well as the work of peace organizations like Gush Shalom.
