There's a lot of of "she could have been..." when it comes to Courtney. But she's still a World Bars Champ, and Olympic Bars bronze medalist. World team champ and Olympic team silver. those are some major medals. Woot.
yeah but i dont think that she tumbles down the beam does she? she just roundoffs into it..still crazy hard but still easier than roundoff backhandspring or backhandspring backhandspring
I would say that the round-off entry is the hardest entry! It's a turning skill which means the athlete has to work that much harder to be square in order to enter the arabian correctly and on beam, the non-dominant foot is leading. The RO BHS is the same way but a little less difficult as you have time to square up after the round off. The BHS entry is probably the easiest b/c it generates power quickly and the dominant foot is leading. No matter the entry, the dismount is still nuts!
ummm...she wasnt injured..just so you know maybe your confused but she competed at the 04 olympics..their is footage if you would like to see for yourself
she was injured and competed...she competed with a fractured hip, but she didnt know that at the time..thats why she didnt do beam in team finals and was iffy for all around...plus it also gave her trouble on turns on floor. they mentioned her having an injury during the telecast but they didnt officially diagnose what it was until after the games.
ummm...she was injured.. with a hamspring injury to her hip which is why she placed 9th in the all around. even tho she was injured she still competed though! i not confused! =)
Can someone explain exactly what an Arabian is? I thought competitors turned to face the other way during a somersault. thanks.

I read that Samantha Peszek did an arabian double front off beam at the 2007 American Cup in qualifications.

Doesn't Rebecca Bross do one as well? I thought she did it at the Pan Am games this year.

is it just me or does it seem as if she was thinking about the dismount throughout this entire routine?
Smurfjr2000 4 years ago
