I just discovered her today.  I definitely have to hear her next time she's in my part o' the states. Jaw dropping (hey, mine did!) technique, vast musicianship (i.e., she's not just a high-precision note playing machine), remarkable warmth and interaction with the audience—Wow, just Wow!

I watched Gabriela play at Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Texas last night. She was magnificent! I felt quite at home with her as I also enjoy improvising.... usually at the behest of my fellow musician friends. Hearing familiar pieces gets boring so why not create a little drama! She is my new Piano Hero! Brava!!

Recuerdo que a esta mujer, cierto día en la Catedral de Cuernavaca, alguien le sugirió que improvisara sobre el tema de la quinta de Sibelius y mejor se hizo la que tenía problemas de audición y no entendía qué le pedían para zafarse del compromiso.

Aunque sea muy, muy buena, no es lo mismo medio metro de encaje negro...

Normalmente la gente que no sabe de música es la que tiene problemas serios en la cabeza con los comentarios como el mío. Seguro no has ido a conciertos de Aldo López Gavilán o Marian Petrescu.
