Buttheads... I had to use a proxy to view this from North America -- but anything to make my ex happy as I desperately latch onto any hope of her in my future.
Career CS/IT tend to view Apple gear as a necessary evil. The My First Computer for middle managers and other varieties of mindless retards who call a tower case a 'hard drive', that they can't break or infest *too* easily.
Simplest way to recognize NOC staff (or at least those with more than two brain cells to rub together) is to look for the two phones: one corp-issued BB/pager, and a personal Android device.
@redavatar Apart from Apple stuff being tremendously popular among IT folk and "hacker" (the real ones, not the script kiddies). Go to any security conference for example and you'll see oceans of glowing Apple logo's.
@TalesOfWar I've been to plenty of IT conferences and expositions thank you very much, and guess what? Using an iPhone there immediately makes you lose cred so I beg to differ. Everyone I know in the IT business uses Android phones, mostly HTC. That or Black Berry. But iPhones? Hell no - they're considered to be hipster toys for those who like to pay extra for pretty things with a popular brand. If you dared say to a hacker that they love Apple, you'd be leaving with your iphone in your ass.
@redavatar iPhone maybe (but that isn't because they're bad tools, but because the people using them are tools and they care more about making a statement AGAINST the iPhone as they belittle people who use them for). Macs on the other hand are everywhere at those kind of places.
Send a .exe in an sms to it, that would have broken an iPhone for the first six months after release. ^ ^
Not kidding, the phone would automatically run a .exe with admin privileges because they figured it would be easier to update the phone that way. Patch time was around six months for one of the most pathetic systems developed yet.}
Macs.. They're the same as an iPhone. You may not have realised but it's the same OS and UI, just different size. They're for arts students/hipsters
@FraggingBard iOS and Macs don't run exe files, so I don't know where you got that from. It's not the same UI. I have both, they're nothing alike apart from areas where it makes sense (like icons, layout - where it makes sense - navigation and so on). The underlying code for iOS is a stripped down OSX yes, but that's the brilliance of it. It makes it easier and faster to develop for it because it's based on tools and API's that already exist for the Mac platform.
Exe as in executable, like app for application. Should have left out the . I guess, my bad.
They are very alike, it's an Apple product and they're designed to be alike. You even say they're alike, icons, layout (so the UI), and the stripped down OSX. It's what makes them so useful for people with Macs is that they can pick them up and instantly know what they're doing. Same goes for the iPad.

My favourite line from the whole series:
"I may be able to get an iPhone without giving any money to Apple. I'll be living the dream!"

This is unrealistic. No self-respecting nerd would ever touch the evil that is Apple hardware.
