Does any one know i have like mold or fungi growing on a log and cant move it out of the tank with out destroying it how do you kil it while in tank i dont want it to kill my plants well it?
seriously none wants to here your dumb shit you talk abotu how you like to torment baby frogs and none thinks your cool for that its sick and cruel!!! seriously...
man how retarded do you think me and everyoen else is????? you did it!! you sent me a couple messages bout how you liek to torment frogs!! adn other people!! so just shut up man!
Oh and who ever whined about not holding them? You should try your best not to handle all frogs in the first place as the oils and toxins on our hands can burn their skin, always be sure to wash your hands with fresh running water, and leave them nice and wet, this makes it more comfy and they will be happy to sit there with you, a spray bottle nearby doesnt go a stray, My tree frog loves sitting with me, just be sure to give him a spray and and keep his skin wet, his always smiling :)
Um yeah? That's why people have these kinds of animals, to watch and observe and study. Just cuz you can't pick them up doesn't mean you shouldn't keep them =/
actually i have held them on occasion, and if u check all my vids i think one of the early ones has one on my hand. if u read down, it is explained why they r not poisonous any more. though u should wash hands after touching any animal(including humans imo).
dont buy froglets! they are small and delicate, most stores and reptile shows sell very small ones for a very low price, some being smaller than your thumbnail! get juveniles, most people sell them at around 4 months of age. They are mostly inexpensive, and if u decide to breed them, dont interbreed the species, since dart frogs are already a mix of colors, breeding them with a different local group will mess up the gene chain even more.
frogs lose poison in captivity(probably due to diet- they eat cultured food and no alkanoids available in diet to produce toxins in skin) so no i have a vid of it on my hand
4 20 watt philips plant flourescents. i would love to get a fitted top with nicer lights but cash is always going towards more pressing matters. i have heardgood things and i think i saw a top that fits perfect with the spiral flourescents. forgot where though
any vids? what kind? awesome pets, huh? don't have to clean up and they smell like virgin rain forest. each has its own personality too. never have to take them for a walk in winter slush
nah, just have to know where to look. local herp shows sometime have froglets for sale and plety of web venders and websites. some species will always be tougher to find, but if you get on a waiting list you can make adjustments to terrarium while you wait for nature to take its course
Actually, I believe poison arrow frogs are poisonous because of their diet in the wild. Frogs raised in captivity are harmless. Can the author verify?

look im dumb. Does there toxins effect you if they touch you or is this defence mechanism only in effect if a predator eats them?
Smeez08 3 years ago
They're poisonous to the touch. Don't pick them up. Though I've heard some zoo change their diets, so the frogs are no longer toxic.
lakitalover 3 years ago
i think there only poisionus in the wild because of their diet.

plpl shouldnt hold amphibians at all.
you wanna touch and pet something? get a cat or a bunny.
YamazakiSuperDM 2 years ago
so fish aquarium is out of the question too...? serious people who hold amphibians, reptiles and such, do not cuddle with them.
cyberdel 2 years ago
Its always sad when I read about beginners cuddling and playing with their bearded dragons, or tree frogs or snakes.
and then cry after 1 year (!) when the animal drops dead.
PumilioTurkey 2 years ago
Beautifull Arent they? wat is removed from their diets that makes them not poisonous or less poisonous?
flugtug08 3 years ago
the ants they eat in nature. Springtails and fruit flies do not contian this toxin

watch out those r the most poisenes in the world
jjj5541 4 years ago
Not in captivity, in captivity they have a change of diet that doesn't let them eat whatever it is they eat in the wild that gives them their poison.

I've switched my Exo-Terras up to 6500K spiral compact fluorescent lights and seen a marked increase in plant growth.

Exo-Terra makes them. It's called the Compact Top. You can see them on their web page. Fits really nice with the ZooMed cubes as well.
