First it looked like the cheetah was going to get the fawn

It was going to, but Thomson's Gazelle mothers will jump like that to distract the cheetah and try to get away while the fawn runs to safety.

yea i remmeber whe i outrun one of htese suckers...iw as taking a pee adn a hyena poped out of the bushes and i ran outran the hyena...then i see a cheetah and hten outran him, and then jumped on a moving jeep and ate a sandwich

It didn't even look like the cheetah was running at half of his full speed. I'm not sure if the gazelle was really trying to get away. Maybe it was at slower speed, but that cheetah should have crossed that field a lot faster.

Not always true. If the adult can outdistance, or fight a little, the cheetah will go for the fawn. It's like the idea of picking off the weak. :o
