  • Very nice video showing the hard work and creative passion as you say, that someone poured into his fascinating hobby. I have some home-brew pieces that I've found over here too that I plan to make operational some day. Far more interesting than plopping an expensive, high-tech, plastic appliance on one's desk & pretending it's a personal accomplishment to use it!

I know what you mean, there’s nothing quite like that moment when you hear the first hum and crackle out of a pile of junk you’ve pulled together on the bench. I’ve still got the fist 80 metres receiver I ever built. Every now & then I switch it on & there’s still that sense of achievement, it doesn’t have AVC, if a local station fires up it blows my head off. As a special purpose machine manufacturer I allays loved that moment when you breathe life into the beast

  • I'm sure it'll find a good home Andy, it deserves to. Alas, my limited space is already overfull with projects, both finished and "will be one day" ones.

  • My soldering hand's itching. Thanks for sharing this lovely old bit of home brew.

  • @G0IFI Well if you’re serious about it... it’s up for grabs on eBay auction end on the first of December 2011

    Kind Regards ... Andy
