Funny how some people are trying to throw other breeds under the bus. Poodles? A quick check of the North American dog attack records from 1982-2011 shows 0 deaths by poodles. Over 200 deaths by pit bulls though, far more than any other breed. In fact, more than all other breeds combined.
The Pit bull is unique among dogs in that it was created specifically to kill. And yet people seem surprised that they kill.
they are trying to get them out here in melbourne right now any bornafter 2010 are apparently goin to be put down its screwed up cause its the owners not the dog , educate dont discriminate !!!!!!!
pit bull type dogs are not APBT's, the dogs that are attacking are mastiffs type dogs and mutts. True APBTs usally don't get over 60lbs and do not have huge heads.
I watch the news and every time there is a dog attack, they call it a pit bull. One of the dogs was a chow.
BSL will destroy all breeds, people need to wake up before all dogs become illegal!
We have had several pitbulls and many were rescues that were in the fight pens. NEVER have we ever been bit by a pitbull because we have knowledge of the breed. We have been bit by other peoples scotties, shepherds, heelers and chihuahua. It is people ignorance and explotation that is bringing down this awesome breed. People need to start taking responsibility for this.
@lizzy19680 type in the three w's before that link, and the second comment alone has been researched and discussed by many familiar with the breed of pitbulls!
Do people think they honestly have received the justice they deserve for the years of being 'used'?? Not nearly close enough to proper justice for them... These dog fighting idiots that have exposed these dogs to things they've lived with make me sick,, you want to ban pitbulls, then ban ANYONE who uses them inappropriately from ever owning another animal or being around one, and not just some years, FOREVER, as when a pit pays with it's life, it's forever...
Cesar Millan, I don't care what anyone says, is incredible!! He's got many pitbulls, and uses them in other dog's therapy, but oh so uncontrollable. No they need to be understood, and need consistancy instead of these idiots getting them to bulk them and impress friends, without much love or anything else to offer them. Cesar is amazing, and is proof that any breed has hope! It's education, and nothing more! Where's the justice for pits that have been maimed or killed???
Our county is allowing the most irresponsible of owners who purport to be running a "rescue" to continue breeding and warehousing pits in vacant houses. I have contacted every possible agency in this county and THEY WILL NOT STOP THEM.
You've caused and continue to cause your own problems Metzelfelt. Better hope you never need votes here some day, or do you have that "handled" also? I still am in fear to ride my horses, but I'm only a tax payor and have NO RIGHTS?
Our county is allowing the most irresponsible of owners who purport to be running a "rescue" to continue breeding and warehousing pits in vacant houses. I have contacted every possible agency in this county and THEY WILL NOT STOP THEM.

@porn1978 I've been around, rescued, and raised Pit Bulls my whole life and the one and ONLY dog i've ever been attacked by was a SHIH TZU!! ALL breeds are capable of attacking and biting, this breed is just more powerful and needs more responsible owners. Ppl make them that way, Blame the owners not the breed. Oh and by the way pit bulls jaws DON'T LOCK that is a myth, they are just extremely powerful. You should educate yourself on the breed more you would be suprised...
@porn1978 Try being around a well socialized Pit Bull or actually reading instead of sitting down and watching the news... The media exaggerates and lies to get your attention, which obviously you fell for. I understand that they can be dangerous in the wrong hands, but don't ban the breed because of ignorant ppl. Pit Bulls are ranked 4th for passing The American Canine Temperament Testing Association test. 86% of all Pit Bulls pass and 76% of poodles pass. YES I SAID POODLES. Learn something!
@JazziiRae You make good points BUT! The ferocity, the aggression and the absolute physical "POWER" alone, is more than enough reason to ban pit bulls. Any dog who will challenge your authority, mentally manipulate you and physically overpower a human being, shouldn't be allowed in human population. Learn something!
@porn1978 All dogs have aggression and actually ALL dogs will challenge your authority if you're not a leader for them. Most people just don't realize that they're dogs are very dominant over them they just look at it as being playful, or having minor issues. I just don't think it's right to ban a whole innocent breed and kill them all because of people's mistakes. That's like if a man shoots someone, then we ban the gun and not the shooter.
@porn1978 If you feel this way about Pit Bulls then I'm sure you feel the same about rottweilers, dobermans, bull terriers, american bull dogs, husky's, great danes, dalmations, currs, rhodesian ridgebacks, german shepards, etc? All large breeds can physically over power most humans. You have 2 realize, they're so loyal, & love their owners so much that they're willing to hurt themselves & die 4 them. Unfortunately some ppl use that to their advantage. Give them a chagne develop your own opinion
@porn1978 YOU learn something!!, How naive are you? Banning them because the ferocity aggression, absolute physical POWER alone is more than enough reason?? So you don't think they're are other breeds that over power PHYSICALLY? My daughter's pit, brought up with love, THEM educated on the breed and what revolves around raising one, from an abusive home, responds to positive role modelling. YOU COMMENTED ON THIS VIDEO, IT'S THE DAMN HUMAN'S NOT THE DOGS, YOU KNOW NOTHING TWIT! NICE NAME PORN
@porn1978 IDIOT, Shows how much you know, their JAWS DON'T LOCK THAT'S A MYTH YOU MORON, their jaw has the power to stay clamped and it's their stubborness, not lockjaw, omg READ SOME MATERIAL BEFORE YOU COMMENT. I've studied this for years, and still people blame 'Locking jaws', My God if you were educated you'd know there's no such thing with pitbulls. It's the power of their jaw and the fact they will hold on to win, not a lock they can't control, God get a brain!
@porn1978 Ignorance. Just pure ignorance. Do us all a favor and do your research before you stereotype. I bet you haven't even met a pit bull first hand. Ignorant Twit.
@porn1978 WOW. How old are you? 12? Pit's are not a 'trend' They are not like clothes that are in one year and out the other. They are caring and outgoing and very friendly dogs. No wonder you don't know anything about them. If you don't know squat about the dogs, then please don't stereotype. If you don't know anything about them, do you do not know that they don't lock their jaws. They can't, its a fact. Research it, darling.
@LittleWingedDevil how old are YOU!? i didnt respond to u, ur dumbass responded to ME first and talking shit. friendly dogs my ass! pits are too advance than the average pooch. even the owner cant stare pits in their eyes because their just that damn territorial. im not interested in a dog that i have to compete with. and locking their jaws is a figure of speech, it illustrates the power of the bite, DUHHHH!!!
@porn1978 lmfao, wtf. Nobody competes with their dog xD If you did your research, you would know that they are compassionate and loving creatures. They love their owners and they are just like any other dog you might see. Take this for example: My grandmother has 2 greyhounds. One of them lays by us and is very gently and wouldn't bite anyone. The other is the exact opposite. See? It's not the breed, It's how they were raised. (Note: the aggressive greyhound was rescued).
Actually I have. My uncle owned a couple of Poodles that he neglected to socialize and they were extremely vicious. I finally convinced him to seek help and they are fine now but it did take almost a year. Its not the breed its the owner. You can take the pit out and put any dog in the same situation and it will be the same result. The media just likes to expose Pits cuz it makes a better story than some Poodle attacking.
im tired of people saying its not the dog, its the owner, well guess what ya dumb fucks, the owners never will be responsible...BAN those fucking pits!
@porn1978 I just hate seeing someone getting the wrong impression on this breed. Believe it or not but they were bred to love people. Anything can be dangerous if you mis-use it... Unfortunately Pit Bulls have been used for the wrong reasons, and they have a bad reputation hovering over them. I mean I can't tell you what to do, but I really urge you to watch Cesar Milan he's really the only person that makes sense with dogs, and try being around a calm submissive Pit Bull. Have an open mind..
@JazziiRae I wouldn't waste time on this joke... Pitbulls have been abused, treated inhumanely, where is their justice?? People aren't punished severely enough that put these beautiful creatures through this crap! It is the humans, and as Cesar says, ~We don't have to kill them, we don't have to ban them, we just have to educate the human~, and that's exactly it! My jack russel is more vicious than my daughters pit from an abused home.. she's a sweet love!
shut up all you pitbull haters. try owning one of them. they are the most loyal dogs ever. perfect with my kids. any breed can be dangerous. its how you bring them up. punish the deed not the breed
@brookerhys NICE, my daughter has one from an abused home and she's aww my baby girl! I had a shepard/husky from abuse and tried for two years and he turned on me, although he did love me a lot, just couldn't let the anger go. Her pit had more potential in letting the grudge go and is a happy, loveable, loyal companion to us all!! Good for you and your comment!
I STILL WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU ARE ALLOWING DOGS, IN PARTICULAR PIT BULLS TO BE HOUSED IN VACANT HOUSES? DO YOU KNOW HOW REDICULOUS YOU SOUND HERE? PUT SOME ACTION WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS MR. METZELFELT? YOU'RE IGNORING IT RIGHT ON YOUR DESK.
the problem is people are NOT getting in tune with the breed. not doing their home-work before they get the breed.
then realize the breed is too much dog for them.
most people don't even train their terrier dog! they are not dogs you can just take home and let them do what ever they want. you have to be trained to a T and socialized well.
same thing happen to the dalmatian, the movie made people want to buy the breed but not knowing the breed is far too hyper for just any owner.
This is a good start, but San Bernardino needs to do MORE! Just in the last two years, while walking my dog, we have been attacked by pit bulls off leash four times. In May, a pit bull belonging to a neighbor crashed through my wrought iron gate and attacked my dog, which later died from the injuries. I'm still waiting for restitutions from this neighbor. These events have really wakened my eyes to the real dangers these dogs pose in our city.

i think before you get this type of breed you should have to do some hands-on training with a already fully grown dog of the breed.
a 1 month hands on training test that you must pass to be able to own the breed.
just to get the whole feel of the breed. that way you don't get yourself into something you will regret and end up giving the dog the boot.
