i wonder if there were actually people/civilians who actually stayed in pripyat after the evacuation just because they didnt want to leave there home.
@Blackknight1212 Reaktor został uszkodzony, a miasto opustoszało i zostało zamknięte. Chmurę radioaktywnego pyłu powiało w świat, Ziemia ciągle się kręci, wiatry wieją, mogła trafić wszędzie. Miasto teraz jest otwarte tylko dla turystów. Reaktor można sobie obejrzeć;)

@Blackknight1212 On april 26th, 1986, reactor 4 at chernobyl explodes, sending an enormous radioactive cloud over northern ukraine and neighboring belarus. The danger is kept a secret from the population of Pripyat who go about their business as usual 3km away. Children play, lovers get married, shops trade and the residents marvel at the spectacular fire taking place at the reactor.
@Blackknight1212 [2nd part] After 3 days an area the size of england becomes contaminated with radioactive dust. The 50,000 inhabitants are eventually evacuated over the course of a single day.
at 2:37-2:45 if you see the shading thats actually radiation behind the buildings that's radiation a lethal amount plus the mini amounts of flashes on screen are aslo radiation as shown on 3:40-3:58 RIP pripyat nearly 30 years old when abandoned
Damn. The place is eerily quiet but somehow beautiful without the hustle and bustle of urban civilization. Well, it is kind of sad all those people had to lose their homes and their belongings just because of a power-plant explosion.
@maninthestandswithth Unfortunately it did not remain untouched, as you will see from the more recent videos it was heavily looted by theives and that spoils it a bit for me as i think it would be even weirder to see eveything exactly as people left it, inside the buildings anyway.
So that was how the city looked 2 years later eh? Creepier than it does now, honestly.. maybe it is just the age of the film, it's type, and the fact that it is so close yet so long after the disaster.
@unreal3010 Becouse the ones the are Old and there filmed this scence after the explosion so the radiation makes the sound and flickering ! so sad :'(
wow ive played this on a game and i never knew this really happended til i read a book about it and saw it in a movie that night.... its incredable that a nuclear power station explosion can effect a whole country the size of russia!!!! and the russian government says only 30 ppl died in in lol wow were not that dumb!
Look up the story online, its really interesting story about what happned at the power plant

@healthprovic I live in the UK, a capitalist country. Our government have been known to lie to us more than any other.
Lying governments and Communism have nothing to do with each other what so ever!

In a worse situation now are Navajo Indians who live near the Big Mountain. There is more radiation than Chernobyl.

Until Chernobyl, you can now go on tour, where they invite a lot of Gringos. For the Big Mountain rather not.

Yeah, sutitles would help.... but i think in this case its not completely needed. The pictures provide all the translation we need. Unfortunately.

It would be wonderful if someone who speaks Ukrainian/Russian was able to provide subtitles to this historic film.

@ShadowkingA321 ya, what intrigues me is how the whole town is like a time capsule. Untouched and abandoned since 1986.
