  • lol wow i see what they meant about the radiation affecting the film, that's incredible to see, nice film

  • Who is going to subtitle this in English?

  • its freaky seeing that radiation flickering.

  • this is like a Kraftwerk video

  • i wonder if there were actually people/civilians who actually stayed in pripyat after the evacuation just because they didnt want to leave there home.

  • As I Watch this, Im downloading S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear sky from steam.

  • Those pigeons in the puddle must have turned into fucking terydactyles (i know i spelled it wrong) or somethung

  • Communist country usually lie to their citizen ,

even that cost many lives of their own country people.

Just becoz they wanna hide their fault and continue their totalarian rule

    1986 USSR Chenobyl

    2003 PRC SARS

  • @healthprovic I live in the UK, a capitalist country. Our government have been known to lie to us more than any other.

Lying governments and Communism have nothing to do with each other what so ever!

  • man, the soveit union was sketchy place

  • english subtitles?(A)

  • What actually happened, I know the plant didn't blow up because then there wouldn't be a city standing there right now.

  • @Blackknight1212 Reaktor został uszkodzony, a miasto opustoszało i zostało zamknięte.

• @TheLitung I don't speak Russian sorry, but thanks anyways.

  • @Blackknight1212 Если вы не владеющих русским языком, то, что вы смотрите пропаганды фильмов на русском языке, которая основана на туристов в Чернобыле?

  • In a worse situation now are Navajo Indians who live near the Big Mountain. There is more radiation than Chernobyl.

  • Until Chernobyl, you can now go on tour, where they invite a lot of Gringos. For the Big Mountain rather not.

  • @Blackknight1212 Google translate speaks Russian...

  • @Blackknight1212 On april 26th, 1986, reactor 4 at chernobyl explodes, sending an enormous radioactive cloud over northern ukraine and neighboring belarus. The danger is kept a secret from the population of Pripyat who go about their business as usual 3km away. Children play, lovers get married, shops trade and the residents marvel at the spectacular fire taking place at the reactor.

  • @Blackknight1212 [2nd part] After 3 days an area the size of england becomes contaminated with radioactive dust. The 50,000 inhabitants are eventually evacuated over the course of a single day.

  • Yeah, sutitles would help.... but i think in this case its not completely needed. The pictures provide all the translation we need. Unfortunately.

  • It would be wonderful if someone who speaks Ukrainian/Russian was able to provide subtitles to this historic film.

    Such a tragic story :(

  • so radiation cant get inside from nose or mouth but it is allowed to touch skin?

  • @MsKevin400 use your brain, deadly gases

  • at 2:37-2:45 if you see the shading thats actually radiation behind the buildings that's radiation a lethal amount plus the mini amounts of flashes on screen are aslo radiation as shown on 3:40-3:58 RIP pripyat nearly 30 years old when abandoned

  • i was 2 years old when this video was made

  • Damn. The place is eerily quiet but somehow beautiful without the hustle and bustle of urban civilization. Well, it is kind of sad all those people had to lose their homes and their belongings just because of a power-plant explosion.

  • @ShadowkingA321 ya, what intrigues me is how the whole town is like a time capsule. Untouched and abandoned since 1986.

  • @maninthestandswithth Unfortunately it did not remain untouched, as you will see from the more recent videos it was heavily looted by theives and that spoils it a bit for me as i think it would be even weirder to see eveything exactly as people left it, inside the buildings anyway.

  • @331sam331 yeah but if u stay inside the city for like 4 or 5 hours you get irradiated so i dont think looters would getting cancer

  • @ShadowkingA321 and lives....

  • good

  • good

  • History comes alive in Pripyat. By visiting there, you visit USSR.

  • So that was how the city looked 2 years later eh? Creepier than it does now, honestly.. maybe it is just the age of the film, it's type, and the fact that it is so close yet so long after the disaster.

Creepy, but amazing... I love it.

  • I wish this was in English so I could understand what they were saying

  • Radiation

it not only fucks your body

    it fucks up your movies.

    The more you know!

  • the silver spots?

  • yup its the radiation ...and also the sparking on some of the parts of this vid

  • Reading rainbooooww!!

  • grat vid. the best documentation vid from 1986 i've ever seen!!(Y)

  • if i ever one thoe lotto i would by that abandon town

  • It's a part of a nature reserve, I doubt they'd sell it to you.

  • why?

  • It would be nice if there was a subtitled version.

  • the white spots that you see in the movie its not because its old, there burnmarks from radiation

  • Yes, that is true.

    black spots=Old

    white=radiation

  • @metalux1971 why were they flickering like that.

  • @unreal3010 Because the individual film frames each have their own different random burn marks. That's why.

  • @unreal3010 Becouse the ones the are Old and there filmed this scence after the explosion so the radiation makes the sound and flickering ! so sad :'(

  • english please

  • wow ive played this on a game and i never knew this really happended til i read a book about it and saw it in a movie that night.... its incredable that a nuclear power station explosion can effect a whole country the size of russia!!!! and the russian government says only 30 ppl died in in lol wow were not that dumb!

  • was call of duty 4 the game?

  • well this happened in Ukraine not Russia,we russians aint stpid maybe the soviets were

  • you obviously can't read, Pripyat is in Ukraine and it was called the Soviet Union back then , not russia

  • Nice video never seen on Internet. Thank you for uploading this.
