I think that even though most of the people here are not crab fishermen, have been crab fishing, or not even been out on a boat for that matter. We all still feel how close everyone on the boats were and still are like family to each other, Phil being a major part of that family. Even though we can't experience his loss personally, we still feel it the exact same. There was something about Phil, that even watching him on tv made a connection.

My red tail can reach closer to the heavens..no doubt where u are.  Alaska is home to the breathtaking GYRFALCON! A bird so prized by those that enjoyed the sport of falconry in the Middle Ages that it was forbidden for anyone except a true king to own a gyrfalcon. You Phil Harris are a true king! See you in heaven Capt Phil.

@hemipene I watch the re-runs and i start to cry, they make me think of my Mom. I know my Mom would have loved him, he seemed to be everything she wanted in a man, from riding Harley Hogs,fishing to building birdhouses. I now pray they can find each other in Heaven and fish and sail off into a beautiful Bering Sea sunset.

for adventure and gain i do it more 4 adventure but the money is a big bonus im a dungeness crabber outta newport oregon we got 500 pot limits now but not quotas last derby style crab fishery around on west coast but I love it alot faster paced than king crabbing and we move all the 150 pounds pots by man power and we run a pot every 20 - 45 seconds depending on depth
