This whole time I have been doing it the wrong way. I did it right going up, but I never went down. I was going 1 push-up and 1 hand up thing, 2 push-up and 2 hand up thing. I did it all the way to 10, but never did it down cause I did not finish watching the video. So I was doing 10 push-ups and 10 hand ups the right way. The problem was I did that ten times. So doing that all together I did 500 push-ups and 500 hand ups. Now I know how to do it the right way.
Something interesting to do with this workout is modify it to your advantage. For instance, I do this, Monday: 300 push-up + leg workout, Tuesday: 300 pull-up(this is the same as this workout except with pull-ups and low weight dumbbell rows)+ abs,Wednesday:300 push-up + leg workout, Thursday: 300 pull-up + abs, Friday:300 push-up + leg workout. Try it, been at it for 2 weeks and have been getting great results already.
Great routine, Although I'm just starting to get back into working out so at about a total of 21 pushups I had to break for 2 minutes (pause) then press play again. #pant pant pant :)
just to let people know, its not good to have palms flat on the ground, its better if you use your fist as it strains your wrists if your palms are flat
@TheTrippleD3 it all depends on how strong your wrists are....Me personally I make a cup with my hand palms down, that way there is constant tension on my wrists/forearms. Works well for me. :)

I cant say i know how it is to recover from an injury that involves breaking both your legs and still stay in shape, however I have recovered from an operation recently that involved placing a bar in my chest, that was 9 months ago and I'm in the best shape of my life now. A fat guy might have to do a 100+ day challenge rather than 20. Of course, he'd want to switch exercises once he reached 20 days b/c his progress would start to stall as his body gets used to the exercisesg. So maybe 20 days of chest press/shoulder press, 20 days of hill climbers, 20 chest

So if you add 1+ 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 you get 49 'total' push ups done. If you counted up to say 13, you get 85 total done and 14 makes it 99 push ups.
The video author's advice is it easy to count 'a set of 1' 'a set of 2' 'a set of 3' up till when finally your donig 14 pushups. 14 is choosen because its not a daunting number. People hear 14 pushups and think I can do that!
As long as you only use your own bodyweight for training, there should be no reason why you shouldn't be able to train every day. Just use common sense and know and respect your limits =)

@whatdafacundo yes! Body weight is very good for cutting, or making muscles look leaner, as well as making the muscles you're working out more compact.
@solarwile not really. it's easy and hard to over-train because of the elements involved. simple fact is, the push-up is a fantastic exercise and challenging (to some) but it only goes so far. Once you can do many repetitions (which should happen pretty soon), then it hits the muscle endurance and not strength. Furthermore, due to it being a compound exercise it's working out more than one muscle, so it's not like your doing an isolating where one muscle can be over-worked. It's tricky.

@ThePyrozone you know the muscle building isn't done in the gym, at the gym you tear the muscle and once you get home your body begins repairing it (which makes it bigger and stronger). I think when your asleep your body repairs muscle the most provided it has the right nutrition. I think the most noticeable difference would be a b4 and after from when you do the exercise to when you stop feeling sore (your body is full repaired).
Good wokout, but I'm not sure I like it to much, I think your body would get to used to push ups at a certain point and you would stop gaining muscle. switching up the variation of the push up helps but its still a similar motion. obviously is a good workout though, you can def. see that. just not certain on the long term for this workout.
I wish my body is more receptive to push ups. I've been doing lots of pushups during my civilian military training in high school and nothing happened.
@shazmyir hahaha you think creatine is some sorta steroid or somethin? na, thats just the drive to reach your goal. set it in your head and dnt quit until you reach your goal. it's all about dedication and focus. people think working out is just about genetics and strength when really thats not even half of it.
ok now try this what we do in boxing class: instead of doing shoulder presses hold yourself in the top of the pushup for 4 seconds,and then do push up again...
I do the almost the same thing in the fitness class I attend, but we use light dumbbells for the shoulder press(5-10 lbs, it's a women's class :] ) and we start at 10. I'm going to try this challenge!
I just want to say thanks for giving me an idea on how to spice up my routine. I couldn't get to 10 on the pyramid. So this is what I did since I like to combine pushups and situps 3 days a week. I did pyramid sets up to 8, and work your way down to 1. Trust me this is a killer workout. What you do is you go to 8 for the first set of pushups, then you do 8 pyramid situps 10 to 30 seconds after. Then you are going to go to 7 pyramid pushups, then 7 pyr. situps, then 6 pushups until you get to 1.
I avoid sittups now since I think they are bad for the lower back, read up on the various discussions about this. As an alternative I use lifeline usa power wheel rollouts.
for those who can, try it with one arm push ups, its crazy

@chickenvirus Try out a set, even without weight it becomes super hard, but add weight if you want to challenge yourself I guess

I do the almost the same thing in the fitness class I attend, but we use light dumbbells for the shoulder press(5-10 lbs, it's a women's class :] ) and we start at 10. I'm going to try this challenge!

I just want to say thanks for giving me an idea on how to spice up my routine. I couldn't get to 10 on the pyramid. So this is what I did since I like to combine pushups and situps 3 days a week. I did pyramid sets up to 8, and work your way down to 1. Trust me this is a killer workout. What you do is you go to 8 for the first set of pushups, then you do 8 pyramid situps 10 to 30 seconds after. Then you are going to go to 7 pyramid pushups, then 7 pyr. situps, then 6 pushups until you get to 1.

I avoid sittups now since I think they are bad for the lower back, read up on the various discussions about this. As an alternative I use lifeline usa power wheel rollouts.
