Read Leviticus 19:1-37. It claims to be a set of Commands given by God to Moses.

The full list there is basically the Ten Commandments with some variations and additions.

It begins:

"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying..... Turn ye not unto idols .... Ye shall not steal.... Do not trim off the hair on your temples or trim your beards....etc"

In what sense are these NOT Commandments?

God also supposedly commanded death by stoning for anyone who disobeys all such Commandments.

@josied1996 EVERYTHING about Moses and everything in the Old Testament happened a looooooong time ago, including the Ten Commandments. So maybe NONE of them count now. Or maybe all of them, including the Ten Commandments, just apply to Jewish people. The only principles embraced by the Founding Fathers were that we are all born equal and that we should be free to do whatever we want unless it violates the equal right of others to do whatever they want. That seems much more modern and rational.

Your sins has offended God. Every day you sin more than what you imagine. If you sin 5 times a day (which is a really small amount of sins per day) there is 365 days a year. 365 X 5= 1,825 sins per year.. If you are 70 when you die then it will be 127,750 sins in your life.... that is how many times you have offended God. ( which is a small amount of sins per day, most people sin more that 5 times a day)... Thats why someone had to pay for your offenses.

Part 2 any sin that is committed after that first repentance, it require another repentance. YOU didnt identify it. Many protestant pastors or even all the pastors never identify that the person must ask God for other forgiveness when falling in sin after that first repentance. He will forgive you if you TURN AWAY from it. That is why Jesus came to die--so that it would be JUST as if you had never sinned. He took away that wrath we should have had from a holy & righteous God and made it so that we are reconciled to the Lord. Don't forget that.
