Helpful tip on teaching. Perhaps play the part your teaching first. Go over each part several times breaking it up into segments. Cut out all the extra talk and showing your music. Play only what is necessary for others to learn. Those who read music already know what your explaining and those who don't your just confussing them. Now try it in E flat major. Thats how the song is written in.
Good job! Thank you so much for doing this! I love this song, and I've been wanting to try it on the piano. Your teaching style is very straight-forward, and now I can't wait to play it on my own.
Thank you very much. The way you taught the song was great. I appreciate the time you took to allow others to enjoy a beautiful song by a great voice and artist.
Loved the tutorial. It's a bit fast for me because I'm an idiot who has nothing but thumbs. I'm trying it anyway. Thanks for the effort -- much appreciated. I've watched your cover video lots of times. Very impressed.
only one thing that i think you should add is that you should play the whole song before you teach it. :) i cant read music. i learn fast by sight and ear
I don't read music nor have I ever had a piano lesson. I've always wanted to learn though so I decided to start with this song when I found your tutorial. With your help, I learned to play the intro in one day!!!!!! Thank you!!!
as with others, I have never learned to read music, but grow by sight, guitar tabs, and personal lessons. This is an awesome tutorial!! thank you so much!
Great tutorial but as others have said you are in a different key! Quick way to fix it is just go up a half step on every note and you have it perfect
yeah, I wrote about the key switching I did in the info section. to keep it simple, I just used the free online chords and kept it in D. I could have used the transpose function on my keyboard, but I wanted people who have standard pianos to be able to follow along with the tutorial in the same key.
I've an experienced player, yet not the strongest with music reading, i play more by sight and ear. I thrive off of tutorials like this, thank you so much, great job!
I have been looking for a tutorial for this song for weeks. I actually listened to your cover first a while back when I was searching for a tutorial. I really appreciate this.
Great analysis, great playing, and you have a great voice. Thanks for sharing. The world would be a more musical place if there were more things like this out there. :D
your voice sounds like the girl from Juno haha :) thanks for posting this! i played this for my boyfriend after i learned from you. its his favorite song. thanks so much =)
This is incredible! Any chance you can post the sheet music for your rendition? I'm much more of a music reading player and am in the process of writing out all the notes but it would be amazing if you could somehow output the music form your keyboard and post it. Thanks!
im one of those retarded piano players that dont know chords i just go by demonstration and this was slightly helpful in my case but i definitely got wayy too confused. thanks for the help though!
This would be perfect if it was in E flat like the original!

You say you start off in a G. Then when you play you start off in a D. Good job at confusing people.

I believe you converted it or the one you got is in a different key. Or can your keyboard transpose the sounds to other keys?
