  • God that would have been a beautiful action packed way to make a liveing.

  • So many times i've wanted to do things...but this is 2011 you get busted every time.

  • Stunning film...to say it's the best film ever...might damn well be. Can't think of another that is so perfect, so precise, so vivid and so that I can't get it out of my head...utterly enchanting...

  • Perfect and unattainable.

    Perfectly unattainable.

  • the coward disliked the song ....

  • @firataytas 'Funny' comments about likes/dislikes belong in teen pop videos. Please keep them out of quality videos like this one, thanks =/

  • @Mirm0S and the top comment of this video is a teen wishing to live in the time of Jesse James....investigate before being smartass kiddo..

  • @firataytas Haha you're right about the top comment xD Nothing to investigate though, Im just sick of all the likes/dislikes comments.

  • i think this is my fave song in the film

  • Okay I'll admit that I didn't like the movie, although the performances were amazing I'm sorry the movie just dragged out and was boring to many times. And no one give me any shit about how I only like hollywood movies with action because two of my favorite movies are The Shawshank Redemption and The Lookout to vastly overlooked movies, despite the Shanks post theater success plus I'm allowed to have my taste :D. However, the soundtrack was amazing, something I noticed watching the film.

  • @zues770 fair enough.

  • Why the fuck does every videos comment section have to be people cussing at each other. Cant yall just get along and enjoy the song and stop being aggro to each other.

  • God i love this song...as simple as that.

  • Epic song Epic scene. Wonderful movie.

  • amazing melody ...

  • God i love this sound track it send so many motion through a persons head at once!

  • my favorite track in the movie

  • Hey, ive never actually seen the move the assasination of Jesse James, I have the movie at home though. I've watched Young Guns 1 and 2 and thouroughly enjoyed them very much! I watched them frequently actually. Does anyone think I would enjoy the assasination of Jesse James? Is kind of like Young Guns if you've seen either one or two of that movie?

  • this is one of the best modern westerns and one of the best westerns all around besides "the good the bad the ugly" and"the unforgivin and the outlaw josey whales and fistful of dolars and well yea

  • Why is everyone comparing this film to The Dark Knight? They are both brilliant but completely different films.

  • Just wanted to say that this is one of my two favorite all-time favorite movies. It's spectacular. Every single moment of it.

  • Kind of tense but with a melancholy vibe to it... like Jesse's character

  • I wish i lived in the time of Jesse James and his gang.

  • @TheSwagManifesto

    no you dont

  • @maddawgzzzz Yeah i do

  • @TheSwagManifesto i agree :)

  • @TheSwagManifesto sure you do friend, but i must admit, times were simpler then, today the world is just big mess of corrupt politicians and robot like civilians, back then was not a time YOU would want to be in, but it was better in the sense that it wasnt as bullshit as now

  • i wish i lived in the time martin luther king

  • @TheSwagManifesto Yeah? But if you wont to be a part of the life that Jesse James lived, why dont you live it in our modern world? Jesse James and his followers are still living. ;)

  • Best film ever.

  • @Needham90 not to say it wasn't good...but "the best"? well...It was a damn good movie; I didn't want it to ever end.

  • @TheZowwee In my book it's the best. Sure there have been films that come close, but I always watch this film again and it always surprises me and never fails to impress.

  • Even though i hate Brad Pitt i hafta say this is one good movie.

  • a good depiction of what james was about some say robin hood some dont ? this film to me is like most good films, a film what requires respect and understanding if not u wont see the depth . the soundtracks and visuals are quite amazing

lol its a great film when you understand more than the guidlines and plots plus its alol true like his body being kept and so on

  • Who knew a comic book god could also compose music.

  • This film has one of the best soundtracks of all films ever (that is original score so not including musicals and such). The music in this film is truly beautiful. This score is the one I really remember from the film. It was used bloody perfectly in the scene of the train robbery near the start of the film, talk about creating atmosphere.

  • You have to appreciate the hard work these people put into this movie, I mean look at all the other films teens today watch. You don´t see the old fashion Westerns like John Wayne and Rio Grande being watched by them anymore. As a Russian, I loved the old fashion westerns and the whole cowboy antics. But now it´s all overrated bullshit like Jackass and Dark Knight.

  • And yes, fuckin' train gets the best soundtrack.

  • I'm pretty sure this is one of the greatest songs of all time. The "Money Train" scene + the score = a masterpiece. Everything about this movie came together so well that it puts 90% of other mainstream movies to shame.

  • muhteşemmm.

  • Outstanding music!you suck

  • the train scene is arguably the best shot scene in cinema in the past 10 years.

  • @yhmcrbwoii I fully and wholeheartedly agree. I don't think I've sat staring at a scene in awe for so long in a very long time.

  • @yhmcrbwoii When You talk about shots this movie has about 10 best scenes in cinema for about 20 years .

  • @yhmcrbwoii The movie was good but considering the Lord of the Rings came out in the last 10 years, it easily takes the cake for cinematography.

  • @yhmcrbwoii

You can thank Roger Deakins for that.

  • @yhmcrbwoii why?

  • @MrSyanArt:

because of the usage of light and shadow and the cutting of this scene. when you watch the movie and this music kicks in while you hear the noises of the approaching train and see the shots of jesse climbing on the logs they put on the rails, you can't help feeling vaguely nervous about what's going to happen next, because you know exactly what jesse's gang is about to do.

  • Love this movie, inspired a poem, called The Poetry in the Days of Jesse James...Thank you for posting, WS

  • The scene where this song plays, with all the men hidden in the woods only to be seen briefly by the lights of the train, amazing!

  • @maaseru I agree, one of my favourite scenes in the movie. I can't even describe why, something simply as men standing on the side of the road, faces covered.. just is an overall amazing movie..

  • Fantastic cinematography, fantastic musical score, and overall great movie!

  • beautiful melody!!!

  • ...they laid poor jesse in his grave

  • My favourite track from the movie and what a movie it is. A masterpiece for sure.

  • the names Dick Liddle with 2 D 's.

    they call me an inamorato.

  • @mrking352 "How's that leg?" "Full o' torment, Bob. Thanks for asking." :)

  • God bless Nick Cave

  • "Don't! Don't you shoot him!"

  • @lost2whispers dont tell me what a can or cant do bill

  • This might be one of my favorite tracks from the movie :). I didn't quite see the whole thing, but I loved the way it was a lot of that accuracy theme like the movie Tombstone, which is another one of my favorite western films.

  • ha ha jessee james great movie

  • Brad pitt's performance was just spectacular. He is the king of acting.

  • Gimmie YO money

  • Great film and great acting!!!

  • oh yes song that reaches the soul of man

  • I love this!! i listen to this every single day! the movie its amazing, i would love for one one of my fav producers in da rap game to make a beat with this..

  • there is a difference between what is famous and what should be famous. Many others would agree with this, just saying

  • Brilliant!!

  • Somehow, this didn't get an Oscar nod.

  • @mrtony80 Poetry don't work on whores

  • @mrtony80 WHO CARES?! At this point in time, having the Academy ignore you is almost a compliment. It means that your film is better than what can be comprehended by the dumb fucks that make up the vast majority of this planet. So yeah, it didn't get the "Oscar nod", but it did get the love and respect it deserves and I don't need some pompous board to tell me what's good and what's not.

  • song is at it's best at 1:10

  • I hear this and think "you 'bout to get robbed"... perfect music.

  • Wheres jim?

  • LOL

  • I changed my mind. Last Ride to KC is ;)

  • best song in the entire soundtrack.

  • this one reminds me of lux aeterna

  • best song on the soundtrack in my opinion, best soundtrack I 've heard, had to go out and buy it.

  • Someone again please tell me how this film and especially this soundtrack didn't win Oscars? This not winning is the tv equivalent of The Wire never even being nominated for an Emmy.

  • Terminator rocks. right keiser?

  • oscars are sympathy votes!

  • What do you expect its a very underrated film.... Its no big budget film like Dark Knight (which was good but very highly overrated and ur hearing that from a batman fan) which a lot of people are like OH MY GOD!! i have to see that movie.....A lot of people just dont know how to sit down anymore to see a overrall a good written movie

  • @Rcp123190

So true! People need big explosions, CG effects and three cuts per second! They can't handle epic pictures.

  • Ya exactly!! And plus people have no patince at all...A lot of people just want fast paced stuff

  • @HGRadetzki

"People need big explosions, CG effects and three cuts per second!"

That's how you describe the Dark Knight? Oh god. People these days...

  • @futurestoryteller

Did I describe "The dark knight"? (Great movie btw!) ;)

Yeah I know that statement was a bit stereotyped but I guess in general I'm quite right.

  • @HGRadetzki

I suppose so. I think there was some very unnecessary CGI in Jesse James - honestly. When I look at the kinds of movies that inspire me I often find that fans of one will clash with the other. People bring tribalism into their opinions and it frustrates me. I like well rounded and versatile. People sometimes act like variety is a sin. Most great movies, or even good ones, are so unique they're hardly comparable anyway.

  • @futurestoryteller

True - I'm not a fan of that either. Variety is most necessary.

My thought was that the average audience would simply get bored when movies get a bit long-drawn and they have no action. Doesn't mean that these movies are bad.

  • @Rcp123190 its budget wa £30,000,000 thats alot of fucking money

  • @yhmcrbwoii actually it was 30 million dollars / 18 million pounds

  • @Rcp123

Not that I'm normally a grammar nazi but "a overrall good written movie". Oh, the irony! Hahaha!

  • @homer091

oh wow i wrote one word wrong lol....as long as people understood what i was saying thats all it matters haha

  • @Rcp123190 I agree with you on that one.

  • @Rcp123190

Wrong, people went in to see the Dark Knight for the same reasons they go to see other summer blockbusters, sure, there were explosions in the trailers. But others had heard or seen how good Batman Begins was, and Chris Nolan had a built in audience; impressed with almost all of his features. Now, how many aquaintances can you personally name who will admit that they like westerns, and are willing to watch nearly 3hr movies? And TDK is not 'overrated', that term is shite anyway.

  • @futurestoryteller....actually im not wrong..TDK is very overrated....If wasnt of the unfortnate death of Heath Ledger the movie wouldnt have made as much money...Half the people i know went to see it becasue of him...Nolan is a very good writer i'll agree witth that but as Director hes ok.... With todays audiance and how dumb they are they will not sit down and watch a movie like Jesse James...Thats why TDK has such a simple storyline... Lengeth time has nothing to do with..TDK was almost 3 hrs

  • @Rcp123190

Uh-huh... Yeah... Except the Dark Knight was a huge PG13 blockbuster movie about superheroes &Jesse James was a 'Western' for adults, with a title as long as the movie. Also; try going through every plot thread in TDK vs. TAoJJbtCRF. You'll see how 'simple' TDK is in comparison. And Chris Nolan is an okay(?) director? That's funny all of his movies get damn good reviews. Must be all that 'okay' work he put in. & Do you really think people LOVE a movie because a cast member died?

  • I'm sorry, but there is some seriously fucked up logic in this equation if you think the death of a cast member (that almost no one wanted to see in the role to begin with (initially)) could cause a movie to settle at an 8.9 and a number 10 spot on IMDb. I think two years after his death the 'dead actor' novelty surely would have worn off. Not to mention the asinine suggestion that because ten of your friends went to SEE the movie for that reason it says anything about the film's quality at all.

  • @futurestoryteller who died in the film?

  • @JonNebula11

No one in this one. Well *in* the film; plenty of people. But none of the actors.

  • @Rcp123190 A comic-book movie will always be more popular than a western, that's for sure. But you have to admit that the dark knight was pretty amazing and more related to a crime drama rather than a comic-book film. A lot of people who hate comic book went to see it. All credits go to Nolan for that.

Btw this film and the score are brilliant!!

  • @butt01...I will have to agree with you on that...I'm glad I actually had someone who was smart and not inmature trying to start an fight with me who actually replied back lol

  • @Rcp123190 Hahahaha! Everybody can't have the same taste and you must be mature to understand that. Glad that we could have politely exchange words fellow youtube viewer. :D

  • the movie was kickass..the music, the actuation, everything, it should have been an oscar winner!

  • The opening for this song just instills a sense of foreboding and suspense that is unreal. But not only that, this is the music to listen to when your brooding and mulling over the darker thoughts your have from time to time.

  • when ever im in the subway in nyc i always think of this song when the trains about to come

  • Shot by the greatest cinematographer alive. Roger Deakins

  • Amen

  • Best movie ever!

  • Song for charley is my favorite

  • Yeah

  • Rooms seemed hotter when he was in them.

    Rains fell straighter.

    Clocks slowed.

    Sounds were amplified.

  • The narration of this movie was so Epic and the soundtrack made it so much more than just words...it felt so dark and it felt like you were there with them...

  • this would be a nice song to listen to if you were doing something epic at the time.

  • Too right you are, I can imagine myself some random epic scenario's and this song would be great for all of them.

  • doncha wish life had a theme song or a sound track?

  • You should rob a train with your headphones on listening to this?

  • Such a fantastic soundtrack. And what a movie! this scene is amazing. I love the menacing outline of pitt and the suspense of the train coming. fantastic.

  • what a great score

  • Probobly been said a hundred times already but i'll say it again: one of the best soundtracks ever!

I'm also a huge fan of Clint Mansell.

  • No doubt about that !
