Will a standard Amiga 1200 run doom that fast? I was thinking of getting one :) I also have an Atari jaguar and doom runs sweet as a nut on that old thing :)
This A1200 has a Mediator PCI and Voodoo Graphics Card so has 16/24/32bit RTG for workbench and support apps, most of the old Games like Quake just run in 256 Colour though ;-)
Yeah but this is a 50mhz 060 without the technology in a Pentium. Also this is only software rendering - however the is a Warp3D (MiniGL) version that runs better on the 060 :-)
The framerate on Quake didn´t impress me much, i did run that game on a non accelerated graphicscard on a Pentium 133Mhz in higher res. than this, and it did run totally smooth.
@ Watertonianm, thats right this is just 50mhz 060 running through Voodoo GFX card but without GL support - having some trouble with Warp3D at the moment but maybe get GL Quake up and running soon =)
If he's still not pushing a non-accelerated gfx card, that framerates being pushed by a 060 clocking in @ anywhere between 50 and 66 mhz (typically), this is impressive considering that.
"Will a standard Amiga 1200 run doom that fast?" No way! This is an A1200 eXtreme! :)

also, can't you get the voodoo to run quake? with a mini gl patch like you do on the pc? Should run sweet on a 3dfx card. :)

@fitzsteve
Just imagine how fast an Amiga would be these days if they carried on with the technoligy. Would of been so much better than a pc or mac.

You have a beautiful and powerful Amiga there!
060 rulez!

Its better when you drop the screen size, and once I get Warp3D working I'll be able to play GL Quake =)

framerate seems pretty dire on quake
