  • you do it 8 times each

  • thank you soo much

  • good try but its 8 times buddy ;D

  • Like a missle? LIKE A MISSLE!

  • Wtf man, u cant click the link for "a much better version of this lesson" :s

  • press 0 repeatedly for drums!!!!!!!

  • you tap it with ure pick unless youre kirk hammett or van halen

  • @hammegg lmao i agree

  • Finger tapping is damn easy...

  • I even voted a thumbs up just because you can do it.

    Just explain it better.

  • "Tap it a bunch of times." Tsk.

How many times? Are you teaching this?

You'll only have to do it once and we will do all the practice, after - but we should know how many times we're practicing the repeats.

Why not just say, "Go listen to the record if you want to learn it!" ?

    I stopped the video there.

    You were doing good, too.

  • Hey, this is easy! :D

  • i eat babies

  • @Zodorac wow r u joking

  • Thanks mate! for ages Iv wanted to learn the solo for this song for ages, its a lot easier when someone shows how Its tapped out, its got me back into learning quicker solos. Cheers

  • I dont relly care about what they look like i only cate about the price (i bought myself a perfec guitar for only 80$)

  • get rid of that fender and get a gibson les paul

  • @killaZ8o8 les paul.... nothing wrong with fenders mate. actually fuck both of them and get a carvin.

  • I bet Cliff Burton could play this =D

  • you can hear your tapping much louder when you use a halfstack.

    or use alot of distortion

    just like harmmonics

plus the tapping part is actually eight times

    its just real fast

  • MAN, AWESOME VIDEO, YOU HELP ME !! THANKS

  • Its best to use your finger because if u use your pick, what happens if you go to the G string? Then the back of the pick will hit the B string and mess it up

  • for some reason when i tap on the frets below the 12 they sound small pathetic you play like notes but i play chirps -_-

  • thanks so much brahh!

  • this video is easy to learn with thanks mate

  • you suck bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just tap with the pick. Its alot easier because there a solo with a pick right after so you might delay the solo if your not that quick.

  • and then *cough* then you *cough* after that *cough* lol

  • haha like a missile

  • whever i do it its really quit how can i make the tapping louder?

  • dude u do not have a 22nd fret sorry but just cuz that last thingy is there doesent mean u have it if it dont make a full sound u dont got it

  • dude you should seriously take this video off youtube... you're playing it all wrong.

  • man you aree playing this wrong you have to with pick tapping omg

  • @mirztak actually u can do both ways

  • ok man thx

  • i just learned how to tap and i dont use pick

  • thnx i can play thefirst bit now

  • YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG

  • @PhillipMccloud What wrong ??

  • you do it eight times not four

  • me to to much gain doesnt give me what i want and it makes sour sensitive noises

  • Ohh great thanks your video helps me a lot but can someone tell me how to adjust my amp??

  • Hey I have the same Amp as you what are your settings bc mine got al f-ed up after my bro touched it lol and I can never get the sound perfect like urs lol. Great Vid!!

  • well i tryed to folo but i had 2 major problems...

    1.iv only got an acoustic

    and

    2.i only have 20 frets :(

ill get it some day :(

    but gd lesson dude :)

  • hey i hav the same amp, wat settings did you use and how high was the master volume when making this video!! and by the way you play AWESOME!!

  • would it work on a ms4

  • The patterns for each tapped segment is wrong. There's a powertab with the correct solo on ultimateguitar(.)com

  • helped so much ty

  • dude i cant fucking finger tap its driving me crazy i just caant do it

  • tap with the edge of your pick

  • hi, I'll give you a couple of tips: you have to move your finger in a circular motion, and at one point your finger has to connect with the string (preferably with the tip of your finger), but u have to hit it fairly hard to get a decent sound. I would also recommend trying an easier sonf for tapping, like "hot for teacher" by Van Halen. If this makes any sense what so ever, then I deserve a hi 5 :) have fun with it

  • use ur pick metallica maiden 01234

  • @metallicamaiden01234 its easy

  • @nirvanadude1990 maybe for u

  • @metallicamaiden01234 i used to kno how u feel. First, maybe try tapping van halen style, up instead of dowm. Then practice down. For me, it was a lot easier.

  • @sjlarcadia i'll try that for now im just using a pick to tap

  • @metallicamaiden01234 try using your pick to tap instead of your finger. make sure your gain is up

  • @metallicamaiden01234 you dont finger tap, u use the edge of the pick to tap.

  • @cartmanrulez32 ik ive been told thank you it works a lot better than using a finger

  • @metallicamaiden01234

How good you can tap also depends on the guitar u do it on ;p

I have a Custom SG I can't tap on and a BC rich mocking bird I can tap on.

  • @CypherThanatos hmm im doing it on a fender strat i can do it decently now(that was a long time ago) but im gonna get an ibanez which im guessing will be great for tapping on

  • @metallicamaiden01234 yeah, i have an ibanez gio and it sounds good on that.

btw its a lot easier to do the tapping bit with the edge of your pick. it comes much clearer

  • @d2creations yeah i got an rg3 and its pretty good for tapping

  • just bend on 21 to 24..

  • wow nice, but from 3:40 it dont sound so right,, an u can play it on any guitar with 22 frets,, ibanez in my opinion is good cause it has guitars wit 24 frets an high gain output pickups,, and thats y u find alot of guitarist switch from jackson 2 esp,, like kirk hammett,, high gain output pickups that fender usually doesnt have,, an this is commin from some1 who has a fender an ibanez,, but if ur a great guitarist u can make this solo sound good on pretty much any guitar

  • lol

guitarplayer630 u have got nothing to be proud about your Squire its a lame guitar...

    and btw nice vid

  • yo momma is a triple pull offs lol good job

  • that guitar looks like my Fender Squire Strat

  • it sounds alot like erouption i like it

but do u have to have distortion on when u play this or the wah

  • yay fender

  • you dont have the 22 fret but you can still bend it trought the 21

  • why do u search these videos if u already know how to do the solo

  • i dont know the hole solo but i knew that part

  • ur the best freaking person ever thanks so much and u might wanna get a knew guitar if it doesnt even have 24 frets :P u rock!

  • holy crap!!!

  • I thought you tapped with pick???

  • You can do that to. Whatever feels more comfortable to you.

  • thanks for putting this on.i finaly know how to play it.

  • i have 24 fret

  • actualy ur suposed to use the pick for the higher notes

  • Lol... Good terminology... (Sarcasm) Other than that, it was pretty good.

Like a missile= Tap like a hammer on

    Speed Pick=Tremolo Pick

    Move down to=Slide

Speed picking is also known as synch picking where your pick is synchronized with your fingers. Metallica uses Speed Picking in For Whome The Bell Tolls.

  • OMG great lesson THANKS :)

  • OMG You are great :D:D I alway found only the tapping part, but now you rescue me :D

  • i was with him until he said today....

  • One- by matallica

  • metallica, u animal

  • lol

  • hahahahaha what?? a missle?

  • i was with u till u said, Like a... missile?

    er

    it was good though

  • your playing it wrong thats not how u play it

  • yea it is

  • umm yes it is..

  • no, the tapping is 8 taps, not 4

  • um, no it is 4

  • im almost 100% positive its 8 not 4

  • yes you are right, it's 8, I'm 100% sure. You have to tap at twice the speed he's tapping at to pull it off in the same amount of time.

  • yep #1 Metallica fan here

    its 8

  • Yes I suppose the lessons are for regular guitar players. The real solo not only is twice as fast but also has a much more complicated pattern.

Here it is, if you read tablature. (t means tap, p pull off, h hammer on, it goes on the 1st string)

    ----t19-p15-p12-t19-p12-h15...and repeat.

But hey! that doesn't mean this kids guide is not useful. My respect for him.

  • told ya

  • wooooooooo...thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i got the same amp =)

  • I´ve got a Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 and it sounds much better, when I tap with my fingers ...

  • tapping at 4:45 is really hard =/ idk how to tap with my fingers, only my pick

  • i can only do the oppisite ha

  • same!

  • i can tap with both! sweet!

  • yeah thats great thank you

  • thank you so much!!!!!! :)

  • hey zodorac!! is ur real name jordan???

  • no my name is not jordan

  • why do you thnk his name is jordan??

  • cuz i thot he was my old neighbor cuz he was hella good talked like him and had the same guitar

  • i can tap really fast but not for long lol it just doesnt sound really load so im gonna work on its

    random guitarist info #23

lol good vid found it helpful with the tap hammer on part

  • On some guitars it sounds better if you tap with your finger !!!

  • you have to pick tap, not fingaertap

  • you dont have to for some people you get a clearer sound when you tap with your finger

  • acually it depends on how well you tap if your realy good at tapping you get a realy clear sound

  • no you dont

  • I see what's with your guitar. You have a Stratocaster (or Strat-type at least) guitar. They only have 21 frets, not 22. That 22nd fret you were trying to play is just some wood sticking out. You'd have to fret the previous fret (with the dot) and bend 3 frets to 24 if you want to do that, and that's a bit harder.

  • you should do the triplets 8 times each not 4 (still good though)

i see what you mean with the bend to 24th fret. its easy for me though. i have an ESP KH2 (kirk hammett guitar) and that has 24 frets.

  • ibanez guitar

  • wow, that was different. He only taps 4 times not 8, he's afraid to bend the 22nd fret even though it will bend to sound like a signature clapton 25, and his speed picking could improve. still, i'm gonna give this a 7 because it could still help a beginner

  • i think i have the same amp as you

oh, and thanks for posting this, it helped alot

  • hey i got a question.... how to u get to just tap so loudly if u know what i mean.... other than that if i practice my tapping i think i can do it good! thanks!

  • no actually i have no idea what u mean...plz elaborate...

  • You need to make sure you are tapping at the correct spot, too. It's not in between two frets but just behind the fret you are playing.

And make sure that when you take your finger off, you "pull" it off so that the next note rings clearly. It takes some practice and I don't have it 100% down yet, but it's do-able. Tweaking your amp/guitar settings helps a lot, too.

  • hey,thanks you really helped me out:D

  • could you practice this on a acoustic?

  • it would be hard because you cant really reach the frets past 12 on acoustic, but I don't know much about acoustic guitars

  • can a beginner at guitar but a bassist thats good play this without much troble?

  • thanks your my new hero lol

  • man that vid was awesome its the only one ive seen where it shows the whole solo! most vids only show the tapping part. 5 stars! thx!

  • Thanks a lot! :) this vid helped me very much!!!

  • wait... how do you tap so loudly on the high e?

cuz thats really weird, i heard you have to get ligh strings or something, pleez help

  • If u have an effects pedal theres a thing called noise gate which basically allows you to tap more loudly but if you don't one then just practice a whole. That 19/20 fret tap for this particular solo isnt actually that necessecary, just make sure you pull off well to the 15th.

  • thanks a lot, i noticed it gets a lot easier with practice, but a nice distortion pedal would really help

  • thanks i have been trying to play this for so long and i finaly found a good how-to vid

  • I have the same amp!

  • i have the same gutar

  • good see my version

  • Wish my amp was as good as yours. :[ Very helpful.

  • thanks, very helpful

  • sweeeeeeet

  • Is that a Line 6 amp? if it is what setting is it on because i have a line 6

  • nice vid. love that amp

  • helpful thanks

  • Amazing :D

  • your really good dude! thanks!
