This guy doesn't know what he is talking about. The extra damage of the winger is nothing compared to how much you can do with the pistols extra shots. Already after the first reload it is out damaged by the pistol. And the doublejump against GOOD PLAYERS is damn stoopid, you are way to predictable and good soldiers will rape you even harder because they can just juggle you before you land.

Also, Crit-A-Cola and Bonk Punch are in essence useless and not worth the lack of a secondary weapon. The Winger's damage bonus isn't worth the smaller clip.

Best primary is either the stock Scattergun or the Soda Popper (though the Popper puts you at a slight disadvantage vs other Scouts).

I'd almost always use the Sandman as your melee unless there's a worthwhile shortcut you can take the Atomizer (CTF Doublecross for example).

Out in the open, Scout vs Soldier is a close match as long as Scout stays at mid range and doesn't get too close. In confined spaces you're pretty much screwed. What's important is that you NEVER let him have higher ground. Sandman makes Heavy much easier. Demo can kill you in a couple hits but he's cumbersome offensively and usually you shouldn't have too much trouble unless he's very good and you're predictable. Biggest threat is sentries. Even mini sentries. Battle Engineer is tricky.

1. shoot first 2. don't miss. hitting your target square in the chest is the difference from doing 30 damage at 3 yards and 30 damage at 30 yards.

If you get somewhat more experienced, pyros will never annoy you anymore, unless you encounter them in a small room (wich you shouldn't with good awareness). You can just keep shooting them while you're staying out of their range, then jump over them and do it again. Btw the boston basher is great: when flanking, you hit an enemy once (impossible to miss), then you shoot the shit out of them.

Yeah, the best weapon for taking out Pyros is the mad milk. If you use the shortstop with it, for the Milkman set, then you can extinguish yourself, and have an infinite funnel of health. Also, take advantage of the Shortstop's tighter spread. It is fairly effective in medium range.

Secondary: Varies. If i'm on a defensive team I use the winger, if I'm on offense I use Atomic Cola or whatever it is, it gives you 8 seconds on invincibility.

Oh and keep in mind, Soldiers can be a problem for scout, in a one on one situation, at close range, there will be no problem to hit you, aswell as they can time were you will land after dubble jumping, and the direct hit is a good tool to use against flying targets.

@Nic323232 Scout doesnt have a jar of piss, that is the sniper, its called jarate and it is a secondary.

demoman shows smily face as a taunt with his primary weapon, which is normally the g key or you can reassign in options

to use the scout stunball, you need the sandman bat, it wont work with normal one, it is the secondary fire (right click) the scout will hit the ball with the bat, it recharges slowly, or you can pick up your original ball.

Good guide....however going headon vs a Heavy is never a good idea, better to flank them or even jump over them to confuse them.

Personally i Like the Scattergun, Mad milk, Sandman mostly because of the utillty it gives me. Stun for those key targets, Healing for team + anti spy.

Haha I'm also a good scout player and as you I also hate Pyros :D Those are the only ones that always can hit you and is close to impossible to avoid in close range. That's why I always back off when it comes pyros and shooting them at range or just run around and ambush them! As you didn't mention the bat s really good to use when your behind a heavy. Because you hit really fast and the heavy is too slow to turn around! Omg why am I writing so much?

To me what really brings down the MP aspect of a game is the horrible mannered players and those that feel everyone should play their way online. Its not the game that is always the problem its the community at large that makes or breaks the fun in the game, minus any balance issues of course. Competition brings out the worst in the majority of people and only a small percentage are respectful and sportsman like in my opinion. Why? everyone hates to lose and many will do anything to win.
