@Ravencullen95 what movie were you watching? there were scenes in the movie that came out of " the vampire lestadt". maybe it had some elements but to me the movie was only 2% of the book...maybe less
But.. this kinda sounds like it been recorded from the inside of a glas jar.. is there any possibility to make it sound better?.. or should I blame youtube :P
WARNING SPOILERS what i dont understand is how all other vampires can still be alive after Mekare kills Akasha.can someone who has already read explain? thanks i will be so grateful.
Only Mekare took in her last bit of blood. thuse taking her death into her. The others did not drink till her last bit of blood was gone, Mekare took in her last bit and took her death as well.
that is not realy true! that's only what happened in the movie because they changed the whole story!
In the book mekare the twin sister of maharet eats her heart and her brain. they call it the funeral feast. she takes akasha's power into herself. i don't think they know exactly how it happend. unlike the movie in the book mekare doesn't become a statue. she becomes the new queen of the damned.
See thats what I would have thought would have happened in the movie. To me: I like to think she turned to stone cause she became the queen of the damned. Because Akasha was stone at one point you know...-wants to read book now-
Oh, I haven't read this one yet, already bought it though, I'm reading The Vampire Lestat now, I'm at page 300 or so, I'm loving it! Amazing story!! Interview with the vampire and Queen Of The Damned movies were supercool too! An audiobook is just what I need to improve my English ;-) Thanks for putting this on!
Ah, the reader is otherwise quite good choice for reading of something from Lestat's point of view, only he should sound much younger for the atmosphere to be right. But I'll listen more...
Thank you for posting Queen of the Damned audio clips Isalmendra. I really appreciate it. I love that poem of Stan Rice. May he rest in peace. What does the narrorating for the story? =)~
Actually Anne Rice has said herself that she loves both the movies that spawned from her book.
She even comes out in the special features on both DVDs lol.

@isalmendra I hate the movie! I seriously do. They reversed and cut and combined so much that it destroyed the whole ORIGINAL story line.

@chocolytesprynkles Mekare eat Akasha's brain and heart and took that power into herself.
