  • I saw Jimmy Page's guitar tech use a tuner similar to this when Jimmy broke a string on his Les Paul, Jimmy stepped to stage left (where I happened to be seated in full view) his tech quickly removed/replaced the broken string (low E) and slapped the tuner on, wound and tuned in seconds, Jimmy gave the string a couple of quick stretches the tech used the tuner again and Jimmy was back in business in less than 60 seconds, never unstrapped the guitar ,this was back in the late 80's with The Firm

  • for some people its great and for some people its useless

if you cant go by ear or are to lazy to get a regular tuner then get this

if you can tune by ear dont get this =P

  • this would save me alot of time! haha

  • screw u guys who say its useless. i have one and it is awesome. go buy one. its worth the money.

  • A little bit useless imo

  • floyd rose bridges suck balls

  • haha wat an unnescessary device? does this work with floyd rose bridges as well? fine tuners? and yes make a robotic stringer!

  • can u plug a mic instead?

  • lol who gives a fuck if they claim ur not pro coz u cnt be assed tunin a guitar im getting one xD

  • Give me a robotic guitar STRINGER then I'd be stoked! =D

  • You're right, every guitar player has to be able to tune a guitar by ear [I can, but sometimes I tune it a semi-tone down by mistake =P]

But maybe there can be a special use for it. I beleive the purpose of it was to tune it if you don't know how to, but someone can find another way.

  • a real guitar player shouldnt need this shit. in my old band the other guitar player had one of these. but he was a noob. all he knew were power chords and lame metallica riffs. a real guitar player should be able to tune by ear.

  • But it's good for beginners.

  • pretty soon the guitars will be playing themselves

  • bet they won't

  • eventually they will...all we would have to do is strum the strings probably.

  • Now thats something you really don't need.

btw, Robotic tuners for guitars are nothing new.

Even before Gibson released theyr robot guitar.

I think it was 4 Years ago i saw automatic tuners (you just exchange those with the ones your guitar came with) that worked.

But this device, seriously, who buys that shit ?

Its easier and faster to just tap the tuner on the Floor and do it by hand...

  • yeah, but the tronicals (the ones in the robot les paul, sg...) cost like 900 euros = 1500 $ more or less.

this is basically the same but costs only 30 euros = 50 $

i personally think it's worth the price.

  • Yeah but i didn't talk about the Gibson one.

There is a company, that build the same technique Gibson is using in theyr "new" Robot guitar since 5 years i think.

It works with any electrical guitar (just a small midi pickup near the bridge).

Only if you want the wires to be hidden inside the neck, you should get a guitar builder

I forgot how the company was named, and i'm not shure of those are still available.

Maybee Gibson buyed that company to get the technique ?

    I'm still faster by hand.

  • it was only a matter of time when we got so lazy that they had to make a guitar tuner

  • This is bad, you need to learn to tune and recognize pitch. You won't with this crap.

  • How fucking lazy can you be?

  • @Welanderhumanbeing > Wow! How do your ears turn the pegs? ;)

  • thats y day make robat guitar

  • does anybody actually own one of these? are they worth it?

  • a bit chunky isnt it :P

  • the String Master uses advanced microprocessor technology to sample the sound several times, eliminating harmonics and overtones that plague other tuners and lead to inaccurate tuning. This makes String Master far superior to other guitar tuners.

  • dont pluch the wrong string=P

  • i'd buy this for 30$ max .. cuz it's really useful.

  • lol, that is for what we call " retarted people". I'm sure there's people who consider buying this. I could tune a guitar the first day i got it..dont know why some people can't learn to tune the real way

  • also if you're the "EAR MASTER" you will fail at PERFECTLY TUNING a guitar..also with a good tuner..just due to the fact that your ears aren't precise as a processor unit capable of set the perfect frequency for the given string..it's obvious..and very useful for in-studio recording..by the way..if your guitar is messed up..this thing will not be useful indeed (it cannot adjust your thrussroad-action-floyd rose..and stuff..that's what you're supposed to do before tuning anything..)

  • no one likes to have to poop the party..do they ;/ but did someone not ought to say that tuning and understanding tuning is part of being a fukn muso, anybody?

  • There are so many things wrong with this...

First of all, if you move your hand, while holding the machine it'll probably go out of tune again...and even my little tuning device, that i put just next to my strings when tuning, doesn't pick up the sound of the string evry time...

  • are you blind or what ??? there's a GUITAR JACK BIG AS BIG MAMA !!! the sound goes directly from the guitar to the tuner.......it's perfect...but as I said..the problem is another one...and it is..YOU ALL NEED TO LEARN TO SETUP YOUR GUITAR FIRST...thrussroad - action - floyd rose..n'stuff..and then you can consider buying this thing ( and I will for sure... and not cuz I cannot tune my guitar..but just cause I'm not a PERFECT MACHINE as this thinghy..)

  • this is probelly a stupid question but can you get a guitar tune that can tune to CGCFAD, instead of standard e-drop?

  • It does have a use that I can see. People in guitar shops can use it to tune a guitar quickly, it would save them alot of hassle.

  • Who the hell needs that ... maybe def people

  • who could be that lazy, not to mention stupid

  • "now buy the new robotic arm, this will make guitar playing really easy. You just pluck a string and the arm will improvise starting from that tone. And the best thing is you don't even have to play the guitar yourself!!"

Oooooh I can see it coming now! If you buy this crap it will simply mean that you are either to dumb or too lazy to do it yourself!

  • Very true and funny point my man.

  • I heard that the reason guitarists have a difficult time conditioning their pitch recognition is because they never have consistent tunings on their guitar. This looks like it could fix that problem.

  • dont c how ppl can get fatter and fatter -_- moving ur hands?

  • dude its not a lazyness issue its a guitar issue alot of people like there guitar in perfect tune

  • This tunes your guitar absolutely perfectly so you can develop ear pitch recognition better because your tunings are consistent.

  • harmonics :)

  • This is good for like professional musicians that don't really have time to tune, but if you're not getting paid to play you should definitely learn how to tune yourself so you can build your intunation skills and better musicianship.

  • it takes all of 15 seconds to tune or adjust tuning on a guitar by hand, perhaps for someone who has no pitch recognition whatsoever, but i think its a huge waste of money

  • Agreeeed.

  • LOL !! are you kiddin me ???? you'd probably never encountered the words THRUSSOROAD - GUITAR's ACTION - floyd rose...15 seconds is the time that you'll play a song before someone smash your guitar on the floor..it tooks HOURS (if not days in an UP/LOW BOW case ) to PERFECTLY SETUP the tune

  • Jimmy can tach himself to play a righty... flipped upside down.... and you need a can-opener looking device to find standard tuning. Get real bro. You're either suffering from true pitch envy... or you have stock in this piece of shit.

  • I'm suffering from the stupidity around me....you've probably never owned a guitar with such things...so...you'd better shut up...don't try to be right on an argument where YOU ALL suffers from KNOWLEDGE..in my opinion this thing is for the GUITARISTS..not for the "EVERAGE"..and due to the fact that you're part of the "second specie"..you shouldn't even make a comment about it..cause you just don't need it...

  • What exactly have you done there skippy? Did you finally beat "Cliffs of Dover" on Guitar Hero 3 in expert mode. Good luck mate!

  • wings... i'm thinking this liadon666 guy should start out with maybe a simple foghat riff and move up from there. BTW liadon666...If you're suffering from the stupidity around you, why not pick up a book.. say a dictionary.

  • why a dictionary??? if the problem is some grammatical error you could at least open my profile to understand that I'm not american , nerd...if you wanna talk in italian/polish/ukrainian/french/spanish no problem dude..betcha you cannot talk something different by your probably badly accented english..so..mr american..try to be smart and just tell me where I'm wrong( in an intelligent way..please..and avoiding child sentences like "pick a dictionary")

  • Tom & Jerry are timeless ya figlio di puttana. Go wash your fuckin hair & tell your mom to cut the spice back on that shit she calls puttanesca. -- Acqua cheta rovina i ponti.

  • HAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!... Not sure what the Italian meant... but that was some funny shit. That dude's a stupid fuckin poser anyway.

  • stupids always comes in pairs........huauahuahuahuahuhu (italian proverb)

How can I be considered a poser ??? I'm only trying to make some information....( cause it lacks a lot in this place.....) and if you don't like it...do what I told to "wingsownyou"

  • you're italian sux compared to my english you fucking mother fucker son of a raped bitch...you're acting just like a fucking GAY..go wash your hair ??? this don't have sense !! if you don't want to understand how a guitar works ( ..cuz it'll proves my point right..) go make a blowjob to a dog n' suck its fuckin hotdog's cum you stupid deep gay throat...maybe it'll makes you more intelligent.......LOL

  • I understood his Italian better than your English. Chillax.

    Still water runs deep.

  • as we all understand that you're a freakin moron...due to the simple fact that the only understandable words are "figlio di puttana" (son of a bitch)..the other things are justa bunch of shit without any sense..anyways..I'm bored of your stupid comments..why should I listen to noobs while PROS had reviewed this thing as "the handy tool every Guitarist should have" ?? your sentences are just useless shit...regards

  • guitar hero is for kids like you mr. 28 years old TOM AND GERRY lover.......shut the fuck up

  • Tom and jerry are legends leave them out of this!

  • thats why people are getting fatter and fatter

is this tuner for people who have only one arm and no ears?

  • nope...is for the GUITARIST that knows the meaning of the word "GUITAR SETUP" and that need a perfectly tuned sound that your ear will never be able to achieve..never heard the words "studio recording" ??

  • I Bought this Tuner on line I hope it not Piece a Shit MAchine:( because I heard good things About this tuner:) Cant wait until it arives^_^

  • how was it?

  • well!????

  • we are getting too lazy

  • lazy ??? as I said...it's not lazyness...this thing brings to you the perfect sound at the right frequency for every string..so that you'll be able to play a TUNED song with your band next time..

  • if it could tune to tunings other than standard...

    i would buy one lol

  • im so pissed! im going to the shop to buy a tuner :\ not jk

  • thats pretty awesome but are we that lazy? but yeah deffinently cool idea

  • cmon...it's not laziness...that's perfect sound need...never wondered about recording in a studio ?? that's the toy you'll need

  • nice, i like...

  • damnit! i so thought of that like 5 years ago...i wish i didn't smoke so much pot and i could have patented that shit! whatever good job whoever invented it

  • if you didn't smoke so much pot, you wouln't have had that idea ^^

  • LOL! so did I, ahhh i love Po

  • 420!

  • Amazing, I want one

  • looks like a load of bullshit to me

  • lazy motherfuckers

  • haha

  • That is so amazing !

  • ohh man that sucks...

  • thats cool, will it work on guitars with floating brdiges though? i doubt it :(

  • are you talking about floyd rose bridges ? if yes...you're wrong..it's obvious that it will...you will only have to tune every string many times until it's done..(as we do every times with our hands..)

  • looks freakin amazing.

  • Now thats my kind of a guitar tuner cause I cant tune guitar for shit.

  • Does anyone know if you can use this on acoustic guitars (saw an acoustic adapter selling with this somewhere), and can you do drop D and other alternate tunings?

  • You can use this on any guitar with pickups. Or you can hook a mic up to the tuner for guitars without pickups. There is an optional microphone attachment if you do not have a mic.

For drop D tuning, you can set it in manual mode and choose the d string. You can also change each pitch from 440Hz, to 436,438,442,444, and 446..

There is another model coming out next year that will have alternate tunings such as open d..

    Hope that helps!

  • @agent0064life

    1.Get reference tone (A)

2.Tune your 5th string to that note

    3. Tune the rest of the strings by ear

4.Skip buying a useless device that hinders your ability as a guitarist

    5.???

    6.Profit

  • I rather tune it my self and get a free ear training exercize, ..

but if you allready invented this gizmo why not do it

    built in the guitar :)

  • Doh!

  • I don't remember the name..but there's a robotic guitar with an auto-tuning device built in...a gibson if I'm not wrong...

  • yes the gibson robot guitar
