can i ask if stockard channing actually broke her leg in season 3 . love cj she so hillarious , singing im too sexy at work lol haha , fab actinf from cj and abbey
I was/am a HUGE die hard SFU fan, and think it's a brilliant show, and at the time I was pissed it didn't win. That was BEFORE I saw the West Wing. SFU and WW are totally different in every way (aside from incredible writing and acting), but the WW truly did earn it. I agree with most posters here that it is probably the greatest drama ever put on television in history. How lucky were we to see it in our generation. Utterly astounding art in every possible way.
Nominated for 21 Emmy Awards that year. It was a real blessing being part of a generation who was blessed by such an intelligent, smart and deep example of entertaining.
The first four years of TWW weren't just good TV, they were art.
It looks as if when they got up there Brad Whitford picked up Martin Sheen for a second then put him down - I know weird - the guy was on Ellen putting his feet behind his ears though for real

If you look at 2002 top 10 lists of the critics or stuff like that, you'll see SFU and 24 in top of every list not The West Wing. The show started to lose its touch in the beginning of the 3rd season.I really love the show, first two seasons were tv at its best, but you have to stop being fanboys and admit quality started to drop at beginning of the season 3
SFU was good TV but 24? please! Let's not forget that critics are just people who get paid to give their opinions, that doesn't make them Gods and also let's not forget that Top 10 lists are made to galvanize popularity and WW was NEVER popular by any standards of pop TV. 24 and SFU had a gimmick, that's the reason they topped lists, their quality had nothing to do with anything.
Tv critics aren't peoples choice, it has nothing to do with popularity, most of them are people (at least the ones im talking about, like critics in TCA) who had education, degrees about tv and cinema.TWW was also universally acclaimed by them when it was in its prime.
I certainly don't make them Gods, but i value their opinions more than some biased fanatics of one show (no offense)
My favourite season was 4, and really liked where it went in 6, I thought the creeping sense of cold from closure was brilliant. 3 was good, 5 was ok, 7 was mixed. All were still great.
I don't see how people can view the west wing as anything other than the best show ever put on tv. I truly and deeply miss its presence in a tv landscape now sullied by mindless reality drivel and popcorn shows with no depth or purpose. I like CSI, I love a lot of what HBO does but the West Wing was pure magic every week.
I completely agree. At its "worst", West Wing was still heads and shoulders above the rest. Watch the DVDs in sequence - they're completely addictive.
100% agree. even in the last couple of seasons the show was still one of the best to ever be aired. and i definitely agree with the DVDs being addictive- I have all the seasons and watch them all the time lol
6 Feet Under was a good show but on the whole, the West Wing was far superior... the level of writing, directing and acting on this show has never been nor will it ever be equaled...
And who said Crack leads to nothing but bad things? Only Sorkin can win a boat load of Emmys on the junk.

She did break her leg while hiking around Malibu I believe, so they wrote it into the story.
Ah yeah, I love the 'I'm Too Sexy' bit. One of those songs that's a guilty pleasure, hehe.

PS: TWW stayed on top of its game for as long as Sorkin was writing it. The only thing that dropped in Season 3 was Rob Low :p
talking about fans ;)
