for the last boss i had 2 really beat him slowly and it took me about 3 hours becuz this is the only song that is different in the whole entire game of battles
Brings back memories. On my first runthrough of the game, I was so weak that I actually had to use the Erde Kaiser finish Sophie off! I couldn't believe how strong the final boss was!
Second time through the game, I completely destroyed Sophie. By the end of the fight, I still had my instant-revive technique in place and a spell that would halt my characters hp to 1; in case they ever were about to be killed in the first place.
I heard this song for the first time being played over a pro match of Super Smash Bros. Melee. I was like: "WTF is this? It's like throwing me a musical curveball every second! Needless to say, I had to have it. It probably is my favorite battle theme to date, it's just so damned unique it's unforgettable.
I loved how Xenosaga was so religious in its tone. In a way you would need to play it more than once to fully understand the game...let alone the series.
UGH. This music is so amazing it's like an overload. The feeling is so intensely powerful that I'm having difficulties not exploding. The music isn't necessarily heavy, but it's just so remarkable... How can anyone resist Xenosaga if we get music like this?
Suffice it to say Xenosaga series has one of the ABSOLUTE best soundtracks overall. Many of the songs in the games are great. I am a huge fan of the Halo soundtrack and even that doesn't touch this games soundtrack. Thats IMO anyway.
@LynellD11 Quite true. All you really gotta do is get him below 10k HP and then just summon Erde Kaiser. Even without EK its still ridiculously easy.
hmm this boss fight had me spamming moves from left to right like crazy..good thing I had shion , kos-mos and chaos in the group...it was quite long but I took it out..its been awhile since I've heard this theme..
at this point of the game I was totally in love with Xenosaga, and the last boss... thought it wasn't the hardest one to bet definitely was a nice closure to the episode... I can remember "he Fused the Gnosis With the reactor!!!!, and the timer still going on :D EPIC
@Astraphobic yea i hated that to, it was a good game, but because of that i couldn't get through it. The same repetitive theme over and over and over again. It could've been much better if they had the standard difference in boss music. They must've been on a low budget composition wise to start. I've heard the later games are much better.
Man I remember fighting Albieto before hearing this. Bravesoul, commanders crest, dubble buster equiped to everyone. The two final bosses where where so easy, cakewalk wasint used because I didn't put cake in the oven yet. Or it was so fast is was quicker then Albieto's head regenerating.
@Joehop777 Sorry for dubble posting but, I misspelled Albedo wrong. Hes the coolest charicter/villin ever in video game history. "Theres plenty of it. Like my head you see!" - Albedo
lol, you must have misread my comment. Nowhere in my post did I say that I was not satisfied with the songs. Yasunori Mitsuda is my favorite VGM composer, and this is one of my favorite pieces from him.
Ohh i really love the last boss fight music :D It makes me think of the music when your fighting the Time Devourer in Chrono Cross:) Really nice music:D
I'd build about 5 or so levels before taking it on and making sure you some Techs are equiped in the near section. Also know that Sophia's boost will take over yours and you can't over power the enemie's boost
Um... by "near" section, do you mean the kind that can be fired off with two button presses and only 4 AP? I've got plenty of those...
Is grinding really the only answer? I mean, I hate having to do that... I don't mind fighting underleveled; heck, I beat Sapphire's Elite Four at only lv. 47.
And yeah, I know about the counter-boost. But Sophie is hardly the only boss that does it.
One last thing... my lineup is Jr-Momo-pilot (it works great for the Albedo fight), any thoughts about that?
33 is the level you will be at if you fight every enemy you encounter in the game...it is more than enough to win if you have Bravesoul and Double Buster. I equipped both to Jr. at this level and after upgrading the Tech all the way my attacks were doing 2800 each...so in a normal turn with Jr. it is possible to inflict 6000 damage.
This was the most pathetic boss in the game, following the hardest, how weird. I didn't like Episode 1 and nearing the end of 2, which is remarkbly better but still a weak game, I don't think I'm going to play 3
Seriously!! As much as I love Episode I, it annoyed me infinitely that there was only one battle song until the very end. I started muting battles because I couldn't stand the song anymore.
what do you mean the battle song is graet i loved battles becuas of it.Battle music that gets old is final fantasy and pokemon battle music now THAT gets old.
I'm not sure how it resembles "Decisive Battle". I guess the piano part could be easily mistaken for sounding similar, but the songs as a whole sound completely different to me.

Someday soon I should replay this, one of the most amazing RPG's I have ever had the pleasure to experience.
All the music was great, and the final boss music made that battle seem epic, disregarding the fact that Sophie Peithos only got to act twice.

It makes me think of a battle that transcends time...like a victory that will be remembered forever or a loss that will eradicate the future.

This is probably mitsuda's Magnum OPUS when it comes to battle themes.
It's so original, and well layered.
Everytime I listen, I hear something different.

it's risky at lv 33 you may be able to beat sophie. Just make you have the curcuits
+4 equiped and Heal Guard 10% just in case. W-acts suck-don't use them.

Level up o.o 33 is way too low a level. I was near 47 when I took him on, and I STILL had a tough time.
