Today, a group of people decide what's in good taste, fashion magazines promote those ideas, people who can afford it wear it, other designers copy those looks and sell them at a cheaper price. The end result is people wearing similar or even identical looks because someone is telling them what is fashionable and what isn't. At that point all individuality is thrown out the window, leaving the people with questionable fashion trends.
