when I saw them in London, alot of people left already, which was unfortunate. It was the closest to a religious experience I have had ever. It was epic! Also one has to appreciate that they said in the beginning of their shows, that they are not, not want to be Bathory. It was their tribute to a great band and as such they did justice to Quothorn and Bathory.

Hmmm... Although Nemtheanga is a fucking great singer, technically better than Quorthon, he will never be able to sing like him and to summon the unique Bathory atmosphere imo.

das ist wohl eine der grössten Herausvorderungen.. Bathory ist quasi meine Lieblingsband, dass sie an Quorthon nicht herrankommen war mir von vornehin klar, ich hoffe ich kann bei der liveshow über die Unterschiede hinwegsehn.

Mhm. Also irgendwie ist das alles recht unausgegoren. Man sollte als Tributband schon a: Das Tempo einhalten b: Gesungene Parts nicht growlen c: Die Melodien so singen wie sie gedacht sind. So wie der Sänger in diesem Video singt, können die Liveauftritte nur ein Reinfall sein. Die Band ist gut.

@tschesny Als Tribute Band muss man nicht jeden Song genau so spielen wie das original. Vor allem bei Bathory passen einige Gesangsteile und auch Gitarren-/ Drumparts im Original nicht wirklich (wie Alan im Vido richtig bemerkt). Deshalb müssen einige Details abgeändert und verbessert werden, wenn man die Songs auf hohem Niveau spielen will. Da die mitwirkenden Musiker alle über einen viel höheren technischen Standard als Quorthon besitzen, bin ich mir auch sicher, dass ihnen dies gelingt.

@Arahain Das mag sein. Dennoch leben Bathory Songs - etwa vom Twilight of the Gods Album - von großen (zwar technisch nicht guten aber voller Emotion) gesungenen Melodiebögen. Gleiches trifft auf Hammerheart, Blood On Ice etc. zu.

Nehmen wir "Father To Son". Die Strophe wird gut gesungen. Im Refrain bleibt allerdings kaum etwas von der Melodik übrig. Die Töne werden irgendwie verwischt; sie müssten viel breiter ausgesungen werden.

@tschesny Ja, bei Father to Son muss ich dir recht geben. Da singt er den Refrain nicht so toll. Nächsten Freitag sehe ich sie live... bin sehr gespannt, wie sie dann klingen!
