Sometimes the video will cut out due to a hardware / software error. If it happened to me I'd pull the HDMI lead out and plug it back in to see if it helps. If not a quick reboot should help. if that doesnt help going into the graphics settings and clicking "detect" should show any more monitors - this is assuming you havent changed channel on your TV or your cable hasnt fallen out of the back of the TV
It would've been a good idea to include downloading the latest drivers for your graphics card. Some resolutions might not be available without downloading the drivers.
That is a fair comment. Downloading the latest drivers could be a good idea but with most current laptops it isnt essential as they all seem to be fine out of the box.
i got a question, why does everything look so big on there? ur screen res is 1920x1080 on the hdtv yet u have 5 tabs open in the start bar and mine is the same with 1920x1080 but i can have 10 tabs open and itll reach the other end.. ?? im on xp im wondering is there a diffrence with that to vista/ win7? why is it like that
Its just the way the OS handles the tabs. In Windows 7 I can have 8 tabs open and the bar is full but when I open more tabs the size of each tab shrinks and you can fit more in.
I have an older TV with just a coaxial input and RCA inputs. Can i buy a RCA to VGA adapter to use? Can i plug the adapter into the back of the computer(where the monitor usally goes) and then take a double male RCA cable and plug one end into the input on the tv and the other into the female input on the adapter?
At around 1min 40seconds we are plugging in a white and red set of plugs into the scart adaptor. these plugs are part of a 3.5mm to phono cable set. One end is a white and red phono plug, the other end is a 3.5mm headphone jack. All we did was plug the headphone jack into the headphone socket of the laptop and the white and red plug into the corresponding sockets on the scart adaptor
