Socially this country is foul. Capitalism is failing because people are selfish. Americans are so selfish, that homeless people in this country are selfish and elitist. The problem should be blamed on promise. And you have all failed.
Never saw this during the election but it was a brilliant response to the "bitter" smear by Obama politically; guess thats why he overcame it. I only wished he would've told those working class whites that they have more in common with working class minorities than with rich whites. People would call it "class warfare" but I believe in that. Bush raided the Social Security funds poor people pay for with payroll taxes to fund his tax cuts so the rich are already at war with all of us. Wake up!
i dont hate anyone. I'm a mccain supporter. The main reason is. I love the usa. Correct me if im wrong. and we dont need to be bitter. But i want to remain safe and free. And obama getting elected is giving me a slight feeling of doubt. as to our safety in the united states.
You want absolute safety? You should worry about being struck by a car, or being poisoned by the food you purchase in the supermarket, since the possibility of that happening is exponentialy higher than any terrorist attack. Are you worried about being struck by lightning? Didnt think so, its about the same chance , as a bomb going off in your neighbourhood. If you want to be trully free, than some safety has to be sacrificed. In past 8 years, all we saw is the constriction of freedom.
The average republican voter settles for seeing someone in the white house who doesnt make them feel bad about themselves. The republicans target voters and plenty of them who dont want to be talked down to by some suit from Washington acting all smart and $hit. The GOP has repeatedly sent to high offices all across the country a succession of blunt underachieves that who didnt aspire to anything the ordinary American couldnt achieve.
Recently his aunt was found living in a slum. You can tell a mans character by how he treats family. For this man to ignore his aunt while saying he wants to spread wealth around and out of the other side of his mouth spit at blue collar workers (like Joe the plumber) it would seem that he is all about himself. He couldn't careless about you or I this whole candidacy is about one person and one person only, himself. He's better than you and you better not question him.
Please, don't be so modest. I truly believe BO can, and does, embody dozens of traits equally as bad as elitism and socialism. He is a proponent for:
INFANTICIDE - every demodizzy knows how he voted against the Infant Born Alive Prot. Act.
and his circle of friends are absolutely criminal, factually so, in the case of Ayer's & Rezko. You liberals are so forgiving - unless it involves a Republican. The 2 policemen killed weren't your friends or family. NO BO EVER!
They are both elitist and anyone who can't see this is an Idiotist. Wake up! Put your time in something better than these two rich 700 billion dollar bailout voting elitist bastards
riiiight, Obama is the elitist yet John McCain doesn't know how many homes he has and Cindy McCain is wearing 100 thousand dollar outfits to the convention...Obama will give tax cuts to the middle class...because he was middle class until maybe 3-4 years ago...John McCain has been rich for decades...the word "middle-class" was not even spoken at the Republican convention...and they have the nerve to call Obama the elitist...pathetic.
look this book up- "What's the Matter with Kansas?" It explains the elite name calling game that parties use to try to get people to feel out of touch with the other guy. Obama is clearly in touch with people. I live in small town Pennsylvania, i know.
can someone explain to me what an "elitist" is.... every time i watch fox noise, someones accusing an educated democrat of being an elitist. what the fuck is an elitist and why is it a bad thing?
Elitists are, according to my knowledge, people that think theyre better than you. The right wing has used this label to get elected for years. Elitists are painted as snobby know it alls that are "out of touch" with everyday americans that have "small town values." They try to convince people that the president should be a common man of the people, instead of an intelligent one that thinks things through carefully.
Obama's mother was on food stamps. Obama was inundated with student loan up to his eyeballs when he was going to school. Obama passed up several lucrative job offerings from Wall Street and other corporations, so he can remain engaged in community organizing in Chicago. I'm sorry, at least Obama wasn't born with a silver spoon up his ass like that war criminal George W Bush. But Obama's the Goddam "elitist". And the scary thing is, a good % of Americans are buying this crap.
he is out of touch i live down the street from him in downtown chicago he lives in a huge mansion and dosent give a fuck for his so called fans i dont consider them supporters they are more like stalkers and fans
Remember John Edward's $400 haircuts? He was mocked and ridiculed until he dropped out of the race. So where is all the fuss about John McCain, who has been campaigning in style in his $520 black leather Ferragamo shoes? His top-of-the-line calfskin loafers, with silver-tone "Gancini" buckles, are imported from Italy. What better way to show his pride in the good old USA than to travel the country in Italian leather?
Meet John and Cindy McCain, ordinary American citizens. Beer heiress, Cindy McCain is an executive whose worth may exceed $100 million. She spends up to 500K a month on AMEX cards, pays upwards of 300K for staff in all of the McCain's grandiose residences, has a private jet at her service (the only way to get around AZ is by private jet, after all), and purchases clothing from couture boutiques where suits start at $3500.00.
thats wat i dont understand they say bush is like the common man and most likely to have a beer with. COMMON MAN? WTH who wants a president thats like the common man? THE COMMON MAN KNOWS NOTHING. ALSO WOULD U WANT UR PRES to be DRUNK or an Alcoholic??
hardy83: Ever hear any reports that Obama is a hard worker? I haven't. Voting present 130 times? Working hard or hardly working? For your tax dollars: never taking a stand or FLIP-FLOPPING when it benefits him.
I don't want a beer with him NOR him as president!
Chicago Sun-Times-"Rezko did a favor by selling him the 10-foot strip of land, making his own parcel less attractive for development." "Less attractive" and "unbuildable" are not the same thing. Obama has admitted that Rezko was trying to get into his good graces. No one including the Obama critical Sun Times found that Obama did any favors for Rezco as a result of the real estate deal.
How is he putting a twist on it? He is telling the truth that shouldn't be more evident than in the pa primary results. So many people in pa (i know cuz i live here) were voting against him for issues not relevant to them.
let me put things in line for you because you don't seem too smart! A person who has attended 2 IVY league universities doesn't need advice from someone who is not half as eloquent. the only person qualified for that is michelle, and yes she does advice him. please take not and post no more retardedness here on.
A man who didn't become rich until two years ago, and did so through his own work, isn't an "elitist". A man who marries a multimillionaire heiress with a private jet is.
You're missing the point. Anyone can have a smug, elitist attitude, regardless of income level -- I'm sure he learned intellectual elitism at Harvard. Hillary is wealthy, and Yale educated, but she isn't the smug, snobbish pissant Obama is. If anything, she downplays her elite position, as any (tactful) politician who wants to win vote would do.
nice try. even the retry on this arrogant, elitest statement doesnt make sense. Apparently, he actually believes that bitterness is what drives Americans to Christ. Apparently he actually believes religion is something people only follow when they have no hope. Sadly for someone who is clinging for his political life on the idea that he ia a christian... he missed the point of Christ's sacrifice and God's love. There is no hope outside of Christ, And no Govt. can change that.
Oh my goodness. It pains reading your stupid statement. what a wast of time me reading it. anyway you are so sure out of touch. Go keep reading ur bible.
I think your angry comments show that bitterness and anger is not what drives people to the faith. Anger and bitterness are neither a cause nor biproduct of Christianity.
I think your comment could have been valuable though if you had given a reason for your statements. That might have furthered the discussion rather than just added a few hate filled words.
"I'm here to make observations based solely on reason and logic. If you're an emotional idiot who can't handle the truth don't complain to me. It ain't my problem."
What part of calling an idea "old man" is based on logic? Isnt that just using a bit of name calling? Not much "logic" in it at all, rgardless of your political commentary - which I am not concerned by.
It's unbelievable how little attention people pay, obama, clinton, and mcain all voted to fund the war 3 times may 2005, dec 2005, and june 2006, and also in june 2006 obama, clinton, and mcain all rejected a bill authored by john kerry that would force bush to bring the troops home within 1 year. Research their voting records for yourself. wake up, Ron Paul is the only canidate who truely opposes the iraq war and has the voting record to prove it.
"Nobody is looking out for YOU! Nobody is thinking about YOU!"
His whole speech sounds like hes telling the people they are all a bunch of idiots and that no politician has done what they say they will, and thats why the people are bitter. But whatever, hes just a politician like the rest of em.
"...But whatever, hes just a politician like the rest of em." Good point, all three of them are elitists. As that professor in the msnbc story said, by definition out of the THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND people in the US, they consider themselves the BEST for the job. They are all rich, went to good schools etc. Only elitists can afford to run for president in todays society.
Anyway, if you don't consider yourself the best to lead the country you shouldn't be running for prez in the first place!
Please MSNBC, dont be afraid of the Clintons, the news have dogged Obama for a whole week, it is not fair to our country that THE TRUTH is NOT being reported about the Clinton Crime family, who is DECIEVING this whole country once again! I feel so sorry for this nation who choses the dishonest lying candidate over the truthful loyal candidate, and frankly the NEWS Media helps a great deal to promote this!
Wake up people McCain And Hillary is THE SAME!!! NO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER! WAKE UP!!!
"Obama puts down the working class" is a Clinton talking point and absurd if you think about it. The "bitter"remark was during a conversation about getting help to unemployed in PA. His point was the government had broken a lot of promises and he wanted to get folks some help. The whole point of his remarks got edited out and Clinton got us to fixate on "cling". She spun it so well, she got us to think a guy trying to help is the bad guy, and she (Mrs Millionaire/Walmart/ NAFTA) is for workers.
He didn't "grow up in poverty". That is a myth that Wright likes to spread so Obama fits into Wright's favorite category of "poor black man" (eve tho Obama is a mix!)
Obama supporter cliffs notes: Obama Supporter: Obama is about Hope Response: Hillary is about issues. OS: Hillary knows this person. Shame. R: Obama knows this person. Fair Game OS: Context R: Here is the whole clip OS: That person doesn't speak for Obama. Distraction R: Ok let's talk issues OS: Yes, Hope R: That's not an issue OS: Racist.
And what, Chuck, typifies you, aside from the fact that your head is planted firmly in your ass? You should come up for air and do a little more research.
Is about time Obama told the truth and stop worring about what few may take offence too. I think his remarks speaks for alot of americans. Obama live on the south side of chicago, Hillary or Mcain probably never been to the hood without the secret service, so who is the elitist. Somebody tell me.
- Obama did not get a deal on his house.. he got the lot next door for a little below market value.
- No..he didn't grow up in poverty, but there were some hard times when his mom had to apply for food stamps, so he was not exactly rich either...facts are: he only lately got into money ( from book sales) and is still worth a very small fraction of what Hillary is worth..
"he got the lot next door for a little below market value."
That's not a "deal"? A LITLE below? Why didn't Rezko show offer some good "little below" deals to the poor in Chicago who really need them?? Was Obama thinking about those Chicago poor? How dare anyone accept a "deal" from Rezko. He's just another corrupt Chicago guy screwing the poor out of the little bit of help they should be offered...
How do you figure that Rezko paid $625,000 for the lot, sold 10 ft of it to Obama for $104,500 which now made the Rezko lot unbuildable because it doesn't meet minimum lot size, so it was a "profit".?? Also, why was Rezko's sister so anxious to help Obama out? After all, according to Obama's statement at a debate, he only knew Rezko - had done 5 hours of legal work for him.
On June 15,2005 The Obama's purchased the home at 5050 South Greenwood Ave in Chicago for $1.65 million - $300,000 less than asking price. At the same time, Rita Rezko bought the garden plot 5046 South Greenwood Ave for the asking price of $625,000. Jan 2006, Rezko sold a 10 ft strip of garden to Obamas for $104,500. Dec 2006 Rita Rezko sells remainder of garden plot to a lawyer who works for her husband's business for$575,000. The only way into the garden plot is through the Obama's front gate.
gorge- Obama made the highest bid on a home that had been listed for months. Rezco was not the owner of the home. Access to the 10ft section(a side yard)is through Obama's gate..as it should be. The remaining large lot is a corner lot(not a hidden garden) with frontage on 2 streets. Rezco made a profit on the deal. The guy that now owns that lot will make a profit when he sells it. Nothing shady..a normal real estate transaction. Hill would still be all over it if it were shady.
The remaining large lot is now unbuildable because of the 10 ft now missing because it was sold to Obama. Now, how can an unbuildable lot you paid $575,000 for be a good investment? Only if you have access - access to the buyer.
gorge- why is it unbuildable? It's a large corner lot. Have you seen the aerial photo? Looks buildable from the air. Are you an expert in these matters? Have you seen the zoning?
"When Sen. Barack Obama decided to buy a stately $1.65 million home last year on Chicago's South Side, Antoin "Tony" Rezko and his wife wasted no time. The same day the Obamas closed on the house, the Rezkos closed on the purchase of the adjoining vacant lot..."
Yes, you're right. Hillary is worth A LOT MORE THAN OBAMA! IN BRAINPOWER!Which is why she is the only dem I will vote for!
As far as the mansion goes: OBAMA got a HUGE deal! google: Rezkowatch for the details
If Chicago gets the Olympics Obama's home is within walking distance. Means property value will soar. Obama already joked about renting the house out during that time. CORRUPT!!
Wright, who at age 66 is retiring from the pulpit, stressed he was "not a politician," but he quipped: "I would offer myself for candidacy for vice president."
20 years of supporting this pastor and his views, now all of a sudden Obama doesn't agree with him. Come on, how ignorant does he think we are. And now Wright brings up Vice President, this is really getting scarey now. Search it for yourself...
lets not panic give it a week because this to should pass! so I will bet that Obama will not throw him under the bus! because this is now bigger then Wright! it has become abut the black Church! so in next coming month WE will have the RACE discussion that senator OBAMA say we need to have, starting on CNN & radio stations! so it might jest end up being beneficial by November
but next votes may be closer but she can not catch up and they won't take it from him
"It should be pretty clear from the events of the last few days that the relationship isn't that close." David Axelrod 4/28/08
At this point, if you agree with Wright's speech at the NAACP, then Obama's campaign would say you don't understand Obama. Stop trying to sound elevated by accepting Wright's divisive comments.
Oh, wow--ya got me: I never thought anyone would look at my secret profile. You're a Nazi idiot. You think I'd put anything personal on the internet? The dog thing is my take on politics--especially the arrogant BO. Go take a nap little boy, and come back something more intel than your ad hominem (the oldest and weakest politic argument in the world).
Why haven't I seen Hillary's "hopeful, resilient" speech here mashed up with her mocking speech of "the sky will open up and angels will be singing..."?
Obama's actions and subtle innuendo speak louder than if he were to announce that he doesn't give a rat's ass about blue-collar whites, for that is (historically) where most racist attitudes live.
anyone who thinks obama is a racist or is elitist really has no clue. the demographics of the people that support obama are wide ranging. mostly highly educated, young people, people from all races. do you really think that all these people have been misled? give me a break. listen to the message of Obama. the so-called elitist speech was about reaching out to people from small towns and including them in a political process they feel has left them behind. so funny how this has been twisted.
"mostly highly educated..." Haha, not from the crap I've been reading. These so-called "highly educated" Obama supporters apparetnly flunked grammar. So this leads me to believe that the "most highly educated" claim is the Obama Camp's silly-ass spin. His supporters are Abercrombie & Fitch-clad first-time voters; most probably have no clue of his less-than-stellar senate accomplishments, and I'm sure they don't even care. SCARY.
that's truly awesome!! you can't even read! not saying "most" highly educated - that doesnt make sense. could change the sentence to read 'his supporters are mostly young people, the highly educated, and people from all races'. make sense now dumbshit? go back to your fast food, tv, and video games - political commentary is not for you. Is Bill Richardson an A&F first time voter? you're a silly blowhard.
This silly blowhard copied and pasted the "mostly highly educated" line ... not my line, fool. It's yours; maybe if you began a sentence with a capital letter, you could read your own stuff more easily. You're obviously making a feeble attempt to promote the false demographic that implies that "the smarter people vote for Obama." And, for highly educated people, BO supporters' primary defense is the Ad Hominem Attack. I, for one, am not impressed.
I don't think you realize how insignificant Rush has become. He didn't even come close to helping McCain. In fact, McCain realy took off the minute Rush started bad mouthing him.
If he had any real power, North Carolina would be going for Hillary big time because it is a Republican state. The video was a bunch of conjecture by Dan Abrams, someone "in the tank" for Obama.
And just so you know, I was denied the right to vote for Hillary because I am an independent. Conspiracy?
BTW, why won't Obama agree to running off the General Election Fund. He is already breaking promises.
And I don't care how you cut it ... Obama's health plan is a joke. Take it from someone that has watched his father in a coma just a year and a half ago.
He wants to cap credit card rates at 36%, but wouldn't vote for a 30% cap because it was too much.
I really don't know what his message is. Bush's in 2000 was to stop nation building.
@ board405t and others, blacks vote 85-90% democratic, historically. Before Iowa they weren't heavily behind Obama. Iowa doesn't have a large black population. Barack is the first legitimate candidate blacks have ever had !
"Let them touch those things"-- Celine Dion after Katrina. LOL
As mresl puts it, here's a think for yourself moment: Rush Limbaugh and his Operation Chaos
is subverting the democratic process.
Exit polls from AL,MS,TX,OH show the ditto heads are voting for hillary.
vas - black vote is usually not 85-90% for one candidate in primary (unless they are black such as Jesse Jackson). You are talking general election. That vote will be a base for either Clinton or Obama in the Fall. The "Reagan Democrat" however is not a Dem Base.
As far as Rush:
PA vote - 5% total was Republican (those registered Repub in January). It was split 50/50. So where is the conspiracy? Once again, Repubs are playing Briar Patch.
But to their defense, knowing the black experience in this country, if someone like a Barack Obama comes along, can you blame them for supporting him? I personally like his message and with his face as the leader of the free world,he could bring about plenty of positive change in the world.
How many votes do you think Hillary has garnered because of Limbaugh's efforts?
If the media hadn't taken the bait from McClinton's dilberate distortions of Obama's remarks, this wouldn't have been an issue. Thanks to our lazy news media for continuing to dumb down the electorate.
Although the woman vote splits for Hillary slightly, the black vote is basically 100% for Barack. But that was the whole point. Obama will probably win the primary, but lose that advantage in the General Election. Sorry but I canot deal with 2008 McCain. 2000 Bush infuriated me. 2004 Bush perplexed / depressed me. 2008 McCain might just make my head explode.
Apparently plenty of whites vote for Obama, which is shows they are voting based on their preference of candidate,...Not color.
However, it is equally apparent that 90% plus of blacks vote for Obama. Is this because they are all so supportive of his political ambition or could it be because they are voting color?
I everyone has a right to vote how they see fit, but clearly whites are being open minded and voting for issues while it appears blacks are solely voting color, thats ignorance
I absolutely hate that I agree with this. Only because, a friend of mine told me that is EXACTLY why he voted for Obama, and why his wife and ENTIRE family did. How far have we progressed with racial issues? Absolutely NOT far enough. And that is so sad.
@hunterpa64, I agree some whites are being open minded , but Gov. Rendell said himself that "some whites aren't ready to vote for a black President" Let's be honest here, is that not also ignorant?
Since 1960 Blacks have voted over 80% democratic in pres. elections, so maybe they have an "evil radar".
Because we all know what right wing BS is all about.
OBAMA: she voted for it but hoped that it wouldn't pass. Now, I don't understand that approach to legislation ... I think it is important for us to stand up to these special interests consistently, all the time,
EDWARDS: You voted against it because the limit was too high, is that what you just said?
OBAMA: That is exactly what I just said, John, because...
OBAMA: oftentimes you vote present in order to indicate that you had problems with a bill that otherwise you might be willing to vote for
EDWARDS: The question is, why would you over 100 times vote present? I mean, every one of us -- every one -- you've criticized Hillary. You've criticized me for our votes.
Of course I'm counting a USA state. Only a Repbulican would ignore Florida.
I'm conflicted now because I clicked on your profile and I think we are both guitarists. Can't dislike a guy that likes Pantera, Sevendust, etc. Ever check out Skunk Anansie (Sevendust connection). You probably know them, but the female vocalist in this Sevendust video used to be in Skunk:
watch?v=dpWXWoO9wWI
This was their breakthrough song, but their style was very diverse:
I was there for 3years, but I'm back in the states now. It was nice to be able to step away and see how much the media plays a role in society. Got a chance to travel a lot and interact with a lot of different people. From an international perspective a McCain (continuation of Bush) presidency would be another blow to our countries moral standing. Thank God Hillary's chances are so slim. The thought of having to vote for her literally makes me throw up in mouth. (sorry Board405t)
mresl, if only the majority of americans could broaden their perspective, maybe they would bacome better informed. Unfortunately, most never even leave their homestate.
Don't apologize to board405t, he has Hillary blinders on. LOL
I am from Canada, and not familiar with American politics. I find the race very compelling. I don't understand, however, how would you define "Blue Collar" American workers? Are the black African Americans blue collar as well?
The term "blue collar" stems from the color shirt many where as their work uniform(skilled laborers) as opposed to a suit and tie office worker. (white collar).
Thank you. I was lost. From what I have heard on the news it sounds as if blue collar workers were only white. So blue collar workers are of all creeds?
Correct, blue collar workers are of any race/creed/color. So are white collar workers, for that matter. But since white collar workers usually have graduated college and earn more money, they are less likely to be bitter. LOL, just kidding ! A lot of Americans from all walks of life are angry and disappointed in our current leadership.
Heh im a republican and im from the pittsburgh, western penn. area. Most of the stuff hes sayin is true, but we aint that offended. i mean most of us aint votin for him anyways, so this comment is severly overblown as to if this hurts his campaign
"I also want to go to Washington to get some positive things done. It is going to require a new spirit. A spirit of cooperation."
"There's been too much finger pointing and too much name calling in Washington, D.C. I would like to unite this country to get an agenda done that will speak to the hopes and aspirations of the future."
"There is a difference between big federal government and somebody who is coming from outside of Washington"
I cannot concede that Clinton went negative first and more often. Bush/Cheney lite happened in July 2007
watch?v=tqhAJcHy4a0
Before Iowa, Hillary was the presumed leader so her negatives came from the fact that she kept attacking Bush instead of distinguishing herslef from the Democratic candidates.
Imagine Barack being told to get out if slightly behind, refused Florida/Michigan votes, etc. Obamaniacs would call every single person calling for his end a racist. You can't even deny it.
True board405t, I don't remember her going negative until she started losing.Actually I think Bill started it, by marginalizing the S.C. defeat with his Jesse Jackson comment.
But I do recall John Edwards pointing out her attacks during an early debate.
I watched the video and I think you mischaracterized it. Edwards was attacking Hillary .. period. You miss the point that she was attacked well before Hillary attacked them. I'm not saying she hasn't been negative, but to suggest Obama is just responding is a joke.
Now as far as Bill Clinton, I think it is disgraceful what has been reaped upon the greatest president of my lifetime. He shouldn't have said it, but when Obama gets 90%-100% of the black vote, let's not pretend race isn't involved.
Of course we are dismayed with the grand incompetence of the Bush(es). That is why people are so adamant about getting the next president right. I truly believe Clinton is what is needed and I have history on my side.
vasectomy, I'm hoping Obama a) can win the purple states because McCain v. Obama / McCain v.Clinton show she has the edge there. I have no doubt Clinton is our best shot in the GENERAL election. b) I hope Obama finds some geniuses with middle class loyalty on his cabinet because I don't think he is a detail man, which means it is easier to mislead him.
I am extremely worried about his health care because successful systems are mandatory. I'd trade it for social security if pushed.
Why did quite a few of Barack's felow state representatives want "anybody but Obama" when he entered the Nationa Stage. We can trade tit for tat on their burnt bridges. I can't tell you what Richardson thought. Quite frankly, people that align themselves so strongly with someone else only to betray them speaks more volumes on themselves.
Why did Powers call Hillary a monster? Why have his people winked off American mdeia that Obama isn't really who he says he is?
Not to sound too harsh on Obama. Along with T. Roosevelt, F. Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Johnson, and B. Clinton, Obama has a very good chance of joining some of my favorite presidents of the modern era. I just think Paul/H. Clinton had a better shot at being truly great.
Why even talk about NC, Indiana? Hillary just pulled ahead in the popular vote on my card. Time for Obama to drop out. Annoying isn't it?
Pa, you see how much Mr Obama cares about PA, he isn't even staying here to hear the results and "potentially" thank his voters. He has moved on to Indiana. Whats that say about how much he cares about PA?
Your vote was just a number to him, time to solicit the next group in Indiana.
Don't worry. If Clinton, Obama and McCain implode, I will vote Paul. Of course that is a one in a million fantasy, so I will vote Obama if it is Obama v. McCain. I guarantee you 99% of Democrats will vote for the Dem. nominee. The race isn't over so the "I will vote McCain before Obama/Clinton" is just posturing. I would believe "I won't vote at all" before I believed that. I'd swear Republicans are secretly voting Dem by taking the Bush 3rd term platform.
Obama came from a poor family, but got an Ivy League degree became he was bright. Dubya and Hilary got theirs because their daddies were rich. The latter are the real elitists. Obama's not the one sucking up to the corporate lobbyist teat.
First: Everybody knows Hillary is extremely intelligent, and I would wager moreso than Obama (whom I think is extremely intelligent as well).
Second: do you even know what elitist means? It is not a state of wealth but a point of view. I'm sorry but anybody that argues the elitist viewpoint like this drives me nuts, including Michelle Obama. BTW, Barack-smart / Michelle-not so much.
board405t, I agree with your point of view most of the time. However Michelle is also a Harvard grad, and if you go to Obama's channel, you will find many of her speeches. She is very intelligent.
Also, Hillary will make a great Senate majority leader. Rumor has her running for Governor of NY. Obama WILL get the nomination for POTUS,so we of sound mind need to focus on beating McCain.I like your dream ticket, only switch Obama and Hillary. LOL
"I've never spent my life sort of thinking what could go wrong"
"I sort of thought through all the things that could go wrong"
Michelle Obama on Larry King said within 5 seconds of each other. If I had put "said by Hillary Clinton", Obama fans would jump all over how dumb she was and a liar's liar. Once again, double standard.
If you just take off your Obama glasses, you will see he is a typical politician.
DEZNUTS 1980 YOURE ALSO AN IDIOT. I DONT SAY THE PLEDGE EITHER. MY ALLEGIANCE IS WITH GOD AND HIS MESSENGER. I HAVENT BEEN CONSIDERED AN EQUAl AMERICAN SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME. PLEDGING TO YOUR AMERICAN GODS IS FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO WILL BE THROWN INTO RAGING FIRE ON JUDGEMENT DAY: BECAUSE YOU LOVE YOUR COUNTRY MORE THAN GOD. AND WHAT AN IDIOT YOU ARE. DONT U HAVE A "RAPTURE' TO PREPARE FOR? INSTEAD OF COMPLAININ ABOUT OBAMA NOT WEARING A MEANINGLESS PIN, GO READ YOUR BIBLE LIKE HE DOES.
i put a list on youtube about obama and slamWillC0nquer tells me im a IDIOT and i WILL BE THROWN INTO RAGING FIRE ON JUDGEMENT DAY need i say more. lol lol lol
Let's not count Hillary out; she sees to it that Obama gets what he gives (and the "bitter" comment is a prime example). It's politics as usual. Why is she considered a bitch and he a saint? Ah, but remember how recently the irrelevant Kennedy's thought they were handing BHO Mass on a silver platter. Boy did that sink down to the bottom like a tossed-aside one-night-stand in a broken Oldsmobile.
Common Penn Staters, its your chance to do something for America and the world. Reject this serial liar with the fake blue contact lenses. Jesus, cant you folks recognise falsehood ?!! Besides Karl Rove has lined up Monica Lewinsky for November - Bill might just make more money plugging facials after November!!
Hamase is a governed power that we labeled as terrorist like many label america as.
Small townsmen and poor people do cling to guns and religion and blaim their problems on other groups of people like minorities to this day thinking the government will do all it can to help them such as giving 10 billlion dollars to the credit unions who lost their money to lendies that couldn't pay them back for instance... jeese how about a million dollars for every citizen instead.
america doesnt tell its kids to blow themselves up. Small townsmen are not poor believe me. we take care of ourselves we dont need government to help us. we have no bums or beggars
Hamas is a terrorist organization. Let's now rewrite history. The deal is how to get past a terrorist organization that holds legitimate power. Carter had many faults, but his MidEast policy was not one of them. Best US President on MidEast policy EVER. Obama could have scored big time with me if he didn't play politics with Carter's trip. I wouldn't call the CIA terrorists, but I wouldn't defend them either.
$10 billion only pays 10,000 people $1 million btw. Didn't know Bush posted here.
Thomas Frank, author of What's the Matter with Kansas:
"Ah, but Hillary Clinton: Here's a woman who drinks shots of Crown Royal. And when the former first lady talks about her marksmanship as a youth, who cares about the cool hundred million she and her husband have mysteriously piled up since he left office? Or her years of loyal service to Sam Walton, that crusher of small towns and enemy of workers' organizations?"
The whole point of Obama's talk was Clinton and Bush administrations had marginalized and disrespected folks in the rust belt by breaking promises to help with unemployment. His point was he wanted the government to keep it's promises. Now,the Clintons want us to ignore the whole point of his message(gov should keep it's promises)and instead, fixate on some poorly chosen words in his talk. Clinton is banking on us being easily distracted. That's the REAL disrespect. We are being played!
Yes, donating to a charity you feel so strongly about that you actually founded it is just evil. The foundation hasn't accomplished anything right? It must just be a place to launder money.
Obama can contribute to his own chairty that tackles serious issues like the Clinton foundation, but he doesn't have one.
Clinton Foundation v. Obama's church. Which charity is more controversial?
Face it. Obama significantly lost the charity comparison which undermines his entire theme.

Wake up!

Elitists are, according to my knowledge, people that think theyre better than you. The right wing has used this label to get elected for years. Elitists are painted as snobby know it alls that are "out of touch" with everyday americans that have "small town values." They try to convince people that the president should be a common man of the people, instead of an intelligent one that thinks things through carefully.

catha- Time for some fact checking on your posts:
- Obama did not get a deal on his house.. he got the lot next door for a little below market value.
- No..he didn't grow up in poverty, but there were some hard times when his mom had to apply for food stamps, so he was not exactly rich either...facts are: he only lately got into money ( from book sales) and is still worth a very small fraction of what Hillary is worth..
electrodyne1 3 years ago
"he got the lot next door for a little below market value."
That's not a "deal"? A LITLE below? Why didn't Rezko show offer some good "little below" deals to the poor in Chicago who really need them?? Was Obama thinking about those Chicago poor? How dare anyone accept a "deal" from Rezko. He's just another corrupt Chicago guy screwing the poor out of the little bit of help they should be offered...
cathanimator 3 years ago
cath- I did some more research...turns out Obama paid a fair market price and Rezco made a profit.
electrodyne1 3 years ago

The only way into the garden plot is through the Obama's front gate.
gorgegirl4 3 years ago
gorge- Obama made the highest bid on a home that had been listed for months. Hill would still be all over it if it were shady.
electrodyne1 3 years ago
The remaining large lot is now unbuildable because of the 10 ft now missing because it was sold to Obama. Now, how can an unbuildable lot you paid $575,000 for be a good investment? Only if you have access - access to the buyer.
gorgegirl4 3 years ago
gorge- why is it unbuildable? It's a large corner lot. Have you seen the aerial photo? Looks buildable from the air. Are you an expert in these matters? Have you seen the zoning?

anyone who thinks obama is a racist or is elitist really has no clue. the demographics of the people that support obama are wide ranging. mostly highly educated, young people, people from all races. do you really think that all these people have been misled? give me a break. listen to the message of Obama. the so-called elitist speech was about reaching out to people from small towns and including them in a political process they feel has left them behind. so funny how this has been twisted.

Exit polls from AL,MS,TX,OH show the ditto heads are voting for hillary.
wervasdeferens 3 years ago
vas - black vote is usually not 85-90% for one candidate in primary (unless they are black such as Jesse Jackson).
Once again, Repubs are playing Briar Patch.
board405t 3 years ago
You're right, I'm talking about the general.

Pennsylvania
Black Men (6%) 7% 93%
Black Women (8%) 13% 87%
So Barack locks up 13% of the vote (in a state that is 10% black) before the rest is split in closely in half.
So carrying that forward he should have about 27% of the vote of North Carolina locked before the rest is split.
Can we stop pretending race isn't an issue here?
In the general election, the black population will vote Democrat, but will the working class? Vote smart.

"In the general election, the black population will vote Democrat, but will the working class? Vote smart."
That's the nature of the beast, board.
How many women vote for Hillary just because she's female?
But even worse, how many whites won't ever vote for Obama because he is black?
wervasdeferens 3 years ago
Although the woman vote splits for Hillary slightly, the black vote is basically 100% for Barack. But that was the whole point. Obama will probably win the primary, but lose that advantage in the General Election. Sorry but I canot deal with 2008 McCain. 2000 Bush infuriated me. 2004 Bush perplexed / depressed me. 2008 McCain might just make my head explode.
board405t 3 years ago
"...the black vote is basically 100% for Barack. But that was the whole point."
But, doesn't that make them racist? If I vote for McCain or Hillary because their skin color matches mine?
Dogsw00f 3 years ago
Apparently plenty of whites vote for Obama, which is shows they are voting based on their preference of candidate,...Not color.
However, it is equally apparent that 90% plus of blacks vote for Obama. Is this because they are all so supportive of his political ambition or could it be because they are voting color?
I everyone has a right to vote how they see fit, but clearly whites are being open minded and voting for issues while it appears blacks are solely voting color, thats ignorance
hunterpa64 3 years ago 4
I absolutely hate that I agree with this. Only because, a friend of mine told me that is EXACTLY why he voted for Obama, and why his wife and ENTIRE family did. How far have we progressed with racial issues? Absolutely NOT far enough. And that is so sad.
wabash 3 years ago

EDWARDS: So there's no limit at all.
board405t 3 years ago
OBAMA: oftentimes you vote present in order to indicate that you had problems with a bill that otherwise you might be willing to vote for

Correct, blue collar workers are of any race/creed/color. So are white collar workers, for that matter. But since white collar workers usually have graduated college and earn more money, they are less likely to be bitter. LOL, just kidding ! We both can list things said and done by both candidates and surrogates alike. But we all know who went negative first and most often.
Neither would be in their positions if they weren't shrewd politicians.
Obama has tried to stay on the high road, but started losing ground after the Clintons used the "kitchen sink" strategy.
Bottomline Obama is leading in delegates, pop vote, states won and fundraising.
Obama glasses,indeed.
wervasdeferens 3 years ago

The whole point of Obama's talk was Clinton and Bush administrations had marginalized and disrespected folks in the rust belt by breaking promises to help with unemployment. His point was he wanted the government to keep it's promises. Yes, donating to a charity you feel so strongly about that you actually founded it is just evil. The foundation hasn't accomplished anything right? It must just be a place to launder money.
Obama can contribute to his own chairty that tackles serious issues like the Clinton foundation, but he doesn't have one.
